    At&t stadium does open the roof. If you watch any of their games. Mostly during mid-season and night games. And BOTH windows at each end of the stadium are on tracks and slides open. For an open air experience. Once again , along with the roof. During mid-season and night games. The center hung scoreboard has nothing to do with the roof.

    I went to a bowl game on New Years Even at State Farm in AZ. It was a beautiful, pleasant afternoon as we tailgated. The dome was closed for the entire game.

    I think thee will be more translucent roofs rather than retractable ones in future stadiums. They are not needed, and probably more expensive.

      They're definitely more expensive and you are correct.

    Like I said before there’s nothing like playing football in an outdoor stadium. 90% of the time retractable stadiums never open.

    5:56 NRG Stadium is the ultimate home field advantage for the Houston Roughnecks and Houston Gamblers. They have proven time and again that they perform at their best in front of their home crowd. Don't miss the opportunity to witness their dominating performances on their home turf. Catch them in action at NRG Stadium and experience the thrill of victory firsthand.

      Dump, perhaps not as bad as Oakland, but it's certainly in the bottom tier of stadiums 20+ years later. How many beautiful 68 degree days have the texans had and the roof is closed? The noise excuse is silly. It ain't helping guys, kind of like the letterman jackets didnt.

    I went to a 2pm game in Arizona in December of 2013. It was cloudy out but 50 degrees which is cold for Arizona. I sat in the upper deck and was praying for warmth. But that was not to be because the roof was open. Ugh. No sunshine at all. But that's football I guess. Lol 👍

For an open-air experience. Once again, along with the roof. During mid-season and night games. The center-hung scoreboard has nothing to do with the roof. Years ago, the weather in DFW was 75⁰ and sunny at game time, but the roof was closed for the Cowboys game. I thought it was a missed opportunity. The portion of Mercedes Benz's roof that opens is referred to as Optimus Prime's Sphincter. It's getting really hot in Texas. The AT&T stadium is air conditioned and that doesn't work properly if the roof is open. I was in the stadium when their roof was open but let's face it Summer in the South is brutal. Every NFL stadium should have a retractable roof. Lotta poor cold weather affecting games badly. I think you have to do one for MLB now. I have been inside of AT&T stadium twice and I had no idea it had a retractable roof.
    The Falcons were better off not adding that "peephole" of an opening. Total waste of money, given they spent about 25 years in the fully covered Georgia Dome. Football should only be played outside on real grass at Cowboy Stadium rarely In 2020, the Big 10 Title game that year between Ohio State and Northwestern was a noon e.t. kickoff (11 am in Indy) That jumbo tron in Dallas is just horrible. If you need it to be that big just stay at home and watch your HD TV. I realize that big stadium screens are necessary but that's too much. 1:14 I find it weird that you say "Arizona does that weird Daylight Savings thing" because Arizona DOESN'T observe Daylight Saving (not plural) Time. Technically, the rest of the continental United States are the weird ones because we change our clocks twice a year, while Arizona doesn't. Great video I had to LOL when you said NRG is a dump. Maybe a tad extreme, but compared to the rest of this list, it's at the bottom There's nothing like football in 2026 and 2027 the open on natural grass. Amazing Open domes are awesome yet they never use it Jerryworld HAS blinds already... they just never close them for Cowboy games for some dumb reason. ...and do you just have something against Houston in general? Seems like you do. 🥵🥶Why bother having these then? It’s tens of millions of dollars more for a retractable roof yet they never use them and when they do they have to worry about shadows. Pointless and dumb. Of course, it opened before It better not rain during a game in Sofi stadium it floods. damn, why the hate for NRG Why does he not understand climate?
    Retractable Roofs are overrated Ron Swanson said: "Never Half-Ass Two Things, Whole-Ass One Thing" That weird daylight savings thing? You mean we are the only logical state (only in this category) that doesn’t do the stupid daylight thing and the rest of the states are behind. What fun is the point in having one if they never open it? So stupid and pointless.

    The one at Lucas Oil is hardly ever open. I've been to late September games where it is 71 degrees and perfectly clear outside and the roof isn't open. They will sometimes open the big window, which is pretty cool. In my opinion, the roof was a colossal waste of money.

    • @aleks1939
      @aleks1939 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No kidding. Before I moved to Atlanta, the Falcons used to play outdoors at Fulton County Stadium. Watching archived footage, the weather seemed perfect and it's so nice to be outside during the daytime after our long hot summers here. Then they built the GA Dome for the Olympics followed by MBS which technically is not a retractable dome. Just a small opening that resembles a butt hole.

    • @moose2021

      Do y'all remember when the Super Bowl was played at the Georgia Dome in 2000? It was the Rams. v the Titans, and the Rams won. Atlanta got slammed with two ice storms right before the game. While I recall some weather related problems, they were relatively minor, and I don't think public transportation shut down at all. I'm not sure if private or commercial vehicles (ex: cars, trucks, taxis, commercial limos) were unable to get to the Georgia Dome for the game, and I'm not sure if the ATL airport (the world's busiest) was closed for any length of time. Regardless, I mostly remember Atlanta rising to the challenge then.
