Awesome captures! Would you be okay with me featuring the Ryanair landing at 6:19 in my series Weekly Dose of Aviation? Of course you will be credited both in the video and in the description. Thanks!
Got to be careful with the A340 not to land too hard, otherwise you can end up replacing the whole undercarriage. Great landing. Must have been max autobrake
I didn't see any evidence of crosswind. The A340 appeared to be on runway heading (no offset into the wind which a crosswind would necessitate) and the touchdown did not require any kicking off of drift (just small left / right rudder inputs typical of the gusty conditions).
During the first approach there was a crosswind as shown by the windsock in the first clip however it did die down / change into more of a headwind for its successful approach, the aircraft did spend some time in the hold between the clips. Furthermore the second 737 filmed had to hold as it was out of limits for a landing due to crosswind (the wet runway also added to this)
@@aviation747 The first approach resulted in a go-around. We don't know why, but x-wind could have been the reason, as could loss of a stabilised approach due gusts, sink, lift, excessive roll too near the ground..... Any number of reasons. But there was no or negligible x-wind for the actual landing. Which was my point, and why I think the title was misleading.
@@gzk6nk The missed approach was due to windshear i believe, but i do understand your point that the touchdowns themselves had a significantly lower crosswind than the approach.
@@aviation747 No. my contention is there was negligible crosswind (if it's not there on touch down it wasn't there on final), so your vid tile was inaccurate. Windshear yes, that makes sense hence the go-around. But x-wind? No!

Thank you! Feel free to feature any of this video in weekly dose of aviation!
That extra pair of wheels must come in handy in landings like that. Well done for braving the weather
Thank you! Im sure they do!
Great video new sub
Thank you so much :)
Fantastic catch 👏
Thank you!
.... and i didnt know Bournemouth has an airport. Thanks for the video :)
Its definitely not the most well known of airports, thank you for the kind words :)
God I just love that 340.
She is a beast!
Good video matey ✈️ 😎
Thank you mate!

That just makes this landing on a short, contaminated runway with these crosswinds all the more impressive!
Ryanair landings as smooth as always lol

Ryanair broke everyone’s backs and their left gear
It wasnt the smoothest landing however with these winds and a wet runway a smooth landing wouldn't have been the safest option
