This is honestly such good advice and unfortunately it's one that so many people don't figure out until even much later in life (40's-50's). I feel grateful that I'm realizing this early in my life (20's) vs. having progressed an entire career to regret not having been there for myself, for my family, friends.
I do feel guilt sometimes for saying "no," especially to a challenge I can't wait to work on more, or if there's pushback from other people. Then I remember Serena William's quote on "sustained greatness" - that rest is actually mandatory for growth, not optional!

You mentioned 'ruthless prioritization,' which encompases more than just 'work' (such as sleep, working out, relationships, etc). Do you think it's necessary to still have rigid boundaries around work when, maybe, my current objectives intertwine with work? For example, my current objective is to become a better software developer (simple). My work (SWE Intern) provides the opportunity for me to learn in a realistic setting, while still furthering my work agenda. Do you think this is a dangerous line to walk on, which may lead to burnout?

Great question Luiz - and in short, the balance between "work" and non-work (which, as you mentioned, can blend) is tough. And honestly, it's a balance that might change or adjust over time. For your example, it makes sense that you might want to lean in and put significant amount of time developing your craft of being a software developer. And thus, spend a lot of time, energy, and focus toward your job.
However, I would say that this doesn't necessarily need to come at the cost of other aspects of life, like sleeping well, spending time with friends, and working out / maintaining hobbies.
Additionally, you may find in a couple years that you might want to develop other skills, such as management or leadership. In that case, it might make less sense for you to spend as much time on your developer skills and more time managing people and leading projects.
What do you think about this^?

Great video Neel! Curious to know if you ever had a boss that pushes back when you ask for more flexibility?

Good question Rory - it's happened, but usually is pretty rare. And when it does happen, it's either because (1) I didn't properly explain how / when I'll get my work done by, or (2) a timeline or deadline updated in a way I didn't know prior
But 99% of the time, the push for flexibility - especially if I communicate expectations around timeline / deadline of the work - is always received well
