@@baked_gemknight2648 If you look at Aptera's calculator on their website, they're not concerned with daily charging times. They calculate the number of times you have to charge per year based on your daily travel. If you travel 40 miles a day, you only have to charge every two months or so. So for a car this efficient, there's really no need for fast charging (though it will be available). @@SnD340 Why?
@@baked_gemknight2648 You've cornered yourself into a binary choice.
Why require a car that charges in 31 minutes when you can have a car that you can drive all day without charging at all?
@@baked_gemknight2648 If you look at Aptera's calculator on their website, they're not concerned with daily charging times. They calculate the number of times you have to charge per year based on your daily travel. If you travel 40 miles a day, you only have to charge every two months or so.
So for a car this efficient, there's really no need for fast charging (though it will be available). Because unless you're doing the Cannonball Run, you're never going to need to charge except at night.
If you're on a road trip, you're going to drive a full day without needing to recharge. So while fast charging would be nice, it's not at all needed.

No need for solar + lead acid batteries, just add a small inverter within the vehicle and fetch about 2000w of power from its main lithium battery.

@@avib3799 Don't have to, it's classified as a motorcycle. It's looking like there's a lot of interest in it too...
@@crash4dafun they're clearly marketing it as a car how would it be classified as a bike, it has a roof and 3 wheels
When Aptera was first on the scene I was a young man with big dreams. Now when I might have the opportunity to actually buy one, it's going to be my midlife crisis sports car.
But I love the idea that all the research and development is going into efficiency instead of a giant engine.
I hope you will expose more about your projects in all social media platforms, so that you could invite more people to this wonderful legacy of yours and humanity, Cheers!!!
40 miles a day off solar is such a game changer. ALSO the fact that you are embracing the right to repair is so big for EV buyers. I want to see these cars everywhere in the near future, and i'd love to own one.
It is as high as 60 if you opt for the additional optional solar panels. Yeah, this vehicle is kind of amazing. Likewise not everyone can have a charger at home, and its better for people in cities where you are parking outdoors, not in a garage.
Realistically you won't get 40 miles a day. This is probably based on 12 hours in the sun in a very sunny location.
10-20 miles per day is more realistic, provided you park outside.
If you park in a garage or in shade (as most people do), its probably close to zero.
@@christinepaluch7967 Correct me if I'm wrong but thought it was able to be charged by 110v?
@@udishomer5852 most people don't park in garages, also the fact that you can just charge this from a standard wall outlet and it will get 150 miles overnight is unprecedented (for reference, a Tesla can only get three miles per hour while this thing can get 26 per hour from a standard wall outlet.)
I really hope to see an Aptera soon on the street.
The design is just awesome. I already loved it many years ago when I saw it the first time. Wish those two guys success.
If Telsa is the 'answer', I don't think the Question was fully understood...Douglas Adams-ish
That's a brilliant ideea. Most of the people drive alone more than 90% of the time, it makes no sense to carry some empty seats and waste energy.
Sounds like you dont socialize alot if you never use the seats in your car
"Solar panels charge 40 miles' range in a day. It's like parking your car and it fills up two gallons overnight."
> solar panels
> overnight
Yeah, let me know when you understand how metaphores work.

Nice observation 👍
The metaphor is good, but it has indeed it flaws 😀
Great for my wife and I to do our daily trips around town and grocery shopping!
I’m actually excited about this company.
Do you also run investment scams?
@@sandervanderkammen9230 they always do well selling the dream with all the sparkle & glitter then you're hooked, then they wait till enough capital is made then bankrupt close shop with your money gone. Only 1% of starters actually deliver in the end it's sad reason why I never back anything anymore.
Soon it will be excitement then failure.
@W 26 I would have to agree on that, those ''special AI designed parts'' like the wheel shocks are probably a lot better than typical parts, but impossible to effectively mass produce. Thats what I was thinking the whole video.
B E A U T I F U L ! Just stepping into electric motorcycling here, and this one is on my list, for sure! CONGRATS! The line of thought here is perfect.
