@ICarnag3I its an english opening, but Aronian replied with 1..c6,playing a Caro kann, and Grischuk liked to stay with the english playing 2.Nf3 and later g3.Looks like white sacrificed a pawn but no,he can win it later with more development, note that the d pawn moved two times in the opening(black) and white continues developing:)
aronian kept the initiative building up an attack, and didnt allow grishuk to counterplay despite having the Queen. The funny thing With aronian, he Plays imaginative and creative and takes o lots of risks doing so, which is evident in this game.
Are you sure? How do you know? I ask because Rh5 disallows hxg3. I see no other opening for Grischuk. If you were there, did you see any other Aronian games? Thank you for allowing me to ask the question, I can tell by your post that you've been asked before!
I was just analyzing this game earlier and whenever I analyze a blitz game, I always see things and wonder how much more intricate and in-depth that same position could be in a game with more time. I think those positions are somewhat not utilized to full potential during the average match, unless done from memory.
Final position seems to be rather unclear. For example white can play Qd3. Yes, black can take h2 with check, but a follow up is not so easy to see. Also white has counterplay with ideas like Qd7 and Rf7. Anyway, great game.
Why is Aronian coughing all the dam time? What does he have a perpetual sore throat or something? like most player have water or soda, he should have a pack of Halls cough drops next to his side at all times.
What if Aronian is actually Bobby Fischer disguised as Aronian (and real Aronian was buried in Iceland) ? What if Grischuk is actually the fake name that Spassky uses so as to keep taking part in chess tournaments? What if the people in the background are all actors who get paid for standing like assholes there? What if chess doesn't exist and the pieces we perceive on the squared board are just draughters disguised as towers, knights, pawns, rooks, queens and so on?
"Got my queen trapped. Okay, time to start playing now."

I like the way Aronian coughed at the end of the game after the hand shake lol!
what does it signify to you?
Are you talking about the final position? That position isn't equal - White's getting killed, after ...Rxh2, etc.
Ну Аронян! Ну надо же!
Ничего не видно..Грищук проиграл по времени?

@BoggsDiamond Please tell me you did not just refer to Aronian as "the guy on the left"
who won?.. was won on time right?
Fabuloso el juego de ambos. En el 9.18 se nota el "el fin de los tiempos"...
you can tell by their body movement aronian won, probably on time. grischuk tried to slam his last move down in obvious time trouble.

Neil Armstrong, watching top left, gets a call from NASA at 3:50 ;)
The position is equal, but he lost on time. Great comeback by Aronian!
Brillante Aronian 😎
1:30 grischuk in his mind : what the...
There is Marc Zukerberg whatching!
poor clocks being abused and beaten, we need to stop this!
the angle could be better
Man, Aronian is mad!! :)

+Pablo Picasso He probably just said: fuck it, I need a shot of vodka.
Carlsen crushed Aronian but Grischuk crushed Carlsen and Aronian crushed Grishchuk? Whos the best of them?
+Up Whats Nah u dont get it
that guy in the checkered shirt was pissing me off the entire video...
good game
he made that expression 4 times in the game lol
Playing on real chessboards (and with audience around) vs. digital chessboards is quite another game...Is this game online?
Aronian best
No. Obviously, Grischuk forfeits on time.
@BoggsDiamond its Moscow, he doesn't like it
Tricky opening...
Аронян за игру умудряется кашлянуть 10-15 раз. Его соперникам пора медицинские маски выдавать.
What a queen sacrifice, cool game, thats why I like Levons games
its queen loss....not a sacrifice
axaxa blea kak zametil))
Levon....just a beast.

Professional chessplayers can't enter a tournament and then quit midway because they get a cough. There's too much at stake.
LOL! It's true!
esto no pareceblitz sinceramente pero buenapartida
Grischuk... he always look drunk...
no black won
is it blitz? just kidding.
fake coughing at the end. haha. idk.

No it's equal. Black can't win if white plays well. Don't forget that white has a queen and the black king will be vulnerable. Ask any engine.
Аронян и грищук дурачки
Трудно оценить, почти не видя доску и совсем не видя часы.
