- That's right Toy Story 4 is happening and we were able to see a teaser trailer for the movie and the introduction of a new toy Forky. After seeing it we here at Channel Frederator have many questions about his character and what impact he will on the movie. I feel the most unrealistic thing about the Toy Story series is trying to tell us kids still play with toys. Aren't those young hooligans too busy with their Spider-Man/Elsa TH-cam videos and Fortnite dances?
And I spent far too long trying to work a joke into this episode about the Knork from Clone High before finally giving up. I'm sad I couldn't make it happen, but I just want to let you all know I thought about it really hard

The preview defines the emotional plot of the upcoming movie. If you look at just the preview itself. All the old characters are dancing together implying that the movie is going to start out with everyone great and no problems. Then the lyrics talk about growing up and we see Forky. His confusion about himself causes all the other toys to fall over. They don't fall over at once instead they bump into each other. So that would allude to Forky and his internal confusion is likely the main conflict that will spread from him to the other toys. Once everyone falls down and Forky runs off Woody says to go get them. Most likely that means that every other toy will question their reality until woody will rally everyone together to go get Forky.
On another note, It's possible that the emotional ending is a positively charged emotion.
This movie hasn't even come out yet and I'm already sad..
Jesus, when people will stop to think that tous come to life because childs love? Toy story 2 should be opposite answer. Stinky pete wasnt loved by child because he wasnt even outside from the box just once in his past. Also there is a scene in toy market, were all these toys loved so much?
That's an incredibly good point and one that's super overlooked. The majority of Toy Story villains became that way specifically _because_ of a lack of love, which negates the idea, especially in Pete's case
It's like how The Pixar Theory falls apart if you watch the last five minutes of Monsters Inc. So much of the theory hinges on Boo's sadness of never seeing Sulley again - while conveniently ignoring that Sulley clearly did continue to see Boo :P
Maybe its an extreme amount of emotion towards it. Like extreme hatred. Extreme bordom.
The toys in the store are basically running on factory settings as they don’t have their own personalities
Um, no. It was revealed towards the end of the movie that he had been out of the box before, when he was revealed to be the one who turned off the TV. So he could have been out of the box multiple times in the past and just been lying about it this whole time.
And in the Toy Market scene, the only alive toys were the display ones, meaning they were most likely played with by kids in passing. And all the unboxed toys were still lifeless.

B: The thematic reason is bc Forky is being called/treated like something he isn’t, a toy

I hope forky isn't the villain, I like him too much already. I don't think he's going to be the villain though, because the one thing that sets him apart from the pixar villains is that he seems to be the focal point for the plot. It seems like the story is very much ABOUT him, as opposed to him being a hidden wild-card villain. Though I do think his unstable nature might make him easily manipulated by the villain/s.
I think the carnival toys will be the villains.

Ahoyhoy there, Fellow TH-camrino! In the Toy Story franchise, which is Disnee, I think everything is able to come to life as long as a child's imagination is generating it. In Disnee's 1987 film The Brave Little Toaster, the appliances came to life because of the boy's imagination. Also, before Pixar began making the Easter egg A113, the Brave Little Toaster had the first A113 reference in Disnee films before CGI Pixar films.

I actually kinda believe that this movie will confirm the pixar theory and might have some sort of infinity war concept of having characters from previous Pixar films other than Toy Story be in this movie instead of the casual hidden Easter egg

I'm not sure about Forky, I could be wrong but what if a new toy we haven't seen before becomes the villain of the movie. after all, we didn't know Lotso was a new character/Toy so, maybe this applies to this movie as well, you might hate this theory and we get a plot twist that Forky is the villain
Ryan Morrow The way he's being presented, there's no way that would happen. And if it did, I'd get a refund, that would be horrible writing. Ducky abd Bunny are more likely to become villians.
Makes me wonder about the A.I robot toys. Will they act and behave the same way as the toys by being inanimate objects every time their owners come in?
Remember in toy story 3 when lotso bear saw hes been replaced turned his whole character to a monster I think pixar was hinting to the pixar theory that the toys might rebel against the humans later in the timeline
I have a feeling Forky might have a slightly bigger role than Wheezy. I don't think he's going to be like the "main character" like a number of people think. While Ducky and Bunny might have a very supportive role, I'm going to assume now they are going to be like the otters from Finding Dory.

I got this idea while watching the Amazing World of Gumball and it might be a stretch but it came to mind: what if Richard Watterson is actually smart but he pretends to be dumb? Like in the episode “The Copycats”, he juggles chainsaws, which takes a whole lot of skill
I do remember when hearing whisperings of Toy Story 4 that it would focus on the toys and not the toy owners
I theory is that every time a kid plays with a toy it comes to life I got this theory from toy story 2
Ham (his name is Ham, right? I blanked for a minute and could not remember his name. For some reason my mind first went to Hank, but that didn't sound right) is still sentient (I feel like sentient is a better word, because being alive would imply they could die naturally like with age; which they almost did in TS3 but they all held each other and closed their eyes, not being sure what would happen next) and he's a piggy bank, not a toy per-say. Through Andy playing with him, he serves his function as a toy but is still used as a piggy bank.
A toy I'd like to see would be a wind-up boxing kangaroo named K.O. Katy (although, she'd probably work as an action figure, too).

I think we are gonna see a teenage Bonnie who made forky shortly after Andy left, but is now a teen and we may see how technology now has taken away some of our imagination since we have tools that can tell us everything and are kids can be entertained by.
I think the true villain will be not to lose that playful time in life.
Also in the poster for Forky you can see the Pizza Planet logo from the 1st 2 films, maybe they will go back there, if not it's a nice reference

I'm surprised you didn't mention the living display Buzz in Toy Story 2, as that might have actually been a more watertight counterargument to the idea that toys are brought to life via kids' imaginations.
In the case of Wheezy, you could argue that once a toy is brought to life it can't actually "die" by being neglected, otherwise TS3 might not have happened. Whereas that Buzz had never experienced playtime and so had no excuse.
As I typed that, I realized the same applies to Stinky Pete.
So that's two toys that were never influenced by a child's imagination that still came to life. I'd say we can safely rule that out as an explanation.

I think Forky will be the one who dies in Toy Story 4. I think the Pixar theory does work, at least for the human movies, Nemo and Monsters. But I think the Cars movies are the sequel to Bugs Life as the Cars would have needed to evolve from something if you go with humans never existing in the Cars movies. Insects are the closest creatures they would need to evolve from.
I think the carnival animals will be the twist villains, not Forky.

My guess...Keanu Reeves is going to be the villain. I remember when Incredibles 2 came out, some of the guys at Pixar mentioned that they teased the villain in the background. I looked back at the movie and found a spaceman action figure. Tim Allen said Keanu Reeves character does have an edge to Buzz Lightyear, a space man, so Keanu Reeve's might be the villain in this movie instead of Forky or Ducky & Bunny
