- Unfortunately, this looks like it may be my last upload for awhile. This is NOT goodbye, I'm just taking a break. In any case, this is the game in which Florida crushes Cincinnati in Tim Tebow's finale in the Sugar Bowl. I own none of the footage and claim fair use. Credit goes to FOX.
I'm not ashamed to say that I cried pretty hard after this game, knowing it was Tebow's last for UF. I miss that guy...

As a Bearcats fan, this one really hurts to remember. Not just because we were so outplayed, because also it reminds me of Brian Kelly telling the team he was staying and then running to Notre Dame when we didn't make the National Title Game.

Nah, it would have been the committee that did the poll and no way would they put a Cincinnati team with a crappy schedule in the bowl game unless another team had 2 losses.
Three of the teams would have been UF, Bama, and Texas. I can't remember the other top teams, but watching this game, you could tell the BCS got it right.
The BCS, for the most part, got it right. At least they got rid of the crappy "vote for a champion" nonsense. I didn't start watching CFB until 2005, but I can't believe that champions were pretty much voted for the longest. I mean bowl games were consolation prizes/exhibition matches, played after the championship game.

If we had the playoff system they have now, Auburn is playing USC in the championship game back in 04, Florida and Bama are playing a rematch in 08, LSU and Bama still rematch in 2011, and Notre Dame doesn't make it to the NCG in 2012.
They'll have to upgrade this playoff to 8 teams real quick because FSU didn't even deserve to be a top 4 team and we saw it play out immediately.

Even if Brian Kelly was coaching this game, Cincy didn't stand a chance in this game. Florida was coming off a bad performance in the SEC Championship Game against Alabama and this was Tim Tebow's final game. There was no way he was going out on a losing note. Nothing against Cincy, but the Gators were just a pissed off team and we're not going to lose in Tebow's finale.
Cincy would have lost probably, but it would have been a lot closer. I remember this year really well, Cincy had a special team. But their hearts were ripped out just a couple days before, we all knew they werent gonna have the energy and focus needed to win this game. Fuck Brian Kelly man

Ironically, if Notre Dame falls to Clemson in the ACC Title game on Saturday, which I think they will and if Cincy beats Tulsa in the AAC. They have an opportunity to play Notre Dame in a New Year's Six Bowl. Brian Kelly could be playing his former school, Cincinnati.
I was driving back from Tampa when this game was being played so I was listening on the radio, this is actually the first time I've seen any of this one. I'm surprised at how Cincy came out. They were unbeaten but they called the plays on offense as if they had no chance.
I mean they just didn't our head coach lied and ditched the team before this game because they missed out on the national championship even though he said he wouldn't leave. The team was mentally out of this game before it even started with a team in shambles trying to scramble and put together a coaching staff so yeah they were kinda fucked before it began.

To be fair to cincy they were a good team, but Florida and Alabama were by far the best teams and the SEC championship was like the national Championship. I have no doubt Florida would have beat Texas just as easily as bama did

tauras88d expression talent wise. The Bearcats team was talented but this Florida team was stacked. A lot of these guys are playing in the NFL today. Plus The Gators had lost out on a chance to play for the National Title when they lost to Alabama in the SEC Championship, so they were coming in with some motiviation. Also this was Tebow's last game ever and there was no way he was going out on the losing side. Those 2 elements equaled bad news for the Bearcats. Also Cincy had just lost their head coach to Notre Dame so that kind of took some life out of them as well.

Cincinnati did well considering they were playing a team full of future NFL players and their head coach lied to their faces and abandoned them before the bowl game. The difference between the two teams' recruiting showed itself in the trenches damn near every play.

The Sugar Bowl Committee that year should have been back handed repeatedly for matching Cincinnati Mildcat posers against the Gators. This game was an insult to anyone that wanted to see a match up that would have been more competitive. I'm just sorry the Gators didn't score two more TDs to make the humiliation complete just to embarrass those drunks on the committee that somehow thought Cincinnati belonged here.

To see Bearcats as a top 3 football college here is surprising to my eyes and they must've grinder hard that year but lost in the end I know it hurt that team cuz one loss drops their ranking hard since they're not a sec or big ten team
ICEMANX2187 they were only in the top 5 because of the other teams that lost out in their conf. championships. they were strictly a top 10 team. They shouldn't have played Florida in that game. We beat them like it was a regular season game against a mediocre Cincy team
