that person is a retired F1 commentator. his name is murray walker. he commentated from the mid 1950's till 2001 with the BBC and then ITV. best F1 commentator ever!!
He simply is the best driver ever! And that documentary explains it in a great way! There were many great drivers, but only two who were really not from this planet - these two were Schumacher and Senna! But Schumacher was more complete than Senna, thats why he is overall better than Senna.
I think there was a completeness with Schumacher's driving that was special. Not just speed, but in the wet, in the dry, in a tricky situation, fighting through the field. But the comparison to Senna is not really valid because nobody can know for sure who was the best because Senna did not get to continue. I think Schumy is one of the best ever drivers, but not necessarily the best ever as there were other complete Masters like Senna.
Whatever you think of Schumi his fellow drivers obviously respect him and that says alot. I'm no fanboy by any means but somebody whose earned the respect of his entire sport has got to say something.
statistically he is the best and will be for the next 100years probably. but he is tied with senna for number one, and mansell they were spectacular to watch. great vid thanks for uploading
@plmcmm 2Pac WAS NOT a villain. We can only speculate on MJ. Senna and Schumacher were both dirty in their own right. I am a Schumacher and Senna fan but, I'm tired of people praising one and spitting on the other as if they both weren't as competitive, awesome, fast, determined, die-hard, rule-breaking, ruthless and, dirty as each other. They both had all kinds of controversy surrounding their careers.
he's a bril commentator. in his later years he had a habit of making mistakes, but i remember in monza 98 when hakkinen spun across the gravel he started shouting like mad, and again in 99 when the ferrari mechanics "FORGOT" eddie irvine's tyre. i always believed that it happened on purpose, schumy and ferrari didnt want eddie to win the title. maybe im biased cos im irish though :)
just similar feeling for me! i hated when he overtook jean in nurburgring! and i hated the occasions (several) he beated mika in the 90´s! my fauvorite pilot since gilles is probably mika hakkinen! but since early in the 90´s I had to recognize that michael is the more incredible driver i could see since the 70´s, and for me the best driver in history
The facts are what make Schumacher what he is, the greatest. The rest are opinions. People will surely disagree, because opinions come and go with emotions.
,,,che spettacolo il sorparro esterno alla chicane su Alesi....per la serie "levati che ora passo io" grande Mik !!!!! per me, 6 e resterai il + forte di tutti....
@dojOdRiFTeR Maybe a contributing factor is that Schumi finnished his career? And look at the guys he was racing against. Senna raced against many world champions (prost, mansell, piquet it goes on) Name more than 4 champions Shumi raced against in the peak of his career? Schumi is good but there was no drivers of the same caliber to compete against
All of a sudden Alesi sees this Benetton and had no option but to give way, that sounds like Senna to Alesi , Schumi was sth like Senna if not evything.
Senna crash was because of low tire pressure and the car bottomed out and went of, schumacher's was because the rear breaks had failed and people forget, senna great driver he is was just as crazy when he hit prost in 1990 i believe at suzuka 1st corner, senna leter admitted he hit porst on purpose, both great no infact the best drivers, would have been nice to see a championship battle between them
@CarloSpicyWein3r More than 4 world champions Schumi raced against from 1991 to 2006: Senna, Piquet, Mansell, Prost, Hill, Villeneuve, Häkkinen, Alonso, and a few that later become world champion: Räikkonen and Button... He didn't race against them for a long period, but he raced against them, and sometimes he beat them in a considerably worse car, as some kind of rookie driver...
@superhot2004jpjp Maybe he is, but that doesn't mean he has no talent. The way he coped with his f1 cars reflected that. Not many people drive cars with oversteer, sacrificing stability for speed. Schumacher was one of those people who could make the necessary corrections whereas other drivers would just spin out. He didn't cheat on every race and qualifying in his career. There are plenty of instances of him dominating through sheer skill.
i think the reason why schumacher was so good was because he was a very complete driver, very good technically but also lots of natural ability whereas alesi had more natural ability then schumacher, he was very poor technically, hill on the other hand was probaly even better then schumacher technically but did not have the natural ability
@mblisniuk you cant say that senna is the best and you cant say that schumacher is the best.senna and schumacher are the best drivers in f1 history,but you cant say,which driver is better.
in terms of pure racing speed alesi was better then schumacher, what most people fail to mention about nurburgring 95 is that alesi was the only driver to start on slick tires on a wet track, and then the track dried out and alesi was in the lead, another thing that they don't mention is that alesi was on very used tires while schumacher had fresh tires, and on top of that alesi was held up by hakkinnen and was also running out of fuel because of the thirsty v12 engine!
Seem to recall Senna did everything possible to win. Much like Michael. I won't dispute illegal driver aids as I don't have any facts in regards to that. Buuut saying Senna waits for others to crash? That's a bit much. What with Suzuka and all. Personally I don't really like trying to figure out who is the "greatest" as there are so many factors. Though if Senna was one of, if the not the QUICKEST driver of all time. I wouldn't be surprised. And as far as great. Don't forget Sir Jackie :)
Schumacher scored more points than Senna from his 3rd race in 1991 until last race against Senna on 1st may 1994, being a rookie. In 1996 Schumacher would have destroyed Senna. If Senna had not died, everyone now would consider Schumacher better than Senna. And almost every people would consider Schumacher the greatest driver in history!
@plmcmm That's a great point. The only time people give respect (before they die) is when the person is old or disabled. I bet if MJ had parkinsons they wouldn't have been so harsh on him.
@mblisniuk Not strictly true. Mika Hakkinen and Kimi Raikonnen were more than capable of challenging Schumacher. However, Hakkinen retired and Raikonnen's cars tended be unreliable. The true talent of Schumacher was his ability to build a team around him that could provide him with what was necessary to win.
You get the point that SO many misses: that its impossible to compare - at least accurately - from era to era, different teams, regulations etc. etc.! I really dislike when some one rates a driver as "THE BEST EVER"! So Schumacher vs. Senna! They were champions in their own different ways! Anyone who claims one or the other to be the best as an universial fact, is talking crap!
if schumacher had raced in aluminium constructed cars he would have been dead after 1 or 2 seasons and no-one would have rememberd him.....similary if Jim Clark had raced in carbon fibre cars he would have been a 15 times world champion!
@plmcmm that's not true, senna was already quite old, 34, when he died. even if he still was alive, he wouldn't be competitive against the much younger schumacher, especially considering how physically demanding new cars had become after he died. Many drivers have said that winning is 70% car and only 30% driver, if schumacher stayed in ferrari the whole time and senna constantly drive for second tier teams, schumacher would've still won 7, maybe even more championships.
how can they not see that all the great drivers did things in race situation that weren right...but if u have ever raced then u get it why it happens.. right?
@plmcmm no doubt schumacher and senna are both great drivers, both of them were also greatly over-glorified. They were just exceptionally good drivers and good atheletes, that's it. apart from that, they were just ordinary human beings, they also falter under pressure and were also influenced by emotions. i;m sure schumacher would've never won so many championships if he wasn't with ferrari and neither would senna if he wasnt with the mighty mclaren.
Non capisco tutte ste discussioni... Meglio Senna, meglio Villeneuve meglio.....
@dojOdRiFTeR schumacher didnt compare wen it was the great era of f1, yea for a long time he did after and hes a fucking good driver, no doubt hope he gets a podium now hes back but to b the best u gota beat the best and he didnt, and schumacer had the best car, senna was well underpowered
Ok, hello everyone, I've just landed here to watch this documentary and I expect to see a very detailed account on the biggest and lousiest cheater in F1 history. ¿Have I come to the right place? Please don't tell me otherwise... Pop corn's ready...
@plmcmm like i said before, don't forget that winning is only 30% about the driver and 70% the car. Both schumacher won because of mighty team dominance. If they both were in second tier teams, neither of them would've achieved anything. Just look at alonso, he's also an excellent driver, but again, look at his performance with renault in 08 and 09, he didn't achieve anything. but you put him in a ferrari, he almost won in 2010.
@TheM4RK2K10 you missed the entire point of his comment... and you have your "facts" wrong. MJ, debatable and I don't really care. Tupac is a hypocrite. He talks of peace when he just as guilty being a harm to society. Senna was a nasty driver, like the other champions. You need the aggression to win. Watch some of his intentional crashes and try justifying yourself again.
Gilles Villeneuve was known as great before his death & after...he was in $hit equipment, followed team orders in 1979...and unfortunately died. Everyone who watched and knew what was what back then was aware of how good he was.....paper does not tell his story. Much the same as paper does not tell Schumacher's story.
jear thats right!!!! the best ever i life in germany and i allways look is on bbc or eurosport!! on our programm the commentator sucks, because they are boring and his commentar is the best ever!!
lol...senna..hrhr...he was driving with his girlfriend onto an crossroads..guess what..he say there is space for everyone..and just hit the gas..and crossed while the red light was on...so dont gimme that he was a greater person shit
@plmcmm You can try to convince yourself with this poor argument,but everybody that knows the history of this 2 drivers also knows that Senna's history is much more exciting. Not to mention the great man he was out of the tracks.Even Prost became a friend after he stooped racing, despite all the years of the most ferocious,controversial and exciting battle against pilots ever seem.Schumi ruled in a very boring era in the F1 history, where there was no much changes in the rules from year 2 year.

All time MASTER of the rain.

The last past shows just how important confidence is in sport
@plmcmm 2Pac WAS NOT a villain. We can only speculate on MJ. Senna and Schumacher were both dirty in their own right. what year was the overtake that Ross Brawn takes about?
Portugal estoril 1995
I remember hating him for that pass over Alesi. Funny that a few years later he would become my greatest hero...
SCHUMACHER IS GOD
The facts are what make Schumacher what he is, the greatest. The rest are opinions. People will surely disagree, because opinions come and go with emotions.
he'll be world champion in the next 3 years.... Cause he's upthere... There are a lot of good drivers, but there's only one great Schumacher...
,,,che spettacolo il sorparro esterno alla chicane su Alesi....per la serie "levati che ora passo io" grande Mik !!!!! per me, 6 e resterai il + forte di tutti....

Gilles Villeneuve was a magician that is for sure.
this is a 1995 bbc documentay
i remember watching this
it was broadcast christmas 1995
@Rionaldo completely agree. Schumacher was amazing, don't get me wrong, but Senna is just wow...

Wow look at Ross Brawn at 3:00 oO
I could only recognize him by his voice
@plmcmm
very wise words!
Ross Brawn, the Genious behind the Scenes.
@plmcmm
You are so right! Cheers.
i think the reason why schumacher was so good was because he was a very complete driver, very good technically but also lots of natural ability whereas alesi had more natural ability then schumacher, he was very poor technically,

@mblisniuk you cant say that senna is the best and you cant say that schumacher is the best.senna and schumacher are the best drivers in f1 history,but you cant say,which driver is better.
Formula 1 in 240p?? come on man!
Senna was the meanest ever. Proof: Suzuka 90.
yeah, when Schumi was not around, lucky bastard.
in terms of pure racing speed alesi was better then schumacher,

@f1matt ...Or Gilles Villeneuve. Or Jimmy Clark. Prost. Nuvolari. Ascari. Fangio. Many greats have come and gone. Many more to arrive I hope too.
@plmcmm so very true!
@plmcmm That's a great point. The only time people give respect (before they die) is when the person is old or disabled. I bet if MJ had parkinsons they wouldn't have been so harsh on him.
Agree with you

i am on a Schumacher Video and read comments all about senna -.- boring
@jesidao1 did you talk to him lately cause he told me he s the best.
@dojOdRiFTeR senna was racing against all-time greats in cars without driving aids. senna was a drivers driver.
haha ross brawn looks hilarious!
look at Ross Brawn. LOL
Watch with subtitles: Daniel Chu Mecca and A Lacey, lazy slacker, I'm dying of laughter
if schumacher had raced in aluminium constructed cars he would have been dead after 1 or 2 seasons and no-one would have rememberd him.....similary if Jim Clark had raced in carbon fibre cars he would have been a 15 times world champion!

Mblisniuk: How about crashing into Prost in an attempt to win the championship? That's all fair or what?
how can they not see that all the great drivers did things in race situation that weren right...but if u have ever raced then u get it why it happens..
right?
senna crashed into prost but prost crahsed into senna the year before..
Whatever you say FLOWERCHILD.
@Playster3 I have Bipolar and I'm smoking weed. So you could say I'm crazy and high... but I still agree Schumi is number 1.
@DominarTyranT1 yep, just
@TheM4RK2K10 but he also intentionally crashed into prost to win the title at Suzuka.
u speak the truth
@stigg46 dude, he deserves none of them? really? are you damon hill or jacques villeneuve? lol
im a huge schumi fan my favourite driver by far, but when u say senna is a dirty driver you have to say schumi is to.
@gaisarbast tru dat!
if you dont know that schumi retired after 2006 then you're definitely not informed enough to start or take part in a discussion here...
@plmcmm no doubt schumacher and senna are both great drivers, both of them were also greatly over-glorified. They were just exceptionally good drivers and good atheletes, that's it. apart from that, they were just ordinary human beings, they also falter under pressure and were also influenced by emotions. i;m sure schumacher would've never won so many championships if he wasn't with ferrari and neither would senna if he wasnt with the mighty mclaren.
mary likes schumi. :))

he was the best but he is just to old now thats why nico is beating him in every race
@dojOdRiFTeR schumacher didnt compare wen it was the great era of f1, yea for a long time he did after and hes a fucking good driver, no doubt hope he gets a podium now hes back but to b the best u gota beat the best and he didnt, and schumacer had the best car, senna was well underpowered
hahaha i think damon hill looks like jaime alguesuari in the age of 30 ! xD

@plmcmm Period! :)
2:52 =balls.
@max55max44 Both are legends...but we will never find out who's the better driver...but is it important? i don't know....RIP Senna!
@jfzclips Senna died in 1994. What the fuck are you trying to say?
@Zookmottin Opinion

even MIchael knows that Senna was the best ever...
