Find your selfa bar and change the planter units over. Make it three point mounted. No more problems with hydrolics and much easier to get around. Plus you can see your planter from the seat!
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures really all you need is the tool bar with three poi t hook up. Look around for an old culavator with the same size bar as what is on your lift trailer. Then just unbolt from the lift and bolt to the new bar. No problem. Just make sure you space them right on the new bar. Pretty straight forward. Just look how the units are mounted to what you have. You will figure it out.

Justin over at Metcalf farm has a good idea on saving corn seed for a planter you only keep the center of the ear with the seed plate I used you could tell it was the end of the ear left in the hopper
That may be true, but I was told by an old timer that overtime if you do that, your corn will not produce all the way out to the tip of the year. I do not know if it’s true, but that is what he said.
My grandfather was the one that planted with me had a old Jhon Deere planter yeah the shoes so plug up if you dropped the planter with out being moving
We had about 25ac of corn...I we planted yellow Dent field corn. Before it was dry we would pick it. It was so sweet great as corn on the cob...When it was dry. My father would take an Old sickle mower. Made to be horse-drawn. It would be hooked behind our F20 Farmall . He would rack it up(Ears in tack).1 of hid buddy's would bale it. Keep it inside our Roar are we ready for Brian grind hard cattle feed. There was a truck that would come and they would do custom grinding. They would add molasses to the mix. I guess you could kind of call it a dry silage. Always enjoy your videos. I bring back memories of Farm Life

Your corn looks fantastic, do you take your product to a farmers markets or keep it all for your family? My grandpa had ten children so they kept all their food. My grandmother had a huge Root Cellar. Our favorite thing to eat when we visited was pickled white corn and she had a wooden stove also. They lived in Grayson Kentucky, is that close to you?
If you put a piece of pipe the correct length with chains hanging down on each end, you can simply drive so the chain drags down the last row, you can make straight evenly spaced rows without markers.
I bet that blue corn would be tasty in cornmeal . the blue/black popcorn sure is tasty . thing with the heirloom varieties seems to be what they lack in quantity (of production) , they make up in quality (flavor)
Our experience is that we get much greater yields with these open pollinated crops……. The big ag just doesn’t use it because it’s not roundup ready and has to be cultivated.

Interesting . my experience was limited to vegetable gardening , and tomatoes specifically . several years I planted about 20 varieties > 1/2 hybrid & 1/2 heirloom , and the hybrid tomatoes definitely produced more fruit , whereas the heirloom tomatoes were less prolific but tasted Much bettter............. and , GOOD on You for being reluctant to use Roundup , because that toxic stuff is now ubiquitous ! ... showing up everywhere , and the worst place is in the gut of a human being

😂😂😂 I’m busy…. But not too busy to help you! The depth of the seed can vary, but if you plant it shallow, the crows can pull it up and will pull it up! They eat the sprouted kernel, and they can ruin a large field in a hurry, so I suggest 2 to 3 inches for best results! Row spacing should be 30 inches and plant spacing should be 6 inches. The result is 32,000 plants per acre. Intercropping is very unusual, although crop rotation is common practice. The crimson clover is used as a nitrogen in Builder, because corn is a heavy nitrogen user. As far as putting a penny in the kiwi 🥝 that sounds delicious! 😂😂😂

Are these government electricity power lines in your field? If so then they have a very bad frequency for the plants, plus it's your ground so you probably can tell them to relocate them.
