- DJI Spark Tutorial | How to Use AEB Mode for Better Photos. What is AEB? How do you use it? Why would you use it? I'm glad you asked because I'm answering all of those questions. The DJI Spark already takes really good photos, but Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) makes them even better. The result is an HDR photo. It's a great way to improve the camera quality of the DJI Spark. I show you how to merge the photos using Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop.

And today I made a great number of AEB pics. And I found ‘Luminance’ a free ‘merger’ program on W10 with tons of options and presets. Free but very powerful.
Your vid helped me a lot Gadget Inspector. And my first pics score well on fb. Three almost pitch black pics and Luminance did some magic with it. Many pics were blurred, it was windy and a Spark is small. But in that Luminance there is an option that places the pics exactly on top of each other, resulting in razorsharp pics. Only a passing lady transferred into a ghost, you can see her three times. :D

Thanks very much for this vid GI! I always wanted to try this technique. Now I only take pics in ‘perfect conditions’, but now I try to find a good tool to assemble the 3 photo bursts of AEB.
And I found a good tool for AEB. Today it rained, tomorrow is Spark day!! Thanks to your perfect vid. I really hope that many more find your blog. It is of a professional level (hope this is good English)

Idk if this was just the photos or what but all of my original un-mergered photos looked better than the aep... it either made it look pretty bright or dark but it also could’ve been the lighting or just what I took but I will definitely try this out on other scenery

DRI (dynamic range increase) great way to merge exposures in photoshop using layers. This is how I personally do this

Haven't tried it....yet! I didn't even know this was a thing on the Spark. So today (late July 2019) I am going out flying with the specific intention of trying this feature out.

The DJI Spark brackets +-0.7EV. Is there a way to increase the EV range? Does someone knows how to bracket +- 1EV or +-2EV?

I believe there are some free programs out there that can do it. You'd just have to find one that works best for you.
Do you mind posting a video on how to get the pictures onto our pc from our phone?

Hey thanks Steven. I usually don't go crazy with adjustments. I have used dehazing but not so much for Spark stuff.
How about an app for iPhone/iPad that could do the merging?

Hey again, Buckeye! As usual, very good video, clear and well-produced! Just wanted to add you can do the same thing with your Parrot BB2 - You already know how to lighten / darken the video using the SC3 controls... I find 3 "clicks" left is pretty close to 1 stop, and 3 "clicks" right is about 1 stop under-and-over exposed. So I just take my 3 shots, and then process using LIGHTROOM. I've taken to using AURORA, from Skylum software - much better than lightroom, though I still use lightroom for touchups and for the file system (I sell my photos, but not the drone ones yet - gotta get that 107 permit first!)
Yep, you are 100% correct. The same is true for any camera/drone that can adjust exposure. Are those programs you mentioned free to use?
I think Skylum's software is free for a period of time, like 30 or 60 days, while you evaluate it. Both of their offerings (AURORA and LUMINAR) have versions for PC or MAC. AURORA is the HD offering, though both programs are outstanding. Check out the TH-cam tutorials by Anthony Morganti (he does tutorials for ALL the programs) to get a feel for what they can do!
Anyone know why i only have single shot as an option?
You might have it in Tripod Mode. For some reason it doesn't work in tripod mode.

My spark turns left very slowly when hovering, cant fix it, so if i take multiple photos all of them are different :(
That sounds like a problem with one of the motors. Have you crashed the drone?
Gadget Inspector nope i never crashed it,
Check the drone panel showing the health of the motors. If any are anything other than green, that is likely the source of the problem. Otherwise, contact Parrot customer service.

I don't think so. They have another module called Color Director (I think that's the name) that might, but you can probably find a free program that does it.
