Great Idea, Arleen. I want to tell you that Dremel makes a shoe polisher with similar horizontal shaft and replaceable disks or polishing wheels or buffer to make possibilities of different configurations endless ..I still have a shoe polisher but cant get to it, we have laundry in the way..laundry takes priority over the woodcarving shop around here..but I think it would be a good possibility even if you had to slow the motor down with a router-speed controller still a great idea..keep up the great works!!

Thanks Arleen. This is really a great idea. I see the leather is loaded with black polishing compound. Do you load anything onto the buffing wheel?

yes its a coarse compound,, i got mine at lowes in a four pack,, from coarse to fine,, thanks fo asking

how would this grinder work for reshaping chisels? I dropped one of my nice Ashley Illes and broke the tip. I also have several old chisels that need to be reshaped as well. Will this grinder last?
