European motorcyclist buys his first Harley Davidson Softail Heritage Classic

My motorcycle and car taste usually runs more European or Japanese, so how and why did I end up with a Harley Davidson instead of my more usual BMW or Honda touring bike?

Thank you. Fortunately this time, it's minor damage to the bike only and entirely repairable. Deer are unfortunately a fact of life around here and the reason I usually avoid riding at dusk or dawn.

I rode Harleys for over 30 years before I bought my K . . 2 different worlds.
I'd say leave the wind shield of, get in the wind :)

Depends on the weather - in the summer, I'll definitely have to take it off but it's nice to have the option for a long distance ride to reduce the fatigue.
