You are correct, Manoy Lalio is an excellent blacksmith and a kind person.

Always try to pick up a bolo from a local smith when we visit Mid-Luzon. Brought back a nice one last month. Not the prettiest knife in the world but it is strong and sharp. I would feel confident on anything from building a home, harvesting the crops, and killing and butchering a pig with it.
Hi Rick! Yes, I completely agree, I have two bolos from a local maker here on Leyte, both made from leaf springs.

@@fred-cp1hf I'm not sure of the distance, but travel time via Sogod probably 90 minutes or more. Via the coastal route, 3 hours or so. A beautiful drive though 😁
