Ivanchuk was very creative here, until he exchanged the queen for two pieces.. If only there was no passed pawn for white, black should be OK, but with a passed pawn black is simply losing. Anyway good for both.
Amine Asli Actually, Stockfish shows that Ivanchuk was doing great until the great Grischuk's move Rf1 at 6:33. After that Ivanchuk only tried to survive and exchanging queen at 7:12 was the best possible move according to the engine, though Grischuk still was +4,56 (sic!). Cheers :)
Bazyli Polednia Grischuk is Grischuk world #3 right now :) but I still appreciated Ivanchuk imagination here.. In a longer game for such postion I think Ivanchuk should have won it.
sir i am a big fan of u. Does someone has to study alots of chess books to become a grandmaster. did you also have to study the books. or is it par genius thing. Can anyone become national level master by mastering the books
Ok, I wanted to win but ok I miss some chances but Grischuk is the world blitz champion and ok in the end I was in time pressure and couldn't calculate all variations...
White will push his pawn all the way to the end and get another queen and it is just assumed that white will win after that, so the gentlemenly thing for black to do is resign, instead of wasting time. He doesn't have to resign, but they're both pros and it's pretty much guaranteed that white will win with 2 queens.
hallo!!, before you lost your advantage, you might of missed a mate on the first file, i think, with the queen on de1, and after massve exh its mate with the rook; but maybe you dont take at all, :-), i only saw it once!!.. good games at london´13.., did you have a favourtite?!, guten nacht :-).
I thank you for pointing that out, I was quite drunk indeed! and had missed that... it`s amusing to see Grischuk`s facial expression. Nevertheless even I could have got that a-pawn home.
Black doesn't lose the exchange because black will lose just a rook, but white will lose a rook and a knight. However, I checked through an engine and black is indeed advised not to take the rook here, but that's because he's down on material and the A pawn is queening.
It was better if you played the bishop on a5, instead of what you've sacrificed to figure on f2. What did you finally played. That move would destroy him.
rook takes knight. white rook takes rook. black queen takes rook. white queen takes rook. Black looses the exchange. Plus he has bishop pinned to king.
A jucat-o la coltu lung in loc sa bage calu si pionu sa le dea o sabie sa atace direct prin poarta din fata da nu hai sa iesim cu regina la produs daca il prindeau 3 pe 1 le futea o bataie o tactica foarte proasta daca eram in locu lor jucam 3-4-3 cu messi in poarta si ronaldo in atac mai trebuie experienta baieti daca vreti sa jucati ca mine mda pacat oricum aveti talent
I feel bad for Ivanchuk, he takes it personal! he gets stressed out! I want to give him a hug!
I have long admired Ivanchucks competative nature❤ thanks for this LIVE POSTING❤ john barnett revisted april 28 2024 ❤
gracias por compartir esta interesante partida.

brillant sacrifices from ivanchuck
epic. at one moment ivanchuk is winning. but after ivanchuk sacrifice his queen, thats it.
How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
+Mattias Sollerman A woodchuck could chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck wood
+Brick Filmerz if* a woodchuck could chuck wood lol
Ivanchuk could chuk wood if chuk would allow chuck to chuk wood if chuk could
Sehr schnelle Öffnungen. Perfekt
I love the Spanish game, it has its own special beauty to me.
1) e4; c6 (pour jouer d5 au coup suivant ce qui est la défense Caro-khan)

Ivanchuk is the king!
StopFear He's one of the two players. The one on the right.
if only he is very nervous.

You will always be a chess giant in the eyes of the chess world. And that includes me. . . . .
No era un saludo, Ivanchuk le estaba preguntando si ponía en marcha el reloj. El saludo se hace al sentarse a la mesa.
son unos monstruos
So did he resign because he would have lost on time, or because he had a worse position? I don't think any of them could have mated in the time left.
I am sorry, I am new to chess.
Who won? black or white?
Or was is a draw?
How you can tell by watching?

amazing game i wonder how he miss Ivanchuk after Raf1 the obvious Qc5 to press the white pass pawn and exchange queens
Does Ivanchuk try some crazy sacrifice in all these blitz games?
El rey de los juegos y juego de reyes. Sólo para caballeros!
сколько трагизма в одной партии!

good games at london´13.., did you have a favourtite?!, guten nacht :-).
Good defence by Grischuk a normal soul would have lost after ...Nf2 in this time control
Does Grischuk decline a handshake in the beginning?
They probably did it when they arrived the board
who wins ?
Blocking f7 pawn?
Total agreement!
first thing I googled after watching this was 'Ivanchuk wins'. Just wanted to see him happy to give me closure! :)
is this 3+1?
Gg Ivanchuk!
Old Steinitz Defense?
He didn't pick his nose all the time. That is a record..
Pretty clever tactic at 5:41
I thank you for pointing that out, I was quite drunk indeed! and had missed that... it`s amusing to see Grischuk`s facial expression. Nevertheless even I could have got that a-pawn home.
que mal Grischuk al no corresponder el saludo, :(, yo q te consideraba un ejemplo
Is this real Vassily who is writing?
NO. That was just a gesture by Ivanchuk to start the clock.
Turnuvaya hazırlanıyorum.
I believe you Ivanchuk
knight b1 for the killer blow. all down hill from there.
cool story bro, know another?
so nervwrecking even watching this..
I suffer really hard even thinking about playing blitz, no one can force me to do it :-)
It blocks the rooks from entering the 7th rank.
I didn't really like Ivanchuk's Rxf2 Nxc3 Rxf1+ Qxf1 Rxc3 line, is there something wrong with simply Qb4 instead of Rxf2?
If Qb4 the then Qxc8+
Oh derp, my bad, it's difficult to visualize the board in these youtube videos :)
chuk chuk
Pobre Chuky me puse en sus zapatos
lol at 5:35....to take or not to take?
Ivantchuk was very nervous
Black doesn't lose the exchange because black will lose just a rook, but white will lose a rook and a knight.

Maybe ivanchuk over look the QxRf1 on 7:15
chucky seems like such a nervour wreck at times!
Didnt girichuk gave a check in the end but still the black played the rook..
Grischuk %100
massa
Kh1 is not a blunder if Qxf2 then Qxc8 pinning the unprotected bishop to the king and threatening checkmate by taking the pinned bishop
It was better if you played the bishop on a5, instead of what you've sacrificed to figure on f2. What did you finally played. That move would destroy him.
at 6:32 why he didnt took the rook?
rEASCWA19 white would have taken blacks rook on the 8th file too... that’s why.
Maybe he used his bishop a bit late.
mssmaths If Rxd2, then Rxd2, Qxd2, Qxc8 losing an exchange.
you're right I'm sorry
A pity for Chuky who was on the driver sit after playing the nice ...Nxf2! combination
Instead of ...Bf6? Nb1! wich is winning for white should have played ...Qc5 since Rxf7 Bf6 leaves both the rook and the d2 knight under attack
Who won and why?
Alessandro Sana grischuk , il bianco perché l' altro gliela data vinta
8.22 The chucy slump-but really what did he expect?
Saakashvili played ok, and it was as if I was watching a thriller movie.
a lot of stress.
At 6:40 why didn't he just take the knight with the rook?
Because white would recapture with the rook. If the black queen takes d2, then white queen takes rook on c8, with attack on the bishop.
i thought Philidor defense was the weakest opening therefore wasn't played any more
8:01
blunder move for Ivanchuk.
Ээхх,а была ведь выигранная позиция у иванчука !) Жаль,проиграл
Иларион Родин перемудрил
who won
the one who shakes hand first is resigning.
rook takes knight. white rook takes rook. black queen takes rook. white queen takes rook.
Black looses the exchange. Plus he has bishop pinned to king.
Not a Queen sacrifice at all... The Queen and Rook were hanging, and Ivanchuk played the best trade for him.
hmm ruy lopez we meet again...
Why didn't Grischuk defend his horse at 2:16? Queen>Horse
is that really chucky?!
Kh1 is not a blunder i think
I think Rb8 would have been a much better move than Bf6
A jucat-o la coltu lung in loc sa bage calu si pionu sa le dea o sabie sa atace direct prin poarta din fata da nu hai sa iesim cu regina la produs daca il prindeau 3 pe 1 le futea o bataie o tactica foarte proasta daca eram in locu lor jucam 3-4-3 cu messi in poarta si ronaldo in atac mai trebuie experienta baieti daca vreti sa jucati ca mine mda pacat oricum aveti talent
3 + 2
enves de Bf6 ele teria que ter jogado Bb6
Ivanchuk rules. Even though Grischuk's wife is a CUTE GM :)))
6:32 why not Qxf2
Qxf2 Qxc8 must be better for black.
but white is one piece up, threatening mate
don Patonom I did mean white, lol
Rc8 is hanging
The chuks
Haha i think thats just his shirt bro.
7.45 ...h4 la honte, il scorno...we`ve all been there...if he plays xxx then I`ll resign etc etc...
ivanchuk was shacking...... hahaha...
6:50 Af6?? Qc5 better! white cant move Rxf7 becouse after that Bf6 and lose the horse
to me, he lost at 6:48. (ivanchuk)
7 mins out run with the a pawn...it`s so basic that I`ve done it twice myself today...
нас мало но мы в тельняшках...
:)
Made
:D
Бедный Чаке;(
A whole lot of Chuk´s in this video.. I guess Chuk won... and lost...
chuck norris liked the video
Old timer and youngster more advantage
ivanchuk could have won.... Kh1 is not a good move, even a blunder if im stricter...
Bullied to the ground
all videos on ChessVibes are usseless... why dont you give a chess display on their game like anyone... we cant see like this well.
