Wang-wang in the bus lane

  • This bus lane operation took place before the new penalties came into effect.
Most of the ~40KM of EDSA busway has barriers. Although there are openings for emergency vehicles to go in and out of the bus lane.
It's only on the flyovers and tunnels that the barriers had to be removed for safety reasons.
Most drivers and riders try to leave the exclusive bus lane as soon as they see enforcers up ahead.

to the one who commented that the busway is a "stupid idea" , it is maybe because you have not experienced the EDSA commute daily, how horrible it is back then. The EDSA busway was the best thing that happened for us commuters. As a commuter since 2014, from QC to Ortigas, this busway made my daily commute easier.

the bus lane is the answer for edsq to move people efficiently, only that not allowed vehicles and motorcycles are the stupid ones, not the buslane. maybe the one that is against the bus lane was already apprehended.

In other countries, bus lane is called "high occupancy vehicle lane" bus, emergency vehicles like police cars, ambulance and firetrucks are allowed including cars and taxis with more than 2 occupants. Probably in the Philippines they could allow cars with at least 3 or 4 occupants that would fair. It will attract carpooling and will minimize cars with single passenger on the road

Not only the commuters, also those who drive along edsa everyday. Well there still traffic congestion but it can flow slowly unlike when the buses were freely can roam edsa, when those buses get passengers they tend to block the traffic.

The bus lanes are the best thing that happened to edsa . Since it was implemented the traffic in edsa was dramatically cut . The problem with some filipinos they are just hard headed evendo its all over the news that the penalties in the bus lanes was increased, good job Sir Bong and his MMDA team be safe 👍

Eitherway it is illegal for a private vehicle to have red lights in front. It is a traffic violation, and can be backtracked to the vehicle and the HPG/LTO should check the vehicle properly upon renewal when it is flagged with such infractions.

I drove in Edsa today and I saw 2 regular plate SUV with blinkers in the bus lane and pass multiple enforcers who are on standby and waiting for bus lane violator and none of them stop any of those SUV. I commend them for keeping bus lane clean, but it seems like they are only apprehending those blinker abuser when there is a camera/media. And this is not a rare occurrence as I never seen a blinker abuser get ticketed without camera/media.

Again, for those who thinks that the bus lane is stupid, consider this:
If there were no "bus lanes", do you think the buses will still restrict themselves to using "that one lane"? NO.
What will happen is they'll use ALL lanes and will arbitrarily stop usually in a diagonal position, blocking 2-3 lanes just to load/unload passengers. Worse is they'll make a terminal out of the highway then you'll complain about the buses again.

  • @jaymalanyaon5332
    @jaymalanyaon5332 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

Imagine having all city busses changing lanes, waiting for passengers, and stopping anywhere at all times, I think that is much worse than calling busway "stupid idea". Whoever commented that is "jam-packed" of dead braincells.

    • @benjaminawat6458
      @benjaminawat6458 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

So you think because buses stop anytime, anywhere waiting for passenger blocking 2,3 lane they need to be given especial private lane built by people's money.
Why not fine then more than double if they do that.
Once any car register an amt of road user tax is included. Buses not only having given a private lane all MMDA are protecting their lane from all commuters.

It is a touchy topic because there are corrupt policemen. It is a certainty that among all police that pass through the bus lane, there is at least one that is corrupt. Does that mean we shouldn’t allow the good policemen to pass through the bus lane? No.

But, I guess some people, perhaps you would be 'touchy', which is just something I can't understand. BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, if they're using it in their own vehicles, then I'm gonna get touchy, too. However, as long as it is a "State" vehicle, I'm not going to care. Why? i hope they could find a way just to scan the barcode of the license to get the drivers info instead of writing down infos and violations that takes time giving the ticket.

Yung mga violators na paulit-ulit na nahuhuli ay tanggalan ng lisensya agad-agad.
    Good job po MMDA👍👍👍

im not sure if you've explained it more in a previous video (i think i watch all your videos)
you say "It's only on the flyovers and tunnels that the barriers had to be removed for safety reasons."
why so? why is a barrier in the flyover/tunnel a danger when the rest of EDSA, its fine? other than them being raised or below ground. Its still concrete roadways (i'd imagine, it would not be safe to put heavy barriers on let's say, a small wooden bridge in a remote area not meant for heavy traffic flow)

in tunnels, it could be due to visibility issues, I think.

MMDA should check if Article 177 can be used against those using blinkers only meant for police authority.
They should also check article 151 for those who refused to obey and even run away from MMDA, a person in authority.
Both carry a very high fine and prison sentence.

Busway is the best idea so far, making commuters travel easier. It is also a good way to encourage people with vehicle to use the bus.

That Lexus LX is trying to use the blinkers to use the EDSA Carousel, but it's not a government vehicle unless the letters and numbers are red, but instead with a black and white plate stands for private vehicle. Only government vehicles use the blinkers and siren to use the bus lanes in case of emergency.

Please explain.. What is the safety concern for flyover and tunnels? The tunnels too dark? Then place more lighting. Here in Canada and USA, all tunnels are well lit. Flyover .. please explain what is safety concern.

Did the increase in the penalty reset the offense count? I mean if you violated the bus lane last Friday, got ticketed and then violated it again today, is it considered a second offense now?

    • @ahamster312

I think, no. You already have a record. They will not erase your record of the first offense. Offense is still offense no matter what penalty

Tapos may nag se senyas sa kanila kunh sino malapit sa barrier or basta ahead na kung may enforcer o wala. Kita mo, may sistema kabulukan ng Angkas. Alam ko angkas kasi both passenger may logo ng Angkas.

Just saw the comment “the busway is a stupid idea” flash on this you tube feed. I can’t believe it, really?!?! Even children appreciate the EDSA busway for our commuting public. They understand that thousands use and benefit from it every day. For the good of the many, right? So why cant we just respect and follow the law like everyone else??
