  • Generally, this pencil is really well-designed and feel great in hand. But it is not for everyone. My recommendations in this video don't applied to everyone, to be honest, I believe everyone would consider a lot before paying for such a high-end pencil. If you know you always hold your pencil at very low angle (like 30 degree) then the automatic system would either be useless or annoy you if you try to use it.

    Good to see a new video. :) You can also unscrew the brass bit to reveal the clutch/chuck - there's a spring behind/around it, but it all assembles very easily, so don't worry at all (and it's 0.5 mm, so you can just use it like a normal pencil anyway).

      Thanks for your advice! Then it would be easy to clear the clutch if any jam happens 😀

    I liked the Orenz's original philosophy, but this is even better. The spring loaded sleeve is just a logical development, when you think about it.
    And while the Orenz's selling point is the sleeve for protection, I can see this as a useful feature even in pencils with thicker leads! Especially with the clickable tailcap for fine adjustment. That's a point where the US-made Sensematic pencil (don't remember the brand) misses the mark.

    I recently bought one from the Amazon Japan, since I was really fascinated by the automatic mechanism. Overall, a good pencil for the enthusiasts and collectors, however I am not sure how I feel about the automatic lead dispensing mechanism, probably not used to it, that's why.

    I actually have four of the Orenznero, a 0.2mm, a 0.3mm, and two 0.5mm. One of my 0.5mm is really used heavily, so the body has become shiny. The Orenznero is one of my only black colored pencils. Most of my pencils are blue, purple, pink, and green and other fun colors. I fell in love with the automatic function and the retractable lead sleeve. My Pilot S3 which is one of my favorite pencils does not have a retracting lead sleeve so I must be careful when I take it with me. Maybe you can do a video in your native language sometime. I speak a few different languages. Maybe it's a language I know

      I will consider about that 😊. At the same time, I’m interested in your pencil collection as well. I have a feeling that your few languages can be go up to a lots of languages 😅

      @@fanofpencils-cleo774 I have a lot of the Studio Ghibli and some Sanrio special edition pencils. Other times when they make a special edition color for a pencil I like, I pick one up. I have a few Uni Kuru Toga pencils, and I prefer the all plastic ones. I used to have an Advanced model and I didn't like it very much. My favorite Uni is the Alpha Gel Slim though. For Pentel, I have the Orenzneros and some of the Orenz models. I recently got the 0.7mm Orenz to use colored leads in because the Pilot Color Eno leads are quite breakable. Most of my collection though is Pilots though. I have both the 0.5mm and 0.3mm Fure Fure Corone, the 0.3mm AirBlanc, the Symmetry, and the DelFul. I also have some leadholders like the Staedtler 788 (all plastic), Lamy Scribble 3.15, Rotring Primus, Stabilo EasyErgo, and things like that. Anyway, side note, but if you want a "multi-pencil" I recommend the Pentel i+ 3. I have one filled with just the mechanical pencil mechanisms and I put Uni NanoDia Color in them. The mechanisms are more stabilized than other multi pencils (except the discontinued Uni Color 3), so it does not break the colored leads. It's super fun if you want color, but the colored leads are not very vivid 😄

    I like the smash more, the metal grip of smash is more comfortable. The grip of orenz nero feels more like plastic to me. The weight and bakance of smash is better too. I also like Rotring 600 and staedtler 625 more than orenz nero.

    Oh. Good pencil but it was bad surprise about its price. Just too much for me but it can be compared with other such pencils which may be even more expensive. So I like the pencil and the idea itself. I believe it comes fine with thin leads of high consumption. I aprecciate the comfort of not clicking a lead out all the time while writing - it distracts especially if you need to write quickly. Good for students although with ordinary rollerball pens it comes even faster usually.

      The point about rollerballs is true, but this has the advantage of being erasable for any necessary corrections!

    Hello, does it have play in the graphite outlet or is it tight? Between it and the Rotring 600, which do you prefer?

    • @fanofpencils-cleo774
      @fanofpencils-cleo774  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello 👋🏻, the lead stays very securely in this pencil 😊. I currently don’t have a Rotring 600 to be able to compare them but Pentel Nero is a good and sturdy pencil :)

      @@fanofpencils-cleo774 what choice, 0.3 or 0.5 for writing and calcs?

    • @fanofpencils-cleo774
      @fanofpencils-cleo774  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is very subjective… if you have a medium handwriting then 0.5 would suit you. In other case, 0.3mm will suit smaller handwriting. Just pick softer lead for 0.3mm to avoid the scratchy feeling caused by friction between the lead and paper. Hope this helps! 😁
