I hope you get better soon Mike. You got 4 really fine young men you have raised and I know 3 of them are more than capable of planting the corn for you too.
looks like a crow got those eggs. they are known for that. no way a chick hatched out without breaking the egg into 2 halves. a possum wouldn't have left anything. ty for the videos
My mother brought me a cold from the PNW this week. This video is definitely the motivation i needed to get outside even though all i want is to nap all day.
Bro. Micah that’s definitely predation to the turkey. Hopefully the turkey hen survived to breed again. Sorry you are feeling bad. I know there’s work to do, but sometimes we just have to settle ourselves down and rest in order to heal and be made whole again. Feel better soon.
I really enjoyed watching you plow even if you had to do it sick . Plowing the field and running over it with the tiller makes a nice deep seed bed . I have to get better at my plowing skills next year . That worm would have been a heck of a meal for a chicken lol . I don't know what happened to my comment on yesterday's video but it was gone . That happens for some reason . Thanks for sharing and have a great day !
I’m not sure what happened to it either! I remember responding to it….. but now I can’t find it…….. even in my “held for review” file……. TH-cam can definitely be a pain! We’re looking forward to seeing you guys Saturday!!!!
Great video, knocking out that work. Man, feeling sick can really but a kink in farming activities , as I got older I started having allergies which I never had when I was young. A Dust Mask during and a Neilmed Nasal Rinse after Bush Hogging and Mowing has eliminated much of my illnesses when I need to be at the top of my game.
Probably got some bad allergies this year mcgie. Hope you feel better. Git the mister out and quadruple the vita c and elderberry. Echinecea tea from coneflowers works best for me.
Hope you get better soon Micah! I really am inspired by your content and hope that I can find a few acres and get out of town. I am a single father of 3 son I'll have some helpers if I'm able to afford a few acres haha
Looking closely around the perimeter of those egg holes , does it appear the edges of the shells are pushed inward , or outward ? ... that could bee a good clue GIT WELL SOON , SON !
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures .. yeah , probably a predator .. someone said Crows .. they are a smart enough bird to peck a small hole and then eat contents and not let any of the yolk/white go to waste . .
I just picked up a used Enrossi disc mower …… it’s too big for my tractor, but I just take my time and it works. Eventually I’ll either get a bigger tractor or a smaller hay mower 😂😂😂
I was going to say you got to push yourself man and I hate to tell you this but that looks like raccoon or possum to me on the eggs🐝 hope you get feeling better
Hey Micah... Hope I didn't butcher your name... How about mr. Magee😅.. love your video son... Y'all need to get into the nightcrawler business... 😮 Get better... Thanks for taking one for the family... I know you didn't looks like you were feeling good.. God bless you and your family and Friends... ✌️❤️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures from the way they was opened would bet a skunk. I only trap a little. 91 cats 212 coyotes and 719 coons around 150 skunk and opossum last year. Not close to best year but not bad for a short line

Those eggs got eaten, sorry for you and the hen, hope she survived. Probably crows or magpies, put up more brush piles to help protect against winged and furry predators.
Turkey eggs look like predation to me. Chicks will normally peck a hole and then push against the shell until it comes apart in two halves.
I’m starting to think that is what happened 😔
I hope you get better soon Mike. You got 4 really fine young men you have raised and I know 3 of them are more than capable of planting the corn for you too.
That’s very true! Thanks so much!
Feel better sir
Thanks! I’m getting better!
Take care of yourself Micah. Don't want anything to happen to you. Take care and God bless. 👍💯🙏
Thanks brother I’m doing my best!
I hope you’re feeling better Brother!
Thanks! I am!

It can definitely help to get out! Just don’t overdo it!

hope you get to feeling better 👊
Thanks brother!!!
Even when sick ole Micah is making sure he's getting out videos lol. Hope you're feeling better brother.
It has to be pretty bad to keep me from plowing!!
Nice job
Thanks brother!
I hatch quail. They cut around the fat end of the egg then push that open. They don't peck out the side of the shell.
That’s interesting. I’m not sure about these but I’m suspicious they got eaten.
Get to feeling better real soon. I hope your corn/silage crop is outstanding.
Thanks so much bro!
Ha! "got to just Plow through it."
You’re the first one that has mentioned that lol I was wondering if anyone would catch it!😂😂😂

It definitely pays to do the things that keep us going!
Brother if you want better drainage and faster plowing try backlanding when you plowing. You can plowing both directions
This particular field needs to be plowed uphill
Probably got some bad allergies this year mcgie. Hope you feel better. Git the mister out and quadruple the vita c and elderberry. Echinecea tea from coneflowers works best for me.

Absolutely! Go for it!
Elderberry and turkey tails tea wt a bit of sasfrass and blackberry root three times a day sweeten wt raw honey pawpaw
Sounds really good!
I hear a raincrow singing in the first of the video.
It was three weeks before the next rain. 😅
plowing while sick... you tough old booger you. cant say much ive plowed sick before. but i wasnt riding no tractor ;)
You’re supposed to take care of yourself old timer!!!😂😂😂

No wonder it's sick! It's got worms 😂😅 Does your wife call it the man cold when you get sick🤧? 😂😂
😂😂😂 no she just doesn’t say much 😂😂😂
What haybine do you use on that tractor when cutting hay?
I just picked up a used Enrossi disc mower …… it’s too big for my tractor, but I just take my time and it works. Eventually I’ll either get a bigger tractor or a smaller hay mower 😂😂😂
I’d think if the nest was raided by predators the egg shells would have been damaged more. But I’m not 💯 sure
Sending prayers for healing for ya buddy
Thanks brother!
Daddy sang bass, Mommy sang tenor. You sound like Daddy 😁
😂😂😂😂
I’m cultivating corn now and can’t get that song out of my head! Thanks a lot!!!😂😂😂
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures are you still singing bass? 😆😆😆
Not as well as before 😂😂😂
Now it’s more like momma sang bass!😂😂😂
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Maybe you should try some charcoal feel better thanks for sharing keep the cameras rolling from Florida
That might do it!!!
That did not hatch the egg would have the end off also the hen takes the egg shell away from the nest and even eats the shell sometimes
Oh ok….. that’s unfortunate
I asked my expert egg hatching son he seems to think something got them because the edges of the shells go inward not outward like they hatched
That’s what I was afraid of 😟😟😟
I have no idea about those eggs. I hope they hatched out and that a predator didn't get them. Hope you feel better soon Brother. Still in Switzerland!
Wow you’re having a real vacation!!! God bless!!!
I believe that a critter got in the turkey eggs
That’s unfortunate!
Predators will eat the whole egg usually. They hatched
Looks like they hatched usually a predator will crush the eggs .
I sure hope so!!!
Something ate them eggs!!
That’s too bad!
I was going to say you got to push yourself man and I hate to tell you this but that looks like raccoon or possum to me on the eggs🐝 hope you get feeling better
I’m kinda afraid of that too

Those eggs didn't hatch nest was raided. Could have been anything from skunk to coyote
That’s gonna make me trap even more intensely than before!!

looks like you have the crap that I had for almost the whole month of May, coughing and spitting and feel like crap
Yes it is rough!
That was predation when eggs are hatched the chick comes out of the big end of the egg
Oh my! That’s not good! I’ll be trapping more!
100% predator damage. Looks like a coon got em to me.
I’m gonna have to set more traps!😟
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures the boys need a good coon dog! Lol
You ever think about putting a mirror on the tractor so you wouldnt have worry about throwing out your neck
I haven’t considered that but maybe I should!
Possum's are tick destroyers
That’s been proven to be a myth
Your boys plow with tractor?
My boys haven’t yet. Just me!😉

I don’t understand why she decided to sit out there! I’ve got tons of very good nesting habitat here!
