    A couple of things about the TAG on the Moltke. First, putting a laser in there would necessitate additional heat sinks as the plasma rifle has already used up the ten heat sinks in the engine, so that isn't an option. More to the point, the Moltke is a design from the remains of the Free Worlds League and the FWLM just LOVES guided munitions. Many, MANY Free Worlds League designs include a TAG system so they can spot for Semi-Guided LRMs and guided Arrow IV missiles.

      I see MF has responded to this, and I also bow to his response. ++Community all around!

    I've used Battle Armor and fought Battle Armor. They're no joke.
    -Giggins would be better if it was either a fast hover, or a tracked vehicle for the resilience.
    - as for the Maxim MKII, I've gotten good service out of a Maxim with everything stripped out, moving 8/12, weapons replaced with three MML 5's and an 8 ton bay. its obnoxious up close.

      Sounding like Maxim is just an all around good platform for carrying boots with mix & match weapons systems.

      @Mechanical Frog the Maxim, whether the Clan refit, the Maxim II or the ilclan Maxim Escort are all amazing vehicles. Whether they are ferrying basic infantry platoons or Battle Armour the Maxim is a heavily armoured infantry fighting vehicle in the truest sense. It literally provides fire support of varying range bands. Unwary enemy mech units can get totally surprised by just how much fire-power even the base version has.
      The escort strips out all infantry cargo bays and turns it into a tank of the line. Very fast and hard hitting.
      You pay a premium in BV for the Maxim but if you are fielding large Battalions of Conventional Infantry or battle armour its the last word in infantry Transport.

    The Regulator II has a secret feature: fire the gauss rifle while moving and it will go rolling down the nearest hill.
    Seriously, who's idea is it to put high-recoil weapons on a hovercraft lol
    Also the Motlke is Spookston's worst nightmare. Quad tracks, a visible cockpit, and a weird as f*ck turret?

    Wait, the Capellan version has a Gauss Rifle with a japanese name? Weird. But then again, the Confederation has a couple things that are more japanese than chinese...
    I miss an energy weapon on the Moltke, this version is completely ammo dependent, but i really like this tank, it looks cool in its wonkiness XD
    Hm, Doug Chaffee gave both the Giggins AND the Demon so tiny wheels, considering they are 40 and 45 tons respectively, i doubt they would run well on anything but roads.

    • @MechanicalFrog
      @MechanicalFrog  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm kind of hoping that the 3085 TRO will get an art refresh in the future as it's wildly inconsistent across the TRO. Some are rough sketches and others are fine line. The Giggons and the Demon could use a 2023 pass over, not to knock the original artist. Far better than I could accomplish.

      @@MechanicalFrog I wholeheartedly agree, and not just 3085, i am still hoping the Lineholder will finally get some love, Bishop Steiner did a great piece of it but the official artwork is still lacking.
      And with their current artists they have already brought out MANY really nice loking reworks of classic designs, managing to bring them to new life while also honoring the original art.

    Totally question your choice of the Maxim II ........ You've got 16 tons of capacity to carry what ? Not battlearmour you can only carry 1 squad , and multiple infantry platoons is meh you can only dismount 1 a turn as they must get out at the END of the Maxim's movement , can't violate stacking (hence only 1 can actually get out) , and then they can't move or attack that turn ......... Highly questionable

    • @MechanicalFrog
      @MechanicalFrog  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can you point me to this rule? The TRO said it can hold more than a squad.

      Carrying Limits : with the exception of Large Support Vehicles a carrier may only transport a single battle armour unit at any time using these rules ...........
      The rules for dismounting are on the page before , and you'll need cross reference the stacking rules .
      If these weren't rules I'd totally agree the Maxim II is the best transport ever but unfortunately they are .
      I've tried to find alternatives to 'using these rules' but have never found a rule that contradicts them unfortunately

      @@mathewkelly9968 Ok so you have missed something here, 226 is for units riding on OMNIMECHs/OMNIVEHICLEs ONLY. The rules for carrying battle armour in vehicles cargo space is on page 223 under infantry carriers and is only limited by tones of cargo. Battle Armour needs 1 ton per trooper, so that 16 tons is 16 elementals if you want it to be.
      FYI the weights required for each type of infantry are on 213-214.
