I have a friend that lives in Punta Gorda. I think he is just riding it out. He moved from here in Indiana over 30 years ago and hasn’t looked back. Even with all of the hurricanes he said it beats the snow. 😂
It's 6 pm Eastern Wednesday. This hurricane has gotten so big,it's filling Eastern side of Gulf of Mexico, about 400 miles. It's having trouble with eyewall formation, pulling dry air sheer at about 9-11 o'clock position. It's forecast to work through this sheer, and become a major hurricane by morning. For y'all new to Florida, and now living in any Zone A ( on Gulf or close) like Pasco county or north, get out now. Say y'all bought a house on water recently,in Crystal River,i( Nature coast) in Citrus County. Get out now, while you can. Don't even think about "Riding it out" this surge will be devastating...🌀🌊🌊🌊
Looks like calling for Cat 4 now. I'm north of Tampa getting ready to hunker down!!! Being a Floridian and through many hurricanes, I don't get real concerned until cat 4 and 5....
Don't get hung up on Category. These are major flooding events, that's main loss of life. Lot of people who try and "Ride it out" in this one, will be swimming or stuck in attics. Structures/ etc it just is what it is.
Glad you were smart and got the hell out of the crosshairs. Enjoy your stay in Boyton Tim. Maybe you could grill a cowboy steak while you are bugged out.
@@kolbpilot I believe I remember that Ted and Jolene have a full-time live-in tenant that doubles as the property manager while they are away. Lives in the tiny home there on the property. But I could be wrong, or remember incorrectly.
It's about 730 am Eastern, Thursday. Hurricane Helene 🌀 just increased to Cat 2 strength. It's 320 miles SW of Tampa, winds at 100 mph, moving NE at 12 mph. Landfall Thursday evening, under Tallahassee,Florida State Capital.
Landfall location of Helene, if you look at a map Perry Florida pretty much ground zero. Taylor County. Perry was old State Capital of Florida. The western Gulf Coast, for about 200 miles south of landfall, will be experiencing catastrophic storm surge, estimated at 10-15 feet for many areas. Keep in mind, this is along with battering waves, if in this Zone A, get out now.

Are Ted and Jolene still up north or are they back down to their home across the way?

Its nice you have friends on both coasts - You just have to rotate accordingly to avoid these Hurricanes as much as possible!
