Heard flat bands are better just now in a vid., especially for beginners and they are more accurate. I have a wireframe Daisy with the wrist support, typical and I wanted to know how to convert it. Figured it was easy and possible, but wow, it couldn't be easier. However, I like your tips, therefore like the video very much. That's what I needed to know, the details of "how to do it right".
Thankyou for this mate, this will help me on a project I'm working on. I've made a wire frame head to fit on a stick with a trigger mech, the fitting of flats was foxing me as I use tubes or chains mainly. Thank you
I just did this. Granted, I have big hands and it was my first time so it looks like someone blindfolded Frankenstein and made him do it, but I got it. Smooth draw, plenty of power and, best of all, NO HAND SLAP!! Next project; a natural for for hunting.
It might be possible to roll down the rubber on the forks a little way then put the bands on the forks and roll the rubber back up over them. It might be a little tricky though. Just an idea.
I’ve been looking to make my entry level daisy w rocket more powerful and accurate. I am brand new to slinging and am deeply in love with this hobby! Looking to get a scout and oculars. Question. Could I use zip ties or worm drive clamps to secure the bands to the wire frame? Or is tying them with rubber bands better? Or safer?
I am wanting to do the same switch from tube band to flat band on a wire wrist supported slingshot using zippy ties,. if you have done it please let me know I never under estimate the fastening power of zippy ties. thank you for replies.
Think you could use small cable ties to hold bands on a wire frame sling shot? Maybe put fresh tube on the frame itself and wrap the bands on top of the tube with 2 small cable ties on both sides. This way the cable ties would could compress the band down on the tube and get a better bite. I Like my tube frames but would like to have better performance.

Excellent demonstration! Looking forward to converting my slingshot to flatbands.

What kind of band material is best and where do you get it from?

Then maybe tape over the connection a few times or zip tie the joint?
Very informative thanks for sharing this.

@@paulawestcott7228 It can be done I think you have to tie them through the forks though not over the top
Awesome. Thanks!

Wow right on! I am wanting to do the same for my wire frame, sounds like an awesome idea.lmk your findings.
Make sense...agree.
👌👌👌
Thanks!
Can't you just use twist-ties or wire-ties?
