- The increased bus lane penalties resulted in a huge reduction of violators during the day.
But at night, many people are still misusing the exclusive bus lane.
First apprehension for EDSA bus lane violation is ₱5,000 - with penalties increasing for repeat violators, including the eventual suspension and revocation of drivers license. - บันเทิง
Now, we see a change and more disciplined drivers. I don't understand people arguing that the penalty is too high and it's anti-poor. It only affects violators. Those people against strict rules are the ones planning to violate them.

The penalty is too high. There are more serious offences that carry a lesser penalty.
How about drivers that commit actually dangerous violations? Running red lights with impunity, for example? Swerving lanes dangerously? That's all too hard for MMDA, is it? Bus lane violators are easy targets with a big fat fine.

I don't believe those apprehended are paying the amount of 5K at the office. I believe they just settle it for lower amount with the traffic officers themselves. Why? Because 5K is so much painful for anybody to pay while more and more violates the bus lane.

it amazes me how all these people can afford shelling out 5K for a violation. MMDA totally sitting on a goldmine with this one, but it's truly a necessary violation given the utter lack of discipline of a lot of Filipino motorists.

There should be collaboration between MMDA and MC Taxi wherein if they violated or disregarded traffic safety and rules this will also reflect in their MC Taxi registration. If they accumulate enough violations their operation/registration will be cancelled for a certain amount of time including the account for their MC Taxi.

In order for these enterprises to reiterate their adherence to these laws, they should also penalize the company that operates these motorcycle taxis in addition to the driver who receives a ticket for the infringement. It's an effective way for these businesses to screen their employees and ensure that their brand is associated with only the safest and most reliable drivers.

One guy said "Why the enforcers are hiding, why are they waiting for the violators instead of guarding the entrance of the bus lane, greedy" an example of filipino stupidity. First of all why do you wanna commit a violation in the first place and why is it the only time you're going to follow the rules if you only see someone is watching you. i hope the LTO can also crackdown on excessive/blinding head and fog lights. these are usually LED lights installed aftermarket that have no cutoffs. punishment would be the driver staring at them for an hour. nauuso na rin ngayon sa motor yung sabay pagflash ng ilaw sa busina. really distracting.

This will not stand in court. If there is a traffic court that oversees every violation of motorist. The enforcer who see the violation should be the one to issue the traffic violation ticket.
Violators becomes visible at night. So I hope the MMDA will receive budget so that someone can still patrol in the evening.

Even though the penalty has been jacked-up, there are still many violators. It seems this will never end. Sad and shameful to say that Filipino's are Law abiding citizens when abroad. But when it's their home country, excuse will be, no one will see or someone else is doing it so why not join them 😔😵😶

Wala rin dito nakikipag talo ng enforcer sa driver. Basta i abot mo lang lisensya mo at lisensya ng sasakyan sa enforcer period. Alam mo sa sarili mo kung may ginawa ka mali o wala, kaya ka pinara.

Why is there a budget shortage for additional manpower? Each apprehension yields 5000 pesos. If they hire someone with a daily wage of 600 pesos, they can easily afford to pay for seven to eight individuals with just one apprehension. Where does the earnings from each violator go? Whose pocket benefits from it?
I could not wrap my head around the fact that these riders are willing to take the risk of using the bus lane with the possibility of getting apprehended and eventually paying 5,000 as a penalty. First, ignorance of the law is not an excuse. Second, there are lane markings and signages that it is a bus lane. Third, they immediately leave the bus lane when they see an enforcer. I mean, 'cmon! You are making a living (MC taxis) by circumventing the law?
Nonetheless, I guess these things perfectly describes the word "KAMOTE".

those public transport like motor cycle taxi, vehicle taxi and others that are registered with LTFRB should penalized the company, also for them to discipline their drivers. this companies should follow strict compliance with our laws. the list of violators should also be submitted to the company so that they can hire responsible drivers.
I don't think it's fair to penalize the company/franchise. It's the driver's fault. The driver should be fired and should not be allowed to become a driver sa ibang company.

It's primarily the driver's fault, but the companies involved should also be penalized.

I think they should extend the penalty payment ticket maximum 10,000 or 15,000 pesos for the traffic enforcers in the bus lane

Hope MMDA send a apprehended MC Taxi to their respective companies so that those who will not follow the law will be suspended of those MC Taxi Companies and thats already a attitude of "Most" MC Taxis Riders that need to be change not just MC Taxis but also Government Agencies Vehicle and other Companies who will not follow the law.,
