Future biggs here. I was wrong - Cloak DOES reset the cooldown of recklessness, even in PvE with the changes, so you can force 6 auto crits back to back to back. NEW UPDATE: Reaping strike's CD was changed in one of the more recent updates, from what I've heard it's still the BIS.
You actually can still use Force Cloak to reduce the cd of Recklessness in pve, they changed it so that just activating the ability procs the cd reduction and leaving combat is no longer required. It’s the Electric Ambush passive you automatically get at level 60 if you want to have a look.
Thanks for the guide! Getting back into SWTOR after the advanced class swap up seemed like a daunting task but you made it super easy to understand. Just one question, when do I slot in throwing my snowball into my rotation? Before or after Ball Lightning?
Hey, my Deception Assassin also uses a Fira Electrostaff. Good stuff. After I watched this, I switched my Awakened Flame for Blade of the Elements, and of course I'm enjoying the phat crits and all the lightning. I am wondering if there is still a valid build which uses Awakened Flame. I have a lowbie Infiltration Shadow (or the other one, the mirror, anyways), that could inherit the Awakened Flame, unless I should really just buy another Blade of Elements. Also, I took Shadow Craft (phantom stride from stealth grants 100% crit for 6 seconds) Legendary. I find this gives me a good opener; Ball Lightning, Reaping Strike, Discharge, Reaping Strike, Recklessness, Discharge, Reaping Strike. I need to play around with Fade and see if I can reset my open-from-stealth. I would think it should, because Fade is stealth... but last time I was using my Deception Assassin did not seem to benefit from it; might be mistaken, might need to report it as a bug.
Awakened flame still works but you will be giving up at least 3k DPS. In your opener, there is no reason to start with ball lightning. You should open with discharge to spend the 3 stacks of static charge you get from phantom stride, so that you can begin gaining more stacks right away. Fade doesn't work like it used to. In operations and flashpoints, you do not exit combat when you use fade. It can take you out of combat in solo stuff but it also resets the fight which kind of defeats the purpose of using it. Right now we do not know if it is working as intended or whether it is a bug.
Two questions. Since the DPS guides as almost done, does that mean tanks are next? Is it possible for you to do a key bind guide? You clear and conciseness in your guides are easy for me to pick up. I’d like to stop using both hands for my keyboard lol.
For your Implants, you're better off with: Shadowcraft - Using Phantom Stride from stealth grants Shadowcraft, increasing your critical chance by 100% for 6 seconds. Force Cloak resets the cooldown of Phantom Stride.
Every top parse seem to have shadowcraft as legendary. Then they juggle between force training and dynamic force. Combination of any with shadowcraft seems to be doing ok with the rotation changing slightly, with fade being popped earlier or not depending on recklessness' longer cooldown
So I’ve had some discussions on this behind the scenes, from my understanding parsing data doesn’t really match up with actual combat, since stealing out in a parse environment DOES provide the super crit chance, but stealing out in group content doesn’t actually put us into “stealth” anymore, it isn’t useful in endgame PvE. It’s great for PvP when stealth takes you out of combat though.
Thanks for this guide. you do such a good job of explaining rotations and utilities. What I want to know is what outfit and tunings are on your assassin. So cool!
Hi there, thanks for these guides invaluable. I am getting conflicting info about not needing accuracy in PVP? I heard you say kinda so just wondering if you could elaborate on that or point me to a video where you do pls. Thanks!
Great video. Wish you would recreate this but make it for people who are currently progressing through the class. This comes across as a endgame build, one you make when you got everything. Following this while your still quite low level and understanding the game is a tad difficult. 10 seconds in and I was confused lol.
Hey mark, great guide, i just have one question. When and if does "Severing Strike" come into play cause 5% damage for each target hit sounds like a great boost in damage.
If you want to use a decent all around tactical, Awakened Flame is pretty good. It adds a DOT to one your abilites and its a very simple and straightforward tactical that can work in all content.
Just returning to SWTOR and your guide REALLY helps. But my question for you is - Is there an easier way to track the voltage buff? Other than playing and getting used to the 15 second timer, or searching to keep my eyes on it? I've been running flashpoints trying this out and learning the rotation but my buff falls off pretty constantly due to trying to watch for the proc's and the current stage of the rotation - causing me to miss refreshing the buff. If there's no way to keep easy tabs on it, I guess I'll assume over time I'll get better at managing it? Any tips would be great though! Thanks for the video also!
I use serendipitous assault and focused retribution. Some people vouch for the crit relic but it’s more RNG than the consistency of the power/mastery relics.
tbh i understand english extremely well, but keeping up with the buffs you have up and shit is impossible, ive hated assassin class for years now ,cuz its unplayable, i really wish they made the rotation easier, and keeping an eye on ur bufffs easier not having to look through 12 buffs all the time, losing focus on the game and just constantly looking at ur buffs, messes up everything and makes the class impossible to play. i basically just click whatever is procced at the moment, no clue what buffs are up and what aint
@@MasterZhao Pretty sure it's the Fira Electrostaff. It comes from the Manaan Flashpoint (just outside the entrance to the Flashpoint on old Manaan) vendor and is purchased with the "currency" Manaan Research Data. You get one or two (can't recall which) at the end of each run of Depths of Manaan and you'll need 6 of them to purchase the weapon. There's a normal one handed version too (same price, I think). You can also get them (the weapons OR the currency itself) off the GTN, but I seem to recall that the prices are ludicrous (hundreds of millions).

regarding CC, dont forget that a stun can be added to maul on the talent tree.
Deception is one of the specs i've had the most fun to this day, in the game. It's also a very new player friendly spec, same as vengeance.

Shadowcraft is rlly rlly useful. In 6.0 Murderous Revelation had tactical use before Death Knell, just because of the 6 second autocrit too.
Been waiting for this one. Thank you

How did you get the skills displayed in a vertical line like that on your screen? That would make following the rotation easier for me

There is no reason to use that tactical. It's a single target tactical just like Blade of the elements but it does less damage.
A nice cut for a nice guide

Heads up the nerfed it so your force attacks only reduce reaping strike cd by 6 seconds, not fully reset.
Nice what outfit is your character wearing?
If in this game they made prices for a level boost of 100 cartel coins, people would play much more than now
