Quran is the only book in the world that you can remember word to word in the same language (arabic).. and the best part is most of the people dont know what is written in the quran but then also the can read it orally.. @Dazza Dazzal {He created the heavens and earth in truth. He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. Unquestionably, He is the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver.}
[Al-Qur’an 39:5]
The Arabic word used here is Kawwara meaning ‘to overlap’ or ‘to coil’- the way a turban is wound around the head. The overlapping or coiling of the day and night can only take place if the earth is spherical.
The earth is not exactly round like a ball, but geo-spherical, i.e. it is flattened at the poles. The following verse contains a description of the earth’s shape:
{ And after that He spread the earth.}

The Arabic word for egg here is dahaahaa1 which means an ostrich-egg. The shape of an ostrich-egg resembles the geo-spherical shape of the earth. Thus the Qur’an correctly describes the shape of the earth

@Dazza Dazzal Zul-qarnain observed a sunset (as we observe sunset at sea beach) during his journey. Quran was describing zul-qarnsin's view, not God's. The same verbe “ wajada" was used, which means he perceived it or it appeared to him, which was then described in Quran In poetic language (such as when we say “The moon hid behind cloud”, it only appears so to us.)
They ask thee concerning Zul-qarnain. Say, "I will rehearse to you something of his story"…One way he followed, Until, when he reached the setting of the sun (“ maghrib"), he found (“wajadaha”) it set in a spring of murky water :…Then followed he (another) way…..Until, when he came to the rising of the sun, he found (“wajadaha”) it rising on a people for whom We had provided no covering protection against the sun…Then followed he (another) way…Until, when he reached (a tract) between two mountains, he found (“wajada”), beneath them, a people who scarcely understood a word. (Quran 18:83-93)
So, zul-qarnain traveled three ways. He traveled West and enjoyed a sunset in water body. Then he traveled another direction and found the Sun rising on people. Then he travelled a third way and found a tribe with unknown language living beside two mountains.

Yes, we are talking about Allah’s hand and stuff like that to make people understand better what Allah is talking about.
Sometimes, we speak things in relation to our self and not about the actual phenomena. Eg. the sun rise, the sun set.
Allah says in the Quran that there is nothing like him. That simply mean He is not like something that we already knew or will encounter in the future.But Allah also says in the Quran that He is most living without having need to feed himself. What is the use of a mouth for Allah if He doesn't eat or use it to speak. Similarly, it is also true for Allah’s hands and other stuffs. Allah simply doesn't need all these to see, to know, to speak etc.
Of course, the ignorant people will think like pagans who have no knowledge about God nor do they ever received revelations about nature of the Creator, Allah.
