Alfred really grew on me! Wasn't to sure about him in the beginning but he really stepped up. In the end, he truly became Alfred The Great!

Yes , the Monk/King Alfred of Wessex was a famous King since he defeated the Great Viking Army of Guthrum in 878 and later, made peace with Guthrum , and the Danelaw was created., once Guthrum the Viking Warlord , became a Christian. However, the great King AEthelstan , Anglo-Saxons King ( 894 to 939 ) is the first with the title : '' Totius Britanniae '' ! He is considered the real first King of England. ----- ( Guthrum received the baptismal name Aethelstan , however, not to be confused with the Anglo-Saxon King AEthestan from 894 to 939 )

King Alfred's speech is a bases loaded home room. The actor's delivery is surreal. Since the Hell episode performance made the quantum leap.
He took and what use to be Hemingway's" quote, "The Sun also rises," and redefined into strength. King Alfred's performance throughout out the show raised my own spiritual inquiry.

The Anglo-Saxon Alfred was the King of Wessex. Ivarr Ragnarsson was NOT a King ! He was called a Berserker in Dublin, Eire , where he died around the year 873 from a fever and infection !

In real history, Ivar ( Ivarr Ragnarsson ) the Berserker, was already dead in Dublin , Eire, around the year 873 ! He died in his bed !
