- This classic mach comes from November 1995, with Rangers and Celtic playing out a dramatic 3-3 draw at Ibrox. The Hoops took the lead with a thunderous shot from German international Andreas Thom, but the home side equalised through Brian Laudrup. A second-half penalty from John Collins regained Celtic's advantage, but the Gers responded terrifically with an Ally McCoist header and an own goal from Gordon Marshall. The drama wasn't over though, as Pierre van Hooijdonk replied almost immediately with a header to tie the scores.

Regardless of which side you follow, these were great games to watch. The calibre of the players was far superior to what's on display these days. I miss these games, they were so close.

One of the greatest saves I have ever seen from a goalkeeper, Andy Goram from Van Hooijdonk and you never showed it.

This is why I would rather watch the Old Firm than El Classico. Amazing atmosphere, love Van Hooijdonk goal celebration. Old firm is underrated big time.

It’s sad the way football has gone that a small number of leagues and teams have the lions share of the money so the quality is localised in limited areas. I’d love Celtic and Rangers to be back up there having the quality to be contenders to win in the champions league again
It's sad the way football has gone so that a couple of teams have the lions share of money, and exposure, to the detriment of everyone else in Scotland. I'd love to see the rest of Scottish football getting a fair crack of the whip and making it a more competitive league, like it was 40 years ago

Goram and marshall there is just no comparison, if celtic had a decent keeper in the 90s it would have been a different story
i was at this game, stayed in Greenock and on the Saturday was at Cappielow for Morton 0 Meadowbank Thistle 3 i think my 1st Morton match with my dad. Cant believe i lost both programmes! gutted!

5-1 from november 98, 3-2 april 2008, 4-4 draw from the 80s, 3-0 celtics first victory at ibrox for 6 years in 2001, celtics 4-2 comeback win at ibrox in the 80s, the 1998 new year match celtic win 2-0, the 2011 new year match when samaras scored a double. everything from martin oneil's whitewash season in 2003/04. think there was a 2-2 draw at ibrox in the 80s with 4 red cards, the so called shame game from 2010/11 where mark wilson scores the winner, the 2-2 draw at ibrox that set up that replay. celtics two 3-0 victories at celtic park under neil lennon. pretty sure we won 3-0 during the hampden season as well. the 1980 and 89 scottish cup finals. some stuff from the 70s would be cool

If Celtic had a half decent keeper, they'd have easily won the league that season. Considering they only lost one game in the league that year, it was an utter travesty that they didn't. Far more deserving than the tax evaders across the city.

@mike Bradley yes but the fans came together and saved the club and built a bigger and better stadium than yours....the old rangers cheated and went into liquidation and you lot just stood back and let it happen. Terrible supporters

Never showed David Robertsons goal that was chopped off for offside but clearly ONSIDE. If they had VAR it would be obviously a goal so Rangers really should have won that game 4-3. Feels like there's not an old firm game without a penalty especially for celtic at ibrox.
Was just about too say!! How convenient the SPL edit out the worst offside decision I’ve EVER seen, he ran past two celtic defenders to get on the end of Laudrups pass, one of the worst ever, up there with the free kick against alan hutton in a Scotland v Italy at hampden unbelievable

Hilarious to watch and imagine as a Celtic fan saying this proves the teams were very close - ignoring the fact Rangers won pretty much everything.
