That is amazing! I was wondering if the railway was still in service, thanks. Our Mt Mitchell here in NC is taller, but Mt Washington looks taller in your video. The place reminded me of Scotland.
Been there 2 times 1st time i hike it 2nd time i went up on the cog train totally wort it . . beutyfull all over the place there up and below in the summer . winter .i went from new york to hike in winter had turn back . they have a mountain historic hotel near there i forgot the name . just movie like . happy safe travels on the spyder .
Pikes Peak highway starts out about 7000 feet and goes to 14,115 feet. It is awesome. I have been up it many times. It is a little wider road but the last half going up has some really big drop offs to the side.
Very good video Chris and I am amazed how well you pronounce Husqvarna, as an America. Usually I hear weird things like Huska-varna lol. Some historical facts. Husqvarna is not only a company but a town, which has later been incorporated into the Swedish city Jönköping, in the landscape (something like a Swedish province) Småland) Husqvarna is really 2 words put together. Hus means house, and Qvarna comes from an older spelling of Kvarn which means mill. Now, the town spells with a K today, while the company still spell with Q. Same pronunciation. The Hus comes from a small creek where the company started called Husån. The Qvarn, comes from a mill that was situated by the creek near thr old fortress (borg) called Rumlaborg which was supporting defence from Danish invasions, mostly in the 1400s. It was destroyed in the mid 1500s. Husqvarna is an old company that goes back to 1689 as a rifle / muscut manufacturing company. Cheers from Sweden in NC
It is an amazing ride, have done with our 4 wheeler SxS and vehicle. Sypder will be this fall. Going up on the Cog railroad is very cool too. But there is no room for In attention there. I am sure you noticed the lack of trees as you go up. The Cog rail cars are built and maintained on site.
@@SpyderChrisYT yes we are and we keep discovering new and great places. We try to keep to the central and north parts of the state due to crowds. The Lakes Region is always some what crowded during the summer
Nice job Chris. Hope to do that someday on the Spyder. Did it in a car once. Have done Pikes Peak, Mt Evans, and the Million Dollar Highway so hope you get west sometime. Enjoy your enthusiasm.
Ray, I did Pike's Peak in a car in 1996! Wracked my nerves but made it! Different ride due to the altitude, but similar - the day I drove up I was above the cloud line!
Those views are stuning! Bye the way, I did see the Glider on the Go Pro the first time you saw it on the way up so nothing wrong with the image reporduction. 🙂That ride out was really good and I bet it gets very cold in winter and the road becomes blocked with snow? The only worrying thing was those drops at the side of the road and as you said if you lost concentration or mis judged things then the outcome could be very different! Anyway it's a big thanks for sharing that Chris.
Glad you saw the glider. On my iPad, even during editing, I couldn’t see it, even though I know it was there. I was relieved when it whizzed by up close when I was at the summit.
@@SpyderChrisYT Yeah, diffinatly saw it. 🤣👍When you were coming back down and you saw that thick smoke I was thinking for a minute that someone had gone off the road! Good job it turned out to be the Train 🚂. Thanks once again Chris. 🙂
Regarding the Spyder temperature. I purchased my used 2021 last December. I'm riding it out of Casa Grande, AZ. Lately I have taken off for a ride when it's around 85 degrees and am home when it's right around 100. I have not had the temperature of the Spyder rise above 1/2 but if stopped at a traffic signal, the fan starts up and you can definetly hear it.
You got lucky on it being so clear. Been up a few times and it was cloud bound with absolutely howling winds that would shake the car hard just being parked and freezing. Lot of Spyders here in NH for sure. If they make one that can handle the mud and gravel on my road at some point, I may buy one. I frequently have several inches of mud on my road. I'm dubious about the close fenders and the belt drive with the mud and gravel I have.
@@SpyderChrisYT I did thanks but it seems to be belt drive and the tire tread on the slick mud may not be great, will see what people think of them as they appear.
The cog railway has a cog wheel under the train that grabs a special type rail in the center of the track and the train propels itself on the cog motor. (TH-cam Cog train)
I had a weird issue on my Spyder yesterday. I put the key in and the bike beeped. After I went past the read me warning page, it said incompatible key. I took the key out and let the computer shut down. Put the key back in, and everything was good. I wonder if this is something I should be concerned with?
That happened to me! It was early on, probably my first week with the Spyder. I forgot all about it until you commented. If I recall, I used the second key and it worked fine. Then I went back to the first key, and it also worked fine. It was just fluke. I hope it’s the same for you.
Stunning views!! Looks like the Spyder did great! Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for watching!
Freaking amazing 👍 I can see why my cousin has stayed in New Hampshire since 1983. Great job 👌
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this video.

Epic ride Chris!! Now, I want to take my Spyder up that mountain! What spectacular views! Cheers Chris!
You definitely should. Just ride carefully.
Great video Chris. That view was spectacular.
Thank you!
WOW - thanks for sharing those great views Chris! Looks like it was an awesome ride. And it even came with a sticker! Ride safe.
Yes it was!
for a minimalist you certainly get some maximum quality views...thanks for the video

It was an incredible ride. I’ll have to Google Mt. Mitchell and add it to my wishlist of places to visit.

I love their gunsight logo, sticking with their historic legacy.
Did this trip several times on road and Cog RR!! Once with a Ford F100 PU truck with 14 people on board!! The Bike looks like more fun!!!
14 people? That must be a record.

You should give the bumper sticker to a viewer, or start a bumper sticker board in your garage…
Something to consider, thanks!
