I completely agree! But having said that, here is a production tip Gary. If you are going to use a two camera perspective, it is disconcerting when you are speaking to one camera and cutting to camera number 2. When using two angles, talk to both cameras and edit accordingly. That is, pretend there are two people in the room (both of them being the viewer) so that the viewer sees the two different angles but does not get the feeling that you are talking to someone else and they are just "in the room".
Love the advice & tips! Looking forward to inoculating my lions mane cultures to grain within the next few days! Cant wait to grow this beautiful mushroom 🍄
I'm just starting a microgrow in Northwest Baltimore, Maryland and Lyons Maine as well as a couple of strains of oyster mushroom or my Target mushrooms to start off. And I was looking up how to take spore prints because I can't afford to buy spores from somebody else. And I see that you're posting about a you very unique strain and I'd like to ask you about if there's a way without breaking the bank to get some spores of that strain please
I have experienced some bitter LM but I have been fruiting the same blocks multiple times. Is it the pinning/fruiting on the spawn that causes this? Is that spawn compromised or can it be used at maybe a lower inoculation rate? Thank you for the valuable info's!
I am not sure how to troubleshoot but in the past I have noticed that once it pins on grains it tends to lead to bitterness. I never thought about spawning less it might work but I traditionally had a fresh batch lined up and made it a thing to not let it get that far along ha Im interested to hear if you try this and follow up 🙏🏻🍄❤️
Hello, I'm a beginner trying to grow this. Tried brown rice as a spawn but never fruit, only once with oat and it fruited.. Would the spawn type also affect the fruiting rate? Where I live cannot get rye grain. Thank you!
we use oats and we have used many other grains with success but not rice. I think grains can play a role and I like oats because it is much more fibrous than other grains maybe rice is too nutrient rich - in my experience it gets clumpy so we didn’t use it large scale. Maybe an inappropriate question but how much do you charge. I have my system down pretty good. About 4 rounds of very successful crops. I also live in an area where I can't find anyone else who sells it (southern to middle Idaho) I just have no clue on what to charge to successfully start this adventure. Any advice is so greatly appreciated.
Ours goes for 12$/half pound box at the markets and then for our whole sale customers it depends on the quantity but usually around 16$/lb for our 6lb boxes with delivery charges or pickup deals.
Why does it seem near impossible to find *spores* of gourmets? I want to research, not just grow. I don’t want to be buying a pre isolated monoculture, that’s the part I want to do. 😢
I think it’s because it’s a small population that can work from spores successfully - growers usually want pure cultures and from vendor stand point it’s easier to be blamed for others failures with spores (I have lots of spores of my own collections but I only hand them out to special requests so I don’t feel obligated like with cultures to help guarantee results)
What you said about the grain spawn affecting the end product taste is definitely unique! I've got to keep an eye on my spawn!
I completely agree, this is my farms most important player, restaurants love it
your video quality has improved a LOT!

all of our cultures are listed on our ETSY shop etsy.com/shop/freshfungi as an alternative you can go find some wild ones and clone/take spore prints
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The clip at the end with the hyphae growth is amazing. Did you do that yourself? Where would one look to get information for doing similar videos?
I know! We are working with a company now that’s doing mind blowing work! Im just as stoked 🙏🏻 🍄❤️
@@FreshfromtheFarmFungi That's extraordinary! It's your own lion's mane strain growing that we're seeing? :O
Is the lion's mane liquid culture the same strain as the agar plate? (I see you have both in your shop) cheers!
it’s the same - the plates are made to order from the mother culture

Hi! You don't by any chance send it to Europe, right? :)
yes we ship globally! Usually takes about 2-3 weeks to get to most places in Europe and we ship on Mondays 👍
@@FreshfromtheFarmFungi oh wow that is nice!! Does one need a sanitary certificate like with plants or something similar here?
