My AMG G63 is ALMOST Ready!

- It's happening, my brand new AMG G63 is now turning blue! Straight after collecting the latest Shmeemobile, I took it immediately for the Topaz Skin transformation to begin where the work is now in progress and we can see how it's all coming together!
The exterior of the Mercedes G Class is receiving a makeover from the original black to the dual tone Shmee Blue to match the specification of my McLaren Senna. Upon dropping it off we had an introduction to Topaz Skin with Nabil and went through the process to find the paint colours to use; the Shmee Blue coming as Ford's Celestial Blue and the satin navy that will match the Senna's blue carbon, in Ferrari Blu Scozia Opaco.
By way of an update, I head to Topaz Detailing where the workshop features some of the most incredible cars imaginable; the Lanzante P1 GTR-18, Ferrari FXX K EVO, Pagani Zonda, Koenigsegg Agera RSN, McLaren P1, McLaren Senna, Porsche Carrera GT, Bugatti EB110, Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta and more... what an amazing line-up!

Topaz are just smashing it, wow. It’s just amazing technology to get this standard of finish and it’s peel-able it’s just unreal.
Yep, Topaz have mastered the market yet again, but I believe peel-able paint has been out for quite a number of years.
Phil Melson I’m sure it has in some form but not in automotive industry as it’s being applied here. I would imagine it’s a step on from paint that was developed for plastic bumpers. But in essence it’s not the paint here that is the development it’s the clear barrier spray that’s allowing it to be peeled.

It will be interesting to see how the Skin weathers, how easy it is to eventually remove and the condition of the original paintwork after. Topaz are really on top of the game, absolutely brilliant work every time.

Topaz Skin is going to absolutely kill it. First off, the product itself and the level of finishing is second to none. This is light years ahead of wraps. Sure if you want to do something with graphics, there is still a place for wraps. But, if you are talking about proper paint jobs, then you just can't beat it. Bear in mind, it is also priced in a different category at 10,000 pounds a car. But, for the hardcore supercar or luxury car owners, 10K pounds is nothing. And why would they go for it? 1) Is the super high level of finishing and 2) the fact that it can be peeled off at any point on time. That is why you can already see the amount of amazing cars in their garage. They literally can't paint them fast enough. LOL.

Great build. I would have had Brabus carbon fiber fender flares and other accessories installed and painted in a candy blue with satin clear/PPF to better match the Senna better. I saw a guy at the grocery store with CF fender flares on his G63, I don't see why you couldn't do the same.
I thought a benefit of topaz skin was that you could match any colour? So why go and use a ford colour rather than an exact match for cerulean blue despite how close it may be?

I am indeed already subscribed to Topaz's channel and do follow it fairly regularly. As I've said on comments previously on that channel, if I could EVER afford to purchase a supercar I would, without doubt, drop it straight over to Topaz for full protection. PPF or Topaz Skin would be the only question to debate there.
