'The darkness holding me tightly'. When Chester said that, i felt it
From the top to the bottom
Bottom to top I stop
At the core I’ve forgotten
In the middle of my thoughts
Taken far from my safety
The picture is there
The memory won’t escape me
But why should I care
There’s a place so dark you can’t see the end
Skies cock back and shock that which can’t defend
The rain then sends dripping / an acidic question
Forcefully, the power of suggestion
Then with the eyes shut / looking thought the rust and rot
And dust / a small spot of light floods the floor
And pours over the rusted world of pretend
The eyes ease open and its dark again
In the memory you’ll find me
Eyes burning up
The darkness holding me tightly
Until the sun rises up
Moving all around / screaming of the ups and downs
Pollution manifested in perpetual sound
The wheels go round and the sunset creeps behind
Street lamps, chain-link and concrete
A little piece of paper with a picture drawn floats
On down the street till the wind is gone
The memory now is like the picture was then
When the paper’s crumpled up it can’t be perfect again
In the memory you’ll find me
Eyes burning up
The darkness holding me tightly
Until the sun rises up
Now you got me caught in the act
You bring the thought back
I’m telling you that
I see it right through you

😢
I love this song so much. Chester Bennington, you will never be forgotten.
This song really lives up to its name its practically Forgotten but its one of the best they have
Happy b-day to the best album
You will never be forgotten Chester. You are the voice of my generation. The words that I needed to express myself. Rest in peace.
The way pinkpantheress sampled this beautifully ❤️🔥
Could you tell me what song please?
@@OnTheArchipelago last valentines
Chester you will never be forgotten. A tribute to you. Rest in peace master
Chester died 😭😭😭😔😔😔🥺🥺🥺💔💔💔
Forever in my heart ❤
I remember being at Download festival 2014. In the most pit, getting battered to the floor in the rain to this song. everyone picked me up out of the mud and crowd surfed me. I remember just hearing " in the memory you'll find me" as i was lifted above the crowd...pure blissful memory! RIP Chester!
(4 years later ik) you so goddamn lucky for the fact that the last time they played forgotten live was on the 2002 projekt revolution and it never returned until they played the entire hybrid theory album on that Download festival
17 years later and I still can't stop replaying Chester screaming "You bring the thought back".
My favourite song from Hybrid Theory
"and the memory now is like the picture was then, when the papers crumpled up it can't be perfect again" Always gave me goosebumps, that's how you know it's a good song, lol, Long Live Linkin Park!
Rest in peace, Chester. "Until the sun rises up."
Best Linkin Park song, criminaly underrated
rip chester.. playing back the hybrid theory songs this morning.. thanks for the songs and the good memories i had
LP is the best band ever.
From the top to the bottom
Bottom to top I stop
At the core I’ve forgotten
In the middle of my thoughts
Taken far from my safety
The picture is there
The memory won’t escape me
But why should I care
From the top to the bottom
Bottom to top I stop
At the core I’ve forgotten
In the middle of my thoughts
Taken far from my safety
The picture is there
The memory won’t escape me
But why should I care
There’s a place so dark you can’t see the end
(Skies cock back) and shock that which can’t defend
The rain then sends dripping / an acidic question
Forcefully, the power of suggestion
Then with the eyes shut / looking though the rust and rot
And dust / a spot of light floods the floor
And pours over the rusted world of pretend
The eyes ease open and its dark again
From the top to the bottom
Bottom to top I stop
At the core I’ve forgotten
In the middle of my thoughts
Taken far from my safety
The picture is there
The memory won’t escape me
But why should I care
In the memory you’ll find me
Eyes burning up
The darkness holding me tightly
Until the sun rises up
Moving all around / screaming of the ups and downs
Pollution manifested in perpetual sound
The wheels go round and the sunset creeps behind
Street lamps, chain-link and concrete
A little piece of paper with a picture drawn floats
On down the street till the wind is gone
The memory now is like the picture was then
When the paper’s crumpled up it can’t be perfect again
From the top to the bottom
Bottom to top I stop
At the core I’ve forgotten
In the middle of my thoughts
Taken far from my safety
The picture is there
The memory won’t escape me
But why should I care
From the top to the bottom
Bottom to top I stop
At the core I’ve forgotten
In the middle of my thoughts
Taken far from my safety
The picture is there
The memory won’t escape me
But why should I care
In the memory you’ll find me
Eyes burning up
The darkness holding me tightly
Until the sun rises up
Now you got me caught in the act
You bring the thought back
I’m telling you that
I see it right through you
Now you got me caught in the act
You bring the thought back
I’m telling you that
I see it right through you
Now you got me caught in the act
You bring the thought back
I’m telling you that
I see it right through you
Now you got me caught in the act
You bring the thought back
I’m telling you that
I see it right through you
Now you got me caught in the act
You bring the thought back
I’m telling you that
I see it right through you
Now you got me caught in the act
You bring the thought back
I’m telling you that
I see it right through you
Now you got me caught in the act
You bring the thought back
I’m telling you that
I see it right through you
In the memory you’ll find me
Eyes burning up
The darkness holding me tightly
Until the sun rises up
In the memory, you will find me
Eyes burning up
The darkness holding me tightly
Until the sun rises up

for the longest time I never listened to this song, skipping to the next song on the album every time it started playing. Ironically it became one of my favorite LP songs
that dumb guy buying CDs but only listening to the singles on it

You almost forgot about the best Hybrid Theory song.
Volume 100%
This isn't just a song
This isn't just a theme
This isn't just a masterpiece
It is a EMOTION...
In the memory, you'll find me
Eyes burning up
The darkness holding me tightly
Until the sun rises up
(I think this lines could be refer as your traumas in your life)
This is the best LP song in my opinion.

The melody in the verse is beautiful. It takes me right back to my teenage years when I was still full of hope for the future.
One of my favorite songs, love the tempo
