Firefly is a humanoid created also in Glamoth, her "kind" are created to pilot the Mecha, that doesn't mean she's in Sam's body I think Firefly is Sam's pilot but not directly controlling him from inside, also these talks about pod to keep Firefly save probably reefer to a different pod, not Sam's armor suit
It may be important to note I think that Glamoth's lore implies that they're not just mechanical inside their suits, but some kind of biological form that is fused into their suit. The ornaments talk about a metal "ootheca", which is a term for insect egg sacs. So we are possibly looking at a Warframe-like situation. Some kind of mutant hybrid entity fused into the suit that enables it to function, while Titania essentially gave them orders and functions. Fitting to think that the Iron Cavalry themselves are a form of insect, when they were built to combat the Swarm Disaster.
