its so confusing. When I was a kid, I liked Barbies but I also liked Hot Wheels but I didn't like to wear dresses much. I also didn't like some types of dolls and I liked to play in the dirt and climb the trees with my Barbies. That didn't make me any less of a girl and it certainly didn't make me a boy. What I don't understand is how they claim to be so against gender stereotypes but when their child doesn't fit within those gender stereotypes they claim to be so against they immediately hop on the bandwagon of "my child is trans" Why can't kids just be kids?

I used to get dressed up in my frilliest dress, go in my mom’s room and play with her make up and get ‘beautiful’. Put on mom’s high heels….. head out to the garage and help my dad work on his 18-wheeler truck. Covered in oil, head to toe…then after a few hours head back in the house to help my mom, cook or sew. My dad commented on how beautiful I was, as he taught me the names of every tool I handed him and what they were for. My mom, always threw a fit, hoping the oil, dirt, and grease would wash out… but she always got it out and was never angry with me. 😂🤣 I am 100% female, and have never let anyone tell me who I was or could be. What a great childhood I had, and honestly never fully realized it when I was younger. Thanks mom and dad.

💯 I hear you. Buck Angel doesn't like it when people call kids trans kids. A kid is a kid. Some might experience gender dysphoria but it's best to let the kid grow up finding themselves they could just be learning about their feminine and masculine characteristics. The label trans kids probably shouldn't be a thing and when the word is used should be reserved for those strongly experiencing gender dysphoria.

Here is the REAL truth about Gay and Transgenderism: It is NOT about chromosomes (the XX or the XY) or the BODY, it is about the STRUCTURE of the human brain. A Doctor with a Ph.D. in Genetics and his team did research on the STRUCTURE of the human brain. They studied the brain of straight women and straight men, gay women, and gay men, as well as transgendered women and transgendered men. What they found is this, the STRUCTURE of the brain between a male and a female is as different from each other as night is from the day. They also found that there are two distinct and separate areas of the brain that deal with sexuality and gender. They found that the area for sexual orientation in gay men is STRUCTURED the same as in straight women, NOT straight men, and in gay women, that area is STRUCTURED the same as in straight men, NOT straight women. Likewise, the center in the brain that deals with gender identity is the same, in transgender women (male to a female) it is STRUCTURED the same as in cis-women, (born and identify as female) NOT cis-men, (born and identify as male), and in transgender men, (female to male) it is STRUCTURED the same as in cis-men, NOT cis-women. It has been STRUCTURED this way since BEFORE birth. Two other teams in different parts of the world doing the same study all independent of each other found the exact same results. When a baby is first formed in the womb it is formed 100% female. Then after a few weeks, a signal from the father's genes tells the baby's body, the body only, to change and become male. The baby goes on for a few more weeks this way until it can produce a massive amount of the male hormone testosterone, which then tells the brain to change into the male pattern, such a massive amount will never be seen in that Child's life again except at the onset of puberty. If for some reason that baby does not get that massive dose of testosterone in the womb then the brain, or parts of it, continues to develop in the female pattern. Or in the case of gay women or Trans men, at some time in the mother's pregnancy that baby received a small dose of testosterone at the wrong time, either the mother ingested it somehow or her body produced it or the baby’s own body produced it all of which can and have happened. When a baby is being formed in the womb, any variation, even in the slightest, of the chemicals can cause birth defects. You have seen these birth defects in babies being born all the time, some born blind, or deaf, born with missing limbs, or heart problems, or even with a spine outside of the body, and many, many others. So why is it so hard for the right to believe that a person’s BRAIN can be STRUCTURED in the opposite way from what their bodies say they should be? You can believe in all other birth defects so why not this? I will use transgender women for this example, even though the body is male she likes all the same things a cis-gender woman likes, her emotional likes, wants and needs are the same as any woman's, and the way she sees the world is the same. Her interactions are the same, everything about her is the same as any cis-gender woman except the body. Sexual characteristics (the body) are set by the genes (the XX or the XY) but Gender is set by the STRUCTURE of the BRAIN, this has been proven through sound scientific study. Gender is how one see themselves and their place in the world and how they interact with it. If your body is set one way and your brain the other it causes a disharmony of mind and body (gender dysphoria) it is not now or ever has been a DELUSION or a PERVERSION or a MENTAL ILLNESS. When someone is going through life with this Dysphoria their life is a living hell, when people tell them that they can't be WHO they are inside because that person is uncomfortable with it then you are forcing the trans person to live in severe PAIN, Anxiety, and Depression, a PAIN that having your arms and legs cut off with a dull rusty hacksaw without any anesthetics seem like nothing in comparison, a pain that kills, LITERALLY KILLS. Think of everything you like and want as a man or a woman, everything that makes you, you, and then think how you would feel if you were constantly told that you can't have it, or be it, or do the things you love, because you are the opposite of who and what you are now, that you must bury everything that makes you, you because other people don't like it because it makes them uncomfortable, If constantly you were told that you were evil and dammed because you are who you are, denied a job, or a home, insulted, belittled, assaulted and even targeted to be KILLED just because you exist, how would you feel? Women, think how would you feel if you were forced to live, think, told to feel like and be a man, And told that you MUST do what men do, how men do it, see things the way men see them in order to be a man and you MUST be a man and that something is wrong with you if you don’t? How would you handle that? Men, think how you would feel if you were forced to live, think, feel, and be a woman? Told that you MUST do what women do, how women do it, see things the way women see them in order to be a woman and you MUST be a woman and that something is wrong with you if you don’t? How would you handle that? A trans woman does NOT fit, in a man’s social circle the same way a man does and yet they are expected to if they do not go through transition, they are expected to think, feel, and act just like any cis-gender man in that circle, but they can’t because their brain is STRUCTURED differently, so they are insulted, belittled beat on ridiculed, and humiliated by these men, constantly, all because their brain is STRUCTURED the same way a cis-gender woman’s brain is STRUCTURED. With their brain being STRUCTURED that way they would fit into a woman’s social circle but with their bodies being male, again they don’t fit in and they are excluded. They want to wear the same outfits the women wear because their brains tell them they should be just like them. Everything inside them SCREAMS that they are just like the people who are of the opposite gender and yet they are NOT allowed to be because other people are uncomfortable with them doing so, so they are FORCED to live in severe PAIN, anxiety, and depression. Trans people just want to be accepted for who they are, they want and are deserving of the very same rights as everyone else, no more and NO LESS. Here is the truth about the road to transition: First, the person MUST go to therapy, no therapy no transition, they will meet with a therapist who has knowledge and experience with transgender people. During this time they will begin social transitioning, social transitioning is nothing more than changing one's name and pronouns, and appearance such as hairstyle and clothing. Then after a number of sessions with the therapist (usually about a year) if the Dysphoria continues, and depending on the age of the person they may be given puberty blockers, (which are reversible). Then after many more sessions with the therapist and again if the Dysphoria continues they may be given hormones, it is these that have irreversible effects. Last: when they reach the age of CONSENT (CONSENT, NOT A KID, NO ONE IS DOING SURGERY ON KIDS) and if the Dysphoria continues, and if they have lived in the gender of their choice for a MINIMUM of 1 full year, and have letters from two therapists with one having a P.HD in psychology with both therapists having seen the person over a period of time they may get a consult from the surgeon, and there is usually a long waiting list for that, after the consult if the surgeon agrees then you get on the long waiting list for the surgery. IF ANYONE TELLS YOU DIFFERENTLY FROM THIS THEY ARE LYING TO YOU. Definition of a woman: How you define a woman is by how she sees herself, a woman is one who sees herself as one in mind and soul. If a person sees themselves as a woman, thinks as a woman, acts as a woman, and lives as a woman, then what is the harm to treat and respect her as one? If you cannot have compassion for another human being then how can you ask others to have compassion for you? Show compassion, empathy, and respect by calling them the name they prefer and with the pronouns they prefer. It does NOT harm you to do so but it does great harm to them when you don’t. Definition of a Man: How you define a man is by how he sees himself, a man is one who sees himself as one in mind and soul. If a person sees themselves as a man, thinks as a man, acts as a man, and lives as a man, then what is the harm to treat and respect him as one? If you cannot have compassion for another human being then how can you ask others to have compassion for you? Show compassion, empathy, and respect by calling them the name they prefer and with the pronouns they prefer. It does NOT harm you to do so but it does great harm to them when you don’t. Some of you reject the LGBTQ community because you have a need to feel morally superior to others, “pull the beam out of your own eyes before you try to pull the mote out of another’s”. Some of you reject the LGBTQ community because you don’t understand it and it fills you with fear, fear of something that is different from what you are used to, different from YOU, either one goes forward or one stagnates and dies, you limit your thinking and can’t or won’t learn, grow, and adapt. Some of you reject the LGBTQ community because you just want to hate and hurt others, it gives you a sick thrill, and you use the LGBTQ as an excuse to do so. But ALL of you who do these are small, weak, insecure, monumentally stupid, and utterly pathetic excuses of human beings.

I think the main problem is that there's not a clear definition for non binary. a lot of times the "symptoms" ig of non binary is just having interests outside of traditional gender norms. wanting to express your self out side of those norms is different than feeling so dysphoric about your biological/ physical sex characteristics that it would be in your best interest to physically change yourself with surgery and medication. And wanting to be seen as someone more than just man or woman and identify first as a human being is a very common and normal feeling that most if not all people feel at some point. Ig my point is it can be difficult to tell sometimes if the gender dysphoria comes from the brain or from feeling uncomfortable because you were made to feel that you don't fit in to your birth sex as well as others. Gender dysphoria is real but some people can think they have gender dysphoria when it's something else. Especially if your young and don't have much knowledge of psychology and mental health.

As somebody who has a sister that's now identifying and it's not non-binary, this makes me concerned. Because she is not the narcissistic type at all. Like at all. In fact I can say that me and her both equally can't stand narcissist. And now she's just confused. I mean if she thinks she wants to be a boy in the future to go through a transition then I'll support her. But she better get professional help instead of taking advice from people who thinks they're a different gender because they wear a different pair of pants from a different section of the store.
Hopefully her mind doesn't start going south. Cuz I like the fact that I can still have a conversation with my little sister no matter what it is and no matter how deep it gets. The last time I was questioning about her non-binaryness, and I was trying to be respectful, she didn't really have a problem or make a fuss. But she did have a struggle trying to help me understand it. It's like no matter how hard they try they always make it sound just like Jenna dysphoria or like they can't decide whether or not they want to be trans. But if that's what they meant by non-binary then I think I wouldn't have a problem with respecting it. You're in between the in between. You're still figuring it out from the very beginning. But it's not. They're making all this illogical nonsense explain why they're both are neither genders.
Oddly enough, at least I can say I'm lucky that she's holding the both route. So there's no complaining that I still call her my sister. She's still allowing me to call her my sister. Just now I can also call her my 2nd brother if I wanted to.
I'm not. She's always going to be my little sister. She also thankfully doesn't make a big fuss with anybody in the house for not understanding it. She understands is going to be a hard concept for us to grasp because it's still a relatively new concept.
Anything she just tried to come to me first because I am the oldest within our family that she can come to when it comes to I guess LGBT problems given I'm bi and would be more understanding in that department. But even I struggle to understand this concept and she kind of expected that. She did not act surprised when I had questions. If anything she should know better than I'm the one to constantly ask questions. I'm usually going to want to get to the bottom of something if I don't understand it. Cuz I want to understand it. I want to dress my mind around what the heck is going on. I hate it when I can't.
So maybe I'm just lucky for now. But man the s*** coming out of this community it's just getting ridiculous. This is why I don't even associate with the LGBT community. I swear to God that community is literally eating itself alive and depressing and becoming a very same they were fighting again.
And I really wish they would just stop saying that live and let live b******* when that's not even what it's about anymore. Especially now that they want to resort to racism and sexism because oh well it's happening to whites and males thus it doesn't count. No, by definition it is still sexism and racism.
By that brain dead as logic should we commence a genocide against white skin colored people do just because they've done it to others in the past?
It almost feels like it's digressing to that point. And it's ridiculous. It went from live and let live to we will do upon others that those have done to us. And if they look like the others who have done to us, we would do to them anyways even if they're innocent. 🤦

Like if u are a kid with loving parents that work, cook and care for u, u have friends and hobbies, whether it be sports, drawing, reading, musical instruments, dancing, chess or whatever, if a kid have goals and hobbies and activities and friends the only thing they'll think about is being excited for tmr, excited to hangout with their friends, they will never even think of "I'm born in the wrong body".. But now we have so much kids that have no friends, no goals, no hobbies, goes on the internet and literally have no personality other than talking about their gender and sexuality, even though they never had sex they dont like being straight, they make up pronouns that's wrong in the English vocabulary and force u to acknowledge it.. u can't disagree or you're sexist transphobe
There's too much to put into words, but seeing the trans people who regret it, people who get infections and open stitches and fucked up voices it's just so so wrong to glorify it. I was a leftist liberal due to the influence of social media from a young age, but now I am conservative leaning. Honestly I feel so luck that I have friends and family who don't simply affirm everything I say. Last year after I cut off my hair I felt a lot of gender confusion because as a young woman who had long hair for most of her life I felt unlike myself and that I didn't fit into my dresses and skirts anymore. During that time I had started uni and I had liberal friends who used they/them pronouns and told me about how much they wanted to get top surgery. At first I was very confused as I was raised in a pretty conservative household compared to the western ideals of today. While I was having my gender confusion all of my liberal friends encouraged my "new identity" as a non-binary or even trans person before I even came to a conclusion and made me even more confused and distressed. In contrast all of my non-university friends were calming me and saying that since I never had this kind of gender confusion before maybe it was because I was influenced by my non-binary friends and that it will go away once I grow out my hair. They would tell me it was totally normal to feel more faminine or more masculine sometimes and that it had nothing to do with gender. I am so glad I listened to them because after I grew out my hair the confusion left and I was feeling more feminine than ever. As a 20 years old media literate educated person I was influenced into a situation where I nearly made a decision I would totally regret today. I am terrified for all of the young and impressionable kids who are growing up in this climate and getting surgeries they can never come back from. My heart goes out to all of them and I hope that they have people in their life who will challenge their views and will not create an echo chamber of affirmation.

THIS. THIS is the comment I’ve been waiting for. You’re not automatically experiencing “gender dysphoria” bc you don’t fit the stereotypical gender norms. Step outside of the box and accept that you like different things and that’s okay! You’re not more or less feminine/masculine based off of a simple haircut, clothes you prefer to wear, colors you like, toys or items you like over others. Sometimes it’s okay to just be and be happy! No reason to magically become “non-binary” bc everyone around you thinks it’s cool. You’re correct. Your real friends will challenge your thinking and sometimes it’s for the best. Not always but most of the time your friends know you better than you know yourself. They see you from an outside view and from a different perspective. They know when you’re not being yourself and when you’re not happy! This comment made me smile and basically summed up how I feel about the “non-binary” lifestyle and trend.

Being nonbinary/trans has nothing to do with how you dress or the length of your hair or how you look like. Being nonbinary/trans does not mean that you dress up androgynously, or that you have to / must want to get any surgeries or treatment.
So of course, on the other hand, having your hair cut short never inevitably means you are nonbinary. It's totally okay to be confused (which apparently is due to the gender norms of this society including encouraging women to have long hair) for some time and you don't have to do as either your 'liberal friends' or 'conservative friends' tell you.
The people who 'helped' you decide your gender and 'encouraged' you to transition were not respecting you and were doing a wrong thing. But don't blame nonbinary people as a whole for that, or assume that most nonbinary people are cheated to 'be nonbinary', or decide that being nonbinary is a nonsense.

Yes, I totally get you about not recreating the classic gender roles or just repeating the same stereotypes that this lgbt movement originally fought against to change.... the backwards logic and hypocrisy by the new gender ideology movement makes no sense to me. On one side, men/male and women/female are more then xy or xx, or their genitals, but then at the same time if you dress like a sterotypical man or woman then you must be a man or woman, or the simple mentality of trans/nonbinary is not enough but you need hormones/surgery like testosterone to be man or estrogen to be women.... cause that is all it takes to be a man or woman is the one steroid hormone, maybe some new clothes. Hypocritical and reductionist, insulting even.
It is truely sad tragic frustrating infuriating and bizarre how this movement has evolved and the prooganda has swept up the youth via phones internet social media tiktoks. People will not listen to reason or have open discussion. Body positivity is so fake, as they do not reinforce self acceptance self love and a natural lifestyle (whihc includes no body mods, cosmetic surgery, hormone drugs, ect).
It is a bit disturbing to me that some of your friends were actually obsessing about getting top surgery. It is an even more absurd exaggeration of older body complex and insecurity issues... such as a nose job or boob job. This is like a twisted evolution of that, just pushing ego vanity and materialism, hoping for plastic surgery and synthetic drugs to fix an internal loss of happiness or sense of identity. It really bothers me that a child teen or adult would ever think to remove their breasts or genitals to feel complete, to view these gender surgeries as their "end goal/end game". Seriously messed up and wrong mentality to push on school kids or college kids. This is why I grew to hate the new woke progressive liberals, or even democrats for supporting this ideology. I used to lean left but now Im just center.. center forward or something.
This will end up being one of the biggest medical malpractice and ethics violations in US history... the backlash will be severe. For me I just heard that those people identified as that and that they feel more comfortable being called like that. As for your question I think it’s due to the gender roles that are put onto us, so e.g. women have to cook, take care of the children & the household, play with dolls and etc while boys are taught that they need to manly, strong. And so when you’re e.g a boy, who likes playing with dolls it wouldn’t be uncommon for your environment to be against because that’s now what boys should play with, which results into you feeling suppressed and not being able to express who you are because of those gender norms. That’s why it’s not uncommon for those that felt this way to develop a gender dysphoria, the belief that you don’t align with your biological gender, because everyone tells you that what you’re doing is wrong, confusing you what type of gender you really have or if you actually have one. These people feel more comfortable identifying as non-binary because they don‘t really feel like their biological sex.

The teachings of the Church Fathers are therefore highly important (although not infallible, unlike the Bible which is literally a canonised collection of texts declared to be infallible by the Church).
Anyway, as to the shape of the Earth, I am able to observe by looking at how islands with cliffs disappear over the horizon (their beaches vanish first, then up the cliffs gradually until only the mountaintops are visible) and conclude that there is a curvature to it. I could even calculate it myself using the height of the cliffs and the distance covered, but it is easier to look at the work others have done and see if their methodology, results and conclusions are sensible based on my observations of the world. I studied physics at university, so we were taught not to blindly trust others for the most part, as it is not helpful for progress. You are advocating for blind trust of those who are not accountable to anyone but each other. (And even then, that accountability is breaking down as the peer-review system allows all kinds of nonsense through at times, as many experiments on the system itself have shown.)
Anyway, this is all a tangent away from the point I was trying to make, which is that scientific progress is towards an absolute truth, and does not define truth itself. Otherwise the balance of the four humours really would have been the way the human body worked and regulated itself in the 13th century. This is obviously utter nonsense, it never worked that way, so scientific consensus does not control the truth. (Although it does play a major part in controlling our _awareness_ of absolute truths regarding nature.)

For me (girl, 17), the main driving force behind questioning my gender was simply internalized misogyny and escapism. I was going through some bad times, nobody stood behind me and I longed to be someone strong, someone who isn’t vulnerable, who is logical. And the answer to that in my mind was a man. But since I of course wasn’t a man, and I was sick of being a woman, being sensitive and people pleaser (not necessarily woman’s characteristics, but my mind equated these two things because I saw this in my family), I must’ve been someone else. And I also longed for easy friendships with men, since I am also a lesbian and not interested in them romantically, but still emotionally. So, gender ideology slid right in and tada, I was actually non-binary. I liked to secretly flatten my chest when nobody was home, I liked to call myself gender-neutral pronouns. But I also liked my actual chest and my actual pronouns. It was detransition stories that led me to stop this behaviour. It still gets me sometimes, that what if. I am feminine, always have been but the word woman feels wrong. Not the pronouns, just the word.

Mental vulnerability between men and women is an interesting topic. The suicide rate for men is 3-5 times higher than it is for women according to data collected since the 1950's (in the USA), likely because the traditional social norms for men (strength, independence, risk-taking behavior, economic status, and individualism) prevent them from seeking help when they experience mental health issues. On the other hand, women are 1.5-3 times more likely to be diagnosed with depression, because women experience hormonal fluctuations regularly, and because they go through more intense hormonal changes at specific times in life (from around 10 years old). Of course, any people (male or female) who don't fit the traditional social norms can struggle with that in itself.
I think that if children (and adults) would be more knowledgeable about the challenges that each sex faces and how gender norms are just large scale observations that don't have to be forced upon all individuals, there would be a whole less desire for gender ideologies like non-binary. I think that people without actual chronic gender dysphoria, who struggle with certain aspects of their human experience that are partially influenced by their sex, would embrace their sex (and the challenges that come with it) more.
Just some thoughts that came to mind while reading about your experience, specifically about the need for escapism. Wishing you the best!

Hey! I’ve also noted that most of them are girls. I too thought it was a feminist thing but I also thought it may have alot to do with the menstrual cycle and woman’s hormones. The spike in testosterone could be what girls describe as “feeling masculine”.
There’s also this “I’ve always known” phenomenon. But through my experience with mental health, both personal and shared, I know it’s not true either. And what really happens is self sabotage through a sort of cherry picking or misinterpreting of experiences to fit their answers. Some children with adhd or autism believe themselves to be Aliens because of the inability to fit In, they’re “alienated” respectfully. Then they turn on the tv and relate to the character superman, making them believe they too are aliens.
So this “I’ve always known I’m trans/non-binary” really stems from the prior dislike of stereotypes. They’ve just enhanced the thought to themselves because it’s what they want to believe. It’s really hard to get them out of it. Very…

    1. If they answer 20, say that they're wrong because "how dare you assume gender is binary?"
    2. If they see through your motive and ask you to stop asking this question, just ask them why they refrain from answering this simple math question and also try to urge them to answer the question.
    3. If they are smart enough to ask "There is not enough information. How many non binary students are there?" Then just give them a number and let them answer the question.

Instead of making all this fuss, why dont you just dress as you want and that's it?
Because clothes dont define genders. So, if you dont have gender disforia and you dont feel the need to make a BODY TRANSITION. Well..................just be you and dress and act as you wish. Easier, right?

In German there is only one word for gender. Not like in English, sex and gender. in German it is just "Geschlecht" because there is no difference between sex and gender.

The ironic thing is the same people who say gender is a different word for sex (male, female) don't realize that the word gender derives from the Latin word genus (to beget,to produce (also known as sex))

I don't necessarily have a problem with people identifying however they want. It's just when they start calling people bigots when you refuse to go along with their self-identified pronouns. That's when I typically start scrutinizing the factual integrity of their logic. They seem to hate it when I bring up the scientific model because they then have to prove how their gender identity connects to their biology. They try their darnnedest to justify gender identify through science, but they have to struggle to explain how their biology correlates to their gender.

Because its simply disrespectful, if I told you my name was Jeremy please call me Jeremy and you called me Steve I personally wouldn't want to hangout with or be near you. Think about it like this, if a homosexual came out to their grandma and said "Hey this is my boyfriend, I am coming out to you as gay." and the grandma simply replied with "Oh well what a lovely girlfriend you have there I am so glad you are straight!" That's where the real delusion is. If you don't like homosexuals, simply say so don't try to avoid the conflict by playing dumb, and anyone has the right to call you out for your bigotry. Same with gender if someone was nonbinary and said "Hey I'm actually nonbinary I go by they them pronouns" and you said "No, I don't think that you are nonbinary because I don't think its real " That's simply delusional and clearly the person in the latter would be considered a bigot to the nonbinary person and most anyone around them. You can deny your role as a bigot but facts do not care about your feelings, if you don't respect nonbinary people don't hangout with them its as simple as that, there's no struggle of avoiding when the group of people you disrespect are less than 1% of the American population. Of course surely if you understand biology and the science behind gender (not sex by the way!) you'd find that plenty of studies find transgender people's brains and how they think correlate with that of the gender they Identify with. If you need help with finding studies here is a study that explains why nonbinary people may think the way that they do it is simple a neurological type indication that differentiates a nonbinary person from your typical cisgender person, pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33440198/ This links to the abstract which really summarizes the study but after reading the study as a whole which I highly recommend you do, you may have a better understanding of how it works. Saying "Science is on your side" is simply false. In just America alone we have been studying gender for over 50 years, to say that gender identity is reliant on sex is an immaculate simplification that does not have any basis in reality. It is no struggle to explain, it is rather a struggle for many to understand, I would give you the benefit of the doubt and say that perhaps you don't understand how it works and you were really close when you said "how their biology correlates to their gender." But it was just a lost cause. Didn't mean to make this so long but I felt oddly inspired and maybe you'll learn something if not then that's fine but don't get all whiny when people rightfully call you a bigot.

@@zurzuse3483 Are you serious? One of your main qualms with what I said was that you thought misgendering someone was disrespectful. That's a feelings perspective, buddy. Your whole stance about facts don't care about your feelings is total nonsense. Get out of here with that bad faith and inconsistent garbage. You're literally projecting here, and not to mention that you're being hypocritical. You can't even consistently believe that by your own contradiction LOL! Meanwhile you're also using the idea of being disrespectful in this instance to also equate me to being a bigot. That's not exactly a fact statement. That's an ad hominem fallacy which is antithetical to being a fact. It solely functions as painting me as the bad guy and doesn't actually make your point. You can falsely call me a bigot but it's a total moot point.
But if you want to talk about facts, let's talk about the source you provided. The abstract literally contradicts itself in the first few statements since the whole concept of non-binary means that you're outside of the binary in the sense that you're neither male nor female. Yet the article says that you can somehow be both. That's a literal paradox since the distinction of male and female are polar opposites.
The whole reason why I brought up the biological factor into this is because it relates to one of the important axioms of the scientific model. You have to have tangible, testable, repeatable evidence in order for it to be potentially considered scientific. The whole reason why we can scientifically say that male and females correlate to genders such as being a man, or a woman is because we have tangible evidence in the form of human biology to test this theory. If we are to define what it is to be a man or a woman, we could say that they are an adult human male or female whose gender is comprised of the set of behaviors and influences that stem from the nature of their biological sex. That definition is concrete and consistent with the tangible aspect of the scientific model because the genders map onto a physical/tangible aspect that can be tested. The concept of being non-binary refers to no specific anatomy which disqualifies it from being scientific evidence that proves its place as a gender. It simply states that it's neither of the 2 genders which is completely ambiguous. At most, the article proves that the feeling of being non-binary is a mental phenomenon, but it fails to show that it's an actual gender since gender is a part of human nature that stems from sex. Because that's how you measure it in accordance with the scientific model. That's the most basic step lol. Men tend to be more aggressive because of testosterone. That's how sex affects a man's behavior since testosterone is a sex-based hormone. It's not unfounded, it's basic evolutionary biology. So yes. The science is on my side here. You proved my point about not being able to explain gender's relation to biology by missing the whole point of the scientific model.
And your whole example about the grandma is so vague that it's terribly incoherent. If the boyfriend is male, grandma's totally wrong for calling him a her lol. Yes, she misgendered him, but that's not the same as "misgendering" someone who identifies as the opposite gender. Your point here achieves nothing LMAO! Same thing for the very first example you gave. People don't typically call you bigot for getting their name wrong. They normally correct you because that's not their name. They may go by an alternate name but it's a total false comparison to the gender conversation since people don't call you a terrible person or bigot for not calling them by their name. Jesus Christ! This has to be one of the worst arguments that I've seen in a looooong time. If people can't respect the fact that we have the freedom to choose not to call them by their preferred pronouns, they're free to move on and go about their day. It's that simple. Just as I've explained, facts literally don't care about their self-identified feelings.

Maybe part of why people aren’t completely onboard with non binary people is because like you said there’s no concrete definition. But I’ve found that a lot of non binary people from my experience have talked about how they don’t support the concept of ‘gender’ because it makes them feel trapped and like they have to conform to gender norms or something like that. It’s kinda hard for me to understand their perspective honestly. But these days you don’t really have to conform to gender norms, at least if you’re living in a progressive country like the US or Australia for example. If you’re a man who likes dressing up as a woman and has feminine interests that’s fine. Sure, there will probably be some people who make fun of you for it, but you’re still well within your right to do so. And even though I have a very androgynous haircut and have boyish interests, I’m still a woman. I sort of understand how being transgender works and believe that it is valid, but I just don’t get this non binary stuff. I of course don’t hate non binary people, I just don’t understand it. It makes no sense to me personally.
