Just don't see many knives like this much anymore. What I mean is made with a wooden handle. When I was a kid I remember almost all the men that were around had either a Old Timer or a Buck Hunter and I wanted 1 so bad. I've always like a good clean wooded handle knife. Another great video bud. 🤙 🤘

Thanks, Beez for the share. The Chevalier and Conspirator are a great "set" of PBs for the knife world. They finally got a PB button/base design right for teardown/reassembly/cleaning. [ Pigs in a Blanket today !]
Just got my Chevalier in the mail today! And boy do I love it! IMO, this is the perfect EDC for a female. Not too big for dainty hands and will fit better in the lady pockets. There is a little bit of a lock stick on mine but I think that will work out as I fidget with it. I love it!
Nice! I've had a couple people tell me that the stick can sometimes be fixed just by loosening the scale screws and tighten back. (food for thought). I don't mind a little click as long as it's not uncomfortable. Fidget away! lol I'll see you at the live.
Conspirator or this one which is better slicing and which is better steel also what about the kizer begleiter xl which would you perfer if you had to pick one?
I am really digging the wood. It’s is so proper looking. I like the blade shape of the Conspirator a little more but still a beautiful knife. I’ll be back! ✌️
Hello Beez, I cleaned my Chevallier 2 days ago and after re assembly, the blade was not centered and I could not figure it out, so I decided to see this to try to solve the mistery and BANG, THE PIVOT. I placed the pivot the wrong way around. Thank you ! 🐿😅
Don't worry about the blade being a lil off center. It's just from the button/spring holding it with side pressure. If you push the button in you'll see the blade center right up perfectly.
The unboxing knife is very sweet. Not practical for edc, but very unique! Keith The Knife Freak on Instagram made them for a few channels. I'm very grateful!
That is definitely the easiest button lock disassembly so far. It is a good thing that you put a message in the video about the pivot not being positioned. Was the action better?
Thanks, Beez ! Great informative presentation ! I ordered the Damascus blade. My very first Damascus blade. Looking forward to another great Civivi for the collection !
Is there a manufacturers recommended tightness on those screws? I have "FAT WRENCH." It's a firarms accurizing torque wrench, and it might help with the guess work that comes along with centering some blades. Just an eye deer
No. Usually the best torque is when there is no blade play. That gives you the best action. Most knife companies don't want you to take the knife apart lol.
That is an interesting idea, for sure. My guess is that the differing tolerances on a model's individual examples, even in the same production run, would necessitate determining the torque value for each particular knife's pivot assembly.
I just got mine on Wednesday, the G-10 model. I have a love hate relationship with it but now back to love. 😄 I think mine must have been made on a Friday afternoon. The blade was way off center and it was almost as sharp as one of my butter knives. I have a fairly large knife collection so I have learned how to center a blade, just never saw a button lock with bearings off center before until this one. It took some doing but centering is now perfect and it is wearing a new KME polished razor sharp edge so all is well that ends well.
Looks great, going to have to get one eventually and this looks like a great contender. So many button locks on the market right now that it's hard to choose. Dig the blade shape on this one along with the steel and size. Thanks for the great vid Beez and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
Hi Beez, I heard there was a sheepsfoot model coming out. I’ve been waiting for this one. I’m assuming you took it apart again b/c of the centering to discover the button lock orientation. I’m so OCD I couldn’t leave it alone until I figured it out. Thanks for sharing, see you tomorrow!
Yes, It dawned on me after the video about the little notch they use to keep the pivot still lol. I would prefer they just use a D pivot. You're very welcome! See you tomorrow!
I have every Civivi button-lock knife. The button mechanism on every one of them is crunchy. The interface between the button pillar and the corresponding cut-out on the blade is rough. I'm sure you have noticed this flaw on what are, otherwise, great knives. I understand that not polishing this area allows Civivi to offer the budget price. Would you, please, do a video on polishing the blade cut-out and the button pillar. Maybe, with some Flitz compound, like the 25 cent Glock Trigger Job? Thanks, in advance, for something every Civivi button-lock owner will appreciate.
The knives with double entendre features. There's got to be a list somewhere. I don't have any folders with wood scales yet but I do have at least one with bone and one with horn scales.

I got the one with the green micarta and it had insane button stick. I think I worked it out of it, but I've got some side to side play. Gonna have to take it apart again and work on it
Check to make sure your pivot is in the little notch (under the C). I've been told that loosening the scales and adjusting them a tad before re-tightening can help with the stick. (I haven't tried that yet).
@@BeezBlades It was seated okay, I loosened everything and put it back together and it's good now. After I fixed that, I put in skiff bearings. Not sure it needs it, but I figured what the hell. Thanks Beez!

That’s a good looking knife. I don’t have anything with a wooden handle. Is it time? 🤔 Anyway, I’ll tell you about yesterday’s breakfast. I made an omelette with boudin, crumbled bacon, chopped cracklins, and three kinds of cheese - one of which was pepper jack - oooh spicy. On the side I had toast with some Honduran crema (like sour cream but also not 😂). To finish it off, I made a nice latte. That breakfast was almost as good as this video…almost. 😉
I notice a large amount of the Amazon civivi reviews that are negative, typically are for the wood version versus the g10 or micarta counterpart. Thoughts? I also remember back in the days, wood handled knives were typically epoxy treated.... These are raw untreated correct? Any comments after a couple months of ownership? Wear well or not at all?
I don't have one with me to look at, but I'm sure they are treated with something. They don't feel raw. I like the feel of the wood scales that I have from Civivi, and haven't had any problems with them, but due to me rotating knives as much as I do... It takes longer for me to see where and tear. I haven't had any issues, but then again I haven't been carrying them the whole time.
Cool knife. Not a fan of the wood however. I've been liking the button locks from civivi and kizer. I still need to get me an original! Hope your day goes well! ☕️
Hi Beez, your fault that mine is on the way to me right now 😅(while I wait for the Begleiter XL from wmk to return) and next goes the Feldspar. Great flawless disassembly !
