I have 2 of these rods in 7 foot heavy . No issues and have brought in good sized catfish and a couple sturgeon . Nice strong poles in the heavy 7 foot .
I have an Ozark rod, but mine is orange and black. Med heavy spinning. $18. I had loosen my drag some but a great rod. I use braid and mono on Coonar bait feeder reel and Sougayilang baitfeeder spinning reels.
Wow at first I thought "Man I'm going to grab a couple of these!!!" Then when I saw the rod snap I thought "Nope if I want a cheap, decent rod I'll stick to Berkley Big Game!!!" Then again I'll probably still give it a shot knowing me😂
The 7 foot heavy are good rods . 8 lb salmon and nice channel cat do good on the heavy rod . I have not tried the medium heavy like he broke yet . I am going to get the medium 7 foot inshore rod next . I own 2 of the 7 foot heavy rods . They are nice rods . I put high boy baitfeeding reels on them . I bought them on clearance on wallmart website about $6 cheaper than temu . I have thes baitfeeders in 2000 and 4000 . They are great baitfeeders for cheap . Most my rods are lamiglas, g loomis and a few akumo . Only a few akuma rods because they just dont match up to lamaglas or g loomis . th-cam.com/users/shorts6XQtRO8ckH4?si= 5:55
I'm thinking about getting started, so I appreciate the video and the rod review. For catfish rod / reel combos is there a law of diminishing returns on the price range and quality? Thanks.
Hey boss! Glad to help anytime, especially with these videos. I think any rod over $100 and reel over $120 starts having that law apply. For baitfeeders I highly recommend the Okuma CDX series for under $100. Rod wise on a kayak composite, s glass, or e glass rods are pretty good. Tsunami actually makes a great 7' Medium heavy boat rod for catfish (Sapphire XT series)
We’re you fishing on the Delaware? That Channel cat must have weighed 18lb. After catching over 60 30lb plus flatheads & blue cats on the Susquehanna and potomac River. The handle on my okuma bait feeder broke fighting a 50 blue cat. Handlineing that fish with braided line was no picnic. I bought a shimano bait feeder. Cost a lot more money and I don’t like it. I will probably buy another okuma.
I was! Good choice btw, I mean Okuma has never done me wrong but I've also dealt with several broken handles. The newer CDX Coronado baitfeeders are the best. They have strong big handles and a good drag system. Either way, definitely better than those overpriced small spool Shimano baitfeeders. But yeah, that Channel cat was definitely upper 10's/low 20's... guess I gotta go back one more time to muster up another big boi to show the cam.

Looks like a good combo

Doing great work! Glad you were able to snap one on a smaller fish so we can weigh our odds. Not gonna try these on inshore saltwater fish haha

Just found two of the 4000 series for $7
Probably should’ve gotten the Heavy version.
Fish actually don’t have pain receptors
Your exactly right, they have pressure points pain for pressure but not, pain in general
How has it held up?
I bought the same exact rod but a 10 ft surf version for the beaches here in Houston. Hopefully it doesn’t pop
I've been using the 11'ers for a while now on some large catfish with no issues. Great rods all around!

We use them on catfish. The back bone not built for them halibut runs 🤣🤣🤣
Found that out the hard way too huh? LOL
@@CattermanAdventures saw a dude whole rod break 😳🤦🏿🤷🏿♂️
