I'm a FSU fan and I remember Ed Reed's senior year thinking, finally this guy is leaving. Then the camera showed #26 on the sidelines and they said this kid Sean Taylor is the heir apparent. He was unbelievable. RIP
as a canes fan i find this hilariously honest. i used to feel the same way going up against charlie ward and warrick dunn. i used to literally fear those guys
I tear up watching this. Born into an Alabama family but I was drawn to the U as a kid. Sean Taylor is my favorite football player of all time. It's been too damn long. Glad the U is on its way back.
Antrel Rolle, Kenny Phillips, Sean Taylor, Sam Shields, Andre Johnson, Frank Gore, Ray Lewis, Warren Sapp, Reed, Bryant Mckinnie, Shockey, Winslow, Greg Olsen, Santana Moss, Devin Hester, Clinton Portis, Edgerrin James, Willis McGahee, Jonathan Vilma, DJ Williams, Meriweather, Jerome Brown, Allen Bailey, Phillip Buchanan. They all played for Miami.
Testing, testing, is this thing on... I pray that you are watching this Coach Manny Diaz. We NEED to be 'the team to beat again'. Move us forward... The 🙌
I’m a die hard LSU and Miami fan, love them both! LSU is finally back on top, now I need Miami to get back!!! Come on Diaz, hopefully Reed can help bring the talent back to the 🙌🏻
what an incredible video. God Buchanan was so underrated.. I don't even know what happened to Sykes or lewis. Ed Reed and S dot top 2 safeties in college fb history
The 2001 secondary was by far the best collection of talent I've ever seen....Antrel Rolle, Sean Taylor, Al Blades, Phillip Buchanon, Ed Reed, Mike Rumph, James Lewis, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple. The only secondary I can think that comes close would be the U.S.C. secondary in the late early 80's with Ronnie Lott, Joey Browner, Dennis Smith, Jeff Fisher, and Tim McDonald. The Canes was just next level crazy talent. Then you follow that up with future NFL players Kelly Jennings, Randy Phillips, Kenny Phillips, Devin Hester before moving to receiver in the NFL, Sam Shields who started at receiver before moving to corner. Just damn!!!!
I think that the hit Sean Taylor put on PK Sam at 2:09 was in 2003 or 2004, can't remember exactly... I just remember watching it live when I was like 13 or 14 and instantly jumping off the couch and yellin "OOOOOOHHHH!!!!" for like a good 20 seconds... The U needs to come back yo. Put it up for them Cane boys!!!
GENERALSPARTAN27 I thought that for a while but the real problem is the DL. He's got to get the big boys up front otherwise he can't do all the formations and looks he really wants to do. It's a serious problem recruiting wise. Hopefully these two big JC guys will plug the middle.
GENERALSPARTAN27 Can't judge the defensive coordinator...He has had Sun Belt quality talent to work with...Clock is on him now, but I'd expect some improvement this season and then major improvement moving forward. How can you fault him when UM is trotting out Cornelius, Highsmith, Rogers, Gaines, Green, Renfrow, etc... etc... as key players??
Sigh miss Sean. He looks so terrifyingly bigger than everyone else you could tell he was special just looking at him. Size of a small linebacker with corner speed.
I'm a Canes fan, but I don't hate the 'Noles. I make fun of them a lot, but more in a "big brother" kinda way. And besides, the enemy of my enemy (The Florida Gayturds) is my friend, ;).
BrandonTube6632 im a horns fan but I've always respected y'all for not taking Miami off the schedule like Florida did. Even when Miami was the greatest of all time
The U produced so many good and great college and pro players. Before Miami became Quarterback U, they were Defensive Lineman U, they were Wide Receivers U, they were Runningbacks U, they were Tightend U, they were Linebackers U and they were Defensive Backs U. They also produced great kick returner in Devin Hester, Santana Moss, Daryl Jones, Kevin Williams, Philip Buchanon. They had so many great defensive backs to come thru the U. They had Burgess Owen's, Bennie Blades, Ed Reed, Mike Rumph, Philip Buchanon, Antrel Rolle, Sean Taylor, Bubba McDowell and more. Many of their defensive backs were great punt blockers.
+#WHO DAT KID504 Miami is DBU, LSU nor bama has had half the talent in 10 years that Miami had on the 01 canes, and Ed reed and Sean Taylor alone are twice as good as any one DB that has come out of either school. And at the time Miami played in the big east, not the acc.
i can tell at this time they all must be HARD hitting type DB's cuz them hitting so hard, them hitting that hard might actually.. be the highlight of my day.
Bad Boy Canes Yeah, y'all fell off and the Noles have taken over. I'll admit, Sean Taylor is one of my favorite players, but ever since his class left in 04 The U haven't been the same since.
Imo it seemed to me they began to fall when the Canes and Va Tech were both moved out of the Big East and into the ACC that and the National Championship against the Suckeyes where that game was stolen from them. Looking forward to the U rising up and returning to glory. Its All About THE U.
I am a TEXAS football fan through and through but I can say that Miami is the only other school that can claim to be a real DBU school. I don't see any others that have the reputation as hard hitting and take no prisoners of play like these 2 schools. The gators can say what they want to say but yall have always been better than them. And I love how yall man handle Chokelahoma. HOOK EM'
Miami got shut out by clemson and many others....Florida has produced the best backs in the country making them the real dbu and all the backs this year will be in the nfl......
Just this year is your argument. Wow! You really are stretching one year compared to the multiple decades of these two programs. Your only relevance is a hand full of good players in your programs history. Sad is what it is.
+Rolando Salazar please tell the last year Miami was relevant.....exactly, the gators have 9 db's currently 1st string in the nfl and the number 2 player in the country and a top 10 elite defense in the country. Florida and lsu are dbu...Miami is a laughing stock and is coachless the last I heard.
Ken Dorsey, free safety Ed Reed, running back Clinton Portis, wide receiver Andre Johnson, tight end Jeremy Shockey, offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie, and linebacker Jonathan Vilma, ALL THESE MEN BECAME LEGENDS IN COLLEGE AND THE NFL Proud Hurricanes fan and proud Dolphins Fan everything is Dade County 305!!!! oh yeah i forgot by the way Bryant Mckinnie didnt allow one sack his entire college career WTF!!!!!!!
If you a true Miami hurricane back in these areas right here you could literally talk noise and you already knew that the Miami hurricane was going back it up as a die-hard fan back in this time frame you know you can talk noise and still know your team doing handle business like they supposed to
jayron hosley,macho harris,kam chancellor,willie pile,vince hall,xavier adibi,jason worldis,cody grimm,darryl tapp,jimmy williams,brandon flowers,cornell brown,deangelo hall,corey moore,bruce smith,kendall fuller,kyle fuller... need i say more? Vt all the way
Sean Taylor ,merriweather, Ed reed ,Buchanan, Sam shields, al blades, antrell role, Bennie blades, all those that I just named are easily better than any of those from vagina tech
SHITTTT!!!!! thats football i am a fan of the OLD hurricanes the hard hitting taunting and just beating ppl ass hurricanes goood times in college football until the flags started.... LOL
I'm a FSU fan and I remember Ed Reed's senior year thinking, finally this guy is leaving. Then the camera showed #26 on the sidelines and they said this kid Sean Taylor is the heir apparent. He was unbelievable. RIP

as a canes fan i find this hilariously honest. i used to feel the same way going up against charlie ward and warrick dunn. i used to literally fear those guys

what an incredible video. God Buchanan was so underrated.. I don't even know what happened to Sykes or lewis. Ed Reed and S dot top 2 safeties in college fb history
If it was the first time you say that play at 2:09, you'd know that hit was by Sean Taylor before you even saw the jersey number.
half of these plays so damn memorable you recognize whats gonna happen even if you not a miami fan
Just seen it sheesh💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
