  • Hi everyone, thank you for 26:39 of your time. In this video I rebuild an old computer instead these parts to finish in trash and I make some mod to look better. Isn't something powerful and special but still okay for some stuff and playing older games.

Am i the only one who keeps hearing 960 but the card is 690?
Anyway, i would put some modern components inside (not overkill, just decent ones) because all that modding with the case and those cylinders with fluorescent liquid is just LIT.
It looks very awesome on the outside, it's a shame to have low spec config on the inside. I hope this build will have an upgrade in the future because it's deserve it

Water won’t damage components as long as there is no power in any component. But still even after a couple of days there still might be some water left in some areas even if it still powers up. Corrosion can also happen on the boards later.

Nice upgrades and restoration of this computer! I'm glad that you managed to get the components upgraded, and the case actually doesn't look too bad either. Though personally, I'd have just kept the case as it was, and just upgraded the internals (I'd have also kept the hard drive bay and the DVD drive bay).
Also - you probably expected this - I'd have used Windows 7 instead of Windows 10 for older titles. Windows 10 will still work, just not as well as Windows 7. Heck, if the drivers were available for the CPU and GPU (as well as accessories), you could even dual boot Windows 7 with the 64-bit version of Windows XP (64 bit version to use more than 4GB RAM).

I remember back in the early 90's i took an axcto knive and and cut the IDE cables in between the lines and taped them together for better airflow. After a while i noticed these became available standard at PC stores.

That powersupply is scary on something like a GTX 690 and playing something very demanding might be too much on that psu, regardless of how old it is.
That 690 has x2 8-Pin meaning 150watts x2 and then 75 watts from the PCIE lane, meaning its capable of drawing 375 watts. With a 80 plus white and 500 watts, you'd surely overload that powersupply.
