Shubhanallah I am rescuing cats for past 30 years and have blind cat paralyzed cat and some orphan or abandoned cats i picked from streets. the blind cats sleeps next to me.be blessed and by the grace of Allah I am quiet healthy at the age of 74.when I return from work i am just away from home but the cats sence it and get up to welcome me.blind cat and others fully understand my language and what they need is love and attention .Allah is great.Love from Tanzania

There’s no mention of cats in the Quran. But you’ll find them in Hadiths. Cats are known to be clean creatures, that’s why they are allowed in the house and you’ll find them in many Muslims families. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) loved cats and his favorite was named Muezza. There’s a story about the cat sleeping on his shirt as he was going out for prayer, so he cut off the sleeve or a part of the cloth so as not to disturb it. If you go to Turkey, you’ll find cats everywhere and they are loved by everyone. All animals are creatures of Allah, so we must respect and take care of them. Cats live in our houses, but dogs live outside in Islam. It’s written that dogs should be kept only for hunting.. Otherwise you shouldn’t keep them. People don’t hunt nowadays, so we keep them as pets. As long as we take good care of them, I guess it’s ok. Buying and selling dogs and cats in Islam is haram. You should give them freely and never sell them. Some Muslims breed cats and dogs to make money out of them, it’s haram.

Correct is "I leave behind me two things, The Quran and My Ahlul-Bayt and if you follow these you will never go astray." Sahih Muslim, Sahih Tirmidhi, Masnad Ahmad, Mustadrak Al Hakim Sahihayn, Kanz al Ummah etc.

Dear, my Daughter/Sister... This is my story... I did not had Cat in my house...One Day when I was just going out for my work... a Cat was sitting on other side of the Road of my house.. calling me, screaming at me, just I turned back and saw.. I felt It is hungry, calling for need for food from me. I stopped and went inside my house, got some milk, and kept it out side, I went for my work.. Evening It was sitting on my house side when I was back. I gave some milk in the evening. It was sitting on my Motor bike during night after that.. one fine day just It pipped in side my house. I never restricted or avoided. It was a regular visitor to my house after that. It is Female... then Pregnant, looking for some place.. I gave small cardboard box putting out side.. but it laid cubs outside.. took it one by one 3 cubs to my house inside, looking for the secured place.. I took the box inside... after that it was inside my house with its 3 cubs... now they are 6 months old.. Now, once again pregnant, It is a time for laying.. going around my house, I took it to my First floor gave two cardboard boxes ... 4 puppies cubs now... altogether it is 8 cats Now.. Never thought of it, It happened, I accepted things that came to my side.. Only Allah knows it.. what it is.. why they came to my house.. But we got so much of Peacefulness between so-many hazards..

Alhamdulillah , I am a Muslim in Bangladesh . I have 4 cats in my house living together with my family 4 years ago . Minimum 15 kg Telapiya Fish needed with rice for them per month. As well as Medical treatment is needed. Alhamdulillah.

Lots of people in our part of the world (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh) thinks cats only eat fish that's a myth you can feed cats other meat as well not necessarily only the fish, information can be find online or from a vet.
