Orient is criminally underrated !! I recall looking for this back when i was 21 but they were sold out across my country. Glad to see a video of this stunning pilot watch 😀

I have this identical watch and I have to say that if the booger-man broke into my house and stole it, I would keep the insurance money. The lume is only so-so. The crown is wobbly and its outer edges are sharp, feeling almost unfinished. You actually feel like it’s cutting into your skin when you wind it. Oh yeah, and when you do wind it, it feels and sounds crude, like a coffee grinder: like something is getting ground up inside of the case. Also it should be noted that when screwing the crown back onto to the case, you have to push and push hard before the threads engage. They feel crude, like pipe threads. On to the band. The band says it’s made of leather but I’m not sure. It’s stiff and rubbery. Just cheesy feeling. I swapped it for an aftermarket jobby.
The name ‘ORIENT’ in the watch face is teeny-tiny, totally out of proportion. You (at least I) need to squint to see it. Let’s see, what else? The finish is ho-hum, nothing special but the face itself is done nicely, discounting the name badge.
So that’s a pretty fair beat down and you, dear reader may ask ‘is there anything at all that you like about this watch?’
Well, actually there is..I like the looks of it, especially from afar. Ergo, it is “streetable”. And what I really like is that this gains only about seven seconds a week! This sucker keeps time!

No sapphire is a non starter especially on a field pilot etc style watch. Plexi or sapphire.

No, the lug to lug is too big, and the watch also for my taste. There is no distinctive lume marker on the dial to mark the twelve. Oriënt uses an in house movement for which spare parts aren't sold separately, which makes repair more difficult. And there are fliegers with better specs for less on the very much flooded flieger market. If the flieger design is far from original, why not take the Addiesdive flieger for instance, with long lasting lumed numerals, saphire Chrystal, 200m water resistance at a sub €100,- price.

I avoid Watches with Date windows. They ruin the symmetry of a Watch face unnecessarily imho.

Too big and quite insignificant. It could be better

Well, it is a Pilot Watch, most Pilot Watches ARE large in size + this Model of Watches all have the scale for calculating the Meridian; Azimuth; Latitude and Longitude, as an old (very old) Pilot I think this Watch Looks Fantastic. So, is Watch Big to your taste and insignificant?, then you should consider completely different Type of Watches, my tip to you as the experienced Watch Enthusiast is: Let your Personality Guide your Idea which Watches you want, hope this leaves a bit of a Light on your Path, Good luck Regards.

@@ooyginyardel4835 have the same Orient Pilot and I have to say that everything you mention here is completely unknown to me. Fantastically good watch without any of the flaws you mention, the crown is stable and screws easily like on a Seiko Prospex (for comparison), there are no "sharp ends that cut into the skin" on my model, my model is quiet and precise, the strap is made of real leather and smells like leather. I'm sorry that you probably got the Monday production.
