    I enjoy this style of first look, first test video. I'd be happy to see more of the same type for any new knives you acquire.

      There will be more videos. I am uploading one now...but that knife came together with the Chevalier...so it is sort of a "second Look" :) I will publish it on my Patreon Page today and by the end of the week on TH-cam.
      Thank you for the feedback! I like knowing what you like and want to see.

    I appreciate the first impression!
    I had a Civivi Altus that I was very impressed with overall. I didn't get to use it, because I gave a friend who needed a knife a couple to chose from and he immediately went for the civivi button lock. That lock is much more approachable than liner/frame locks for non knife people.

      My wife held this one in hand...and said she really likes it! The flipper and button lock....she just wants a smaller one! I never thought she would even try to replace her Sage 5LW with a Civivi.....The button lock is, as you said, a more approachable locking mechanism, than others, for non knife people

    Great video. You should make more. I just received my Chevalier today (11/06/2023). I'm more into the tactical side of knives but I thought this one was interesting. Mine came with very minor button stick but as I kept playing with it, it seemed to become worse. Same thing happened with my Conspirator but I just kept at it with that one and the button stick now is very minimal. I guess I'll just have to keep fidgeting with my Chevalier. I've got quite a few boxes here and I'm going to test this one. I tried my Conspirator and Praxis and so far among my Civivi knives, the Conspirator is the best slicer. Even better than the Sentinel Strike. I don't remember if I tried my Vision FG. Maybe I should try that one also and see which is the best slicer among my Civivis. 🙂

      I did make quite a few "First Look/First Test" videos.
      That button stick problem you mentioned....you should talk to your retailer or write Civivi. I had that issue with one of my Sencuts. They replaced it. You can also fix it yourself. You need to disassemble the knife and make the hole for the button lock a bit larger(it was the case with mine) or maybe round the edges.
      So far...the sliciest(while still being a decent workhorse) was my Elementum. No idea how the flat ground ones are but the hollow ground one are very good!

      @@SpartanJohns You know what? There is an Elementum sticker that comes with every Civivi but I don't have one or even thought of getting one. Maybe I should. As of the moment, I have my eye on the Synergy 4. By the way, try the Keen Nadder out. You might like it. I love mine.

      sorry for the late reply....i haven't bought a new knife in a long time...been looking around...now that I sold off most of mine...i was looking around. 2-3 more months and i'll get back to my "old habbits" ...hopefully

    what are your go-to edc knives when you know you're not going to be doing heavy outdoor tasks?

    • @SpartanJohns
      @SpartanJohns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      that is a good question....but we would have to define "heavy" If chopping is "heavy' and it kinda is because it requires a heavy blade and thicker grind...then really anything. I baton only certain folders...Ganzos(because they have the axis lock and they are inexpensive) and Cold steel knives...because they can take it..
      other than that...i do pretty much everything with all my folders...
      off the top of my head: my Sage 1. It is a nice small folder, does not look threatening, is really comfy in hand and has a nice action.

      Not upset at all. I don't make videos in Romanian very often anymore. Main reason is that only Romanians will understand those. Same with German. All I am trying to do is share my experiences, give information, that I don't see in other videos.
      There are many videos in languages I do not understand and they seem to have good info...I'd love if those would be in English....
