Yknow I feel that the twist would've been a lot more cooler if the leaks didn't get everyone screaming "SAMISFIREFLYSAMISFIREFLY" in my ear every 3 seconds I mention him.

you dont even need to know the leak, a little bit of common sense and puzzle connecting is enough to realize that sam is firefly when you play the 2.0 quest.
i didn't even know it was a leak, i thought everyone was coping.
What sucks is the interweaving of a very solid theory with "oh I saw it in a dream... oh who knows what future latches will reveal." Etc. Ruins all of the fun.
It was heavily implied that Sam was Firefly. The evidence was insurmountable, and youd have to simply brush off the deliberate ambiguitiy with Sam's gender (LC desc) and overwhelming similarity in color pallette, overlap in current evidence (Glamoth soldiers story and firefly story heavily overlap and the connection simply had to be made by the viewer) or not consider it.
Which is totally fine. Most of us play these games to escape.
Story was so good, people were so excited to get evryone on the sam page.... hyv comments will have people feelong shame and restraint hopefully.
The White Night trailer for Penacony literally shows Sam with wings and sparkles that are the same colour as Firefly's highlights. Also, their colour schemes are overall extremely similar and Sam literally uses fire to attack, whilst Firefly is quite literally called Firefly, amongst other things such as Firefly's dialogue on the rooftop and the fact that Sam didn't target us in that one cutscene in 2.0, and only targeted Black Swan and Acheron.
The answer has been there all along to anyone who actually paid attention / thought for a second. I dont think leaks have anything to do with it.

Acheron is the kind of person who looks intimidating because of her skills (and rightfully so), but deep down, she's just a sad tragic softie who longs to be understood by others. Perhaps, she sensed the same kind of kinship she sees herself in, "Sam". Two notorious wanted criminals throughout the galaxy. "Sam" tried acting all menacingly in front of Acheron, but the facade fell through the moment he said he would kill "everyone", everyone except mentioning the Nameless Trailblazer. Hinting that, the person behind, "Sam", knows 'em, and wishes no harm to him/her.

@@RayRMT the giveaway is that Sam's gender is ambiguous, placed in the context of every other parallel which could be drawn between Sam and FF at the time. Watashi is not literally gendered, ie denotation, but its wrong to say it doesnt have a sort of a feminine connotation or that its feminine sounding. My source is japanese youtubers speaking about how japanese pronouns are used in the everyday life of japanese people, altough i cant recall the specific youtuber, you can probably find them. Simply Sam using Watashi is not enough to do anything other than to make the suspicious (cause of all the other evidence) more suspicious.
Regardless this ultimate ruthless hunter weve heard about (Bam bam bam and then they are dead) speaking politely and respectfully is like, huh? Same whiplash as Sam sending us cute emotes. And place that one fact "watashi"in context and it all points to one thing. For instance, the light cone featuring Sam refers to Sam using "them." Also iirc Sam has been referred to as a humanoid mecha rather than a man at least once, iirc by blade but grain of salt. Regardless, variation in pronouns for this ultimate hunter gives pause.

So Sam's purpose is to get the Astral Express into the race for the Watchmaker's Legacy. I think Stelle already has more than enough of an incentive.
Also, the fact that there was one stowaway to begin with and only two died when there technically would be two means a lot more when Acheron already knows who is under the guise of SAM with SAM not denying it and saying not the time.
The way Sam talks is so different from Firefly. In particular, the pace and intonation of his speech. (I know the story. Just using he for Firefly’s Sam mode)
if you switch to JP you can see Sam's way of talking like "watashi" which is commonly used by girl

JP Sam is polite, gentlemanly, and somehow feminine, though. So I immediately knew that Sam is Firefly when he first spoke to Acheron. They basically have the same manner of speaking and intonation. And I also recall people saying the same for CN and KR.
EN on other hand makes Sam and Firefly sound like two different entities altogether. One is cold-blooded murderer, and the other is a sweet girl.

@@VergilDebates Well, given the fact that, "Sam", didn't target the Nameless Trailblazer in their lil bout, and the other fact that Acheron KNOW who is underneath the armor, and also the fact that Firefly doesn't have much implied time to live, which is also heavily implied here between Acheron and "Sam". I guess it wouldn't be TOO crazy to think that Firefly is "Sam". BUT, the main question to consider here if that theory holds true however, is HOW? We ALL witnessed Firefly got killed off. So who the heck is underneath the mecha? Or rather, controlling it? 😵💫
@@Evil_Beauty well now that we know that sam is firefly, that question is still bugging me a lot how the hell is firefly is still alive and comeback fast enough to be sam again. The only answer I can think of is maybe sparkle is involved maybe the firefly that we saw that got killed is sparkle's clone all along and somehow in cahoots with the stellaron hunters just for fun. I really don't know, god I really can't wait for 2.2 story quest.

Because if we consider that possibility, then it would contradict what she said to Fruiterine regarding the, "mute", that knows the truth but was unable to speak it. She could be referring to either Robin, or in this case, FIREFLY. The two victims of the meme monster. I'm hoping Hanabi was referring to Robin, and not Firefly. Not to mention, didn't Firefly said she was born into the world without the ability to, "dream"? So it makes me question how the frick was she able to enter the Dreamscape to begin with? Even the Astral Express crew couldn't find any records of her being in Penacony at the registration counter. And as a stowaway, how did she get passed The Family's tight security? AGH! So many unanswered questions. It feels like the more we dive deeper into the main story, the more questions we have than answers. 😵💫

Also, Gallagher was responsible for Firefly's, "death". But how could she still be in the Dreamscape when we know any, "death", caused in the Dreamscape would wake the person in reality up?

I’m thinking Sam might actually be duke inferno since they both wish to die and burn into ash, follow the path of destruction and are both fire characters. I’m thinking Acheron tried to kill duke but he survived severely injured wearing Sam’s armour to keep himself alive. I now believe he definitely isn’t firefly since firefly had many dreams and was afraid of the real world while Sam states he was born without the ability to dream and even elio confirms Sam is a man

@@Mrwaffle7843 In other languages his voice is calm, sad, and intelligent. It's as if Firefly is speaking, only with a different timbre. But in English he wheezes and drawls out his words like some kind of clichéd villain. This is not the first time I have noticed that Hoyovers does not prepare English voice actors well and does not try to bring different localizations to a single sound.
I agree, literally shocked hearing Sam's EN Voice. Though I like his voice and the intonations he made, his character comes off so different with say JP Voice.
In JP he talks so calmly and in a very respectful manner even with his enemies, yet in EN I just hear typical robot alien villain ready to destroy shits
Meh. To me, he’s good. The mechanical tone of the voice is pretty much generic to other languages.
I mean come on. If you’d meet an English-speaking person in a mech suit with a mechanical voice tone, you’d expect him to speak Asian for you?
