For me Gao Shun is the best option because it would make the Lu Bu story much more interesting and I would love to see his relationship with Lu Bu, Zhang liao and maybe chen gong
I think regarding Shu, I'd like to see Jian Yong, Liao Hua, and Wang Ping. Wang Ping is interesting because like Jiang Wei, he defects from Wei to Shu, and is famous for defeating one of Wei's five generals, that being Zhang He, as well as saving Ma Su during the northern campaign.
Liao Hua, Cao Hong, Zhuge Jin and Sima Yan are super valid. My bias number one is Lu Kang because my all time favorite is Lu Xun, and if it takes an older Lu Xun I don't mind. Also he is considered to be the last if not one of the last great generals of Wu. For Jin I would also add Yang Hu and Du Yu. Yang Hu and Lu Kang had a respectable friendship while being part of rival kingdoms. Du Yu is the man responsible for conquering Wu.
Oh interesting, Yang Hu sounds interesting to add if they add Lu Kang too, love the relationship aspect of the game so anything that enhances that Im all for it!
Only ones who should truly be considered are those who will help complete the story and actually expand on the events of the story. 1. Liao Hua 2. Cao Zhen 3. Yuan Tan 4. Yuan Shang 5. Sun Hao 6. Sun Jun 7. Fei Yi 8. Sima Yan 9. Wang Jun 10. Tufa Shujineng
For sure, but with it being so fictional in a sense as well, adding others to build upon that to make an interesting story, Im all in for. Similar to like Wo Long
1-Cao Hong: Obvivious choice, Cao Cao's fourth pilar, he is one of the high ranking commander, how it took that much of time is questionable maybe that story is the reason. 2-Lady Bian: Highly requested character. Another obvivious choice. 3-Zhang Liang, Zhang Bao or Zhang Mancheng: We need another Yellow Turban leader after Zhang Jiao. I miss the old detailed Yellow Turban rebellion era. 4-Zhang Rang: Leader of the Enouch faction. That chaos in capital should be a detailed chapter. How they massacred He Jin, the war, their escape and how Dong Zhuo took power. They could use creative freedom like tieing Zhang Rang with Yellow Turban Rebllion. 5-Li Jue: Important member of Dong Zhuo's army, he basically took his place. Another important chapter game should focus on more. 6-Gongsun Zan: Another obivious choice. Yuan Shao and Gongsun Zan conflict is important chapter. 7-Han Sui: He is actually more important character than Ma Teng. 8- Yuan Tan, Yan Liang or Wen Chou : Guan Du conflict is important, Yuan side needs more representives. 9-Fe Yi: Obvivious character, Wei Yan and his conflict is another important event, he simply abondoned Zhuge Liang's plan. It could have potential for Fe Yi and Jiang Wei conflict. 10-Cao Ang: Elder son of Cao Cao died Wangcheng with Dian Wei and his cousin Cao Anmin. His sacrifce could create dramatic moment. They could use him Yellow Turban Rebellion and Dong Zhuo wars (He was too young at the times but who cares they used Sun Jian's kids before)
I'm not gonna lie, I wish they could make Ma Liang or some of the Ma family as playable characters. Ma Liang has always had this regal feel to him and considering his nickname was "White Eyebrows", he could have like a mustache, pointed goatee and bushy white eyebrows that makes him more of one of the more mystical characters
My additional reason for Zhuge Jin is that there's a saying "Shu Deqilong, Wu Deqihu, Wei Deqigou", meaning "Shu's Dragon, Wu's Tiger and Wei's Dog" symbolizing Zhuge Liang, Zhuge Jin and Zhuge Dan. Might as well complete the trio. Additionally, Zhuge Liang is Zhuge Jin's biological younger brother, while Zhuge Dan is a distant cousin. I would love to see interactions and conversations between the brothers and their life choices xD I honestly do not want to see ya boy Kongming here being a stale, cold, aloof loner.
My #1 and #2 are females honestly. #2 being Lady Bian, I agree with everything you said. #1 being Lady Wu, Sun Jian's wife, mother of Sun Ce, Sun Quan and Sun Shangxiang. Here I prefer going the historical route and not the disgusting act of the novel of splitting this character into two, Wu Guotai and Lady Wu, just to justify more Sun Shangxiang mistreatment (wedding assassination plot) My reason being is that she's older sister of Wu Jing, the guy's the reason why Sun Ce served under Yuan Shu for some time. Another is after Sun Ce died, Lady Wu is actually a really good foundation as to cooperating with the other advisers so that Wu would not come crumbling down. How important is she in Wu's affairs? Before the Battle of Chibi, she held a private meeting with her and Zhou Yu only to discuss about... her son LOL , that's how important she is. (I also think it's also cool if Zhou Yu also calls her "mother", it's still historically plausible) Although my problem here is that she would compete too much with Lian Shi in being an emotional support and mother figure of the Sun Clan. Another Sun Quan emotional support person other than his mother and his wife is Zhang Zhao, although it's more of a tough love relationship 😂
Yeah it would be cool to see Zhuge's relationship and interactions with each other. Also with Lady Wu, Im totally down for that and can definitely see her being added and adding to the story of Wu. Some points you mentioned with Lady Wu I didnt even know so that was fun to read! Im just down for them adding any characters or builidng up characters that would make the game more interesting and increase the chemistry among characters, that's what makes a good story
Dowager is not her Empress name, it's the title a queen or an empress "get" when their husband dies. This way there would be two empresses: the actual empress and the wife of the previous emperor.
I don't know much on a story perspective when it comes to this but from playing dw for so long the npcs that I always noticed the most during the early games are Cao Hong, Liao Hua, Jiang Qin, Zhuge Jin, Li Jue, He Jin, Gao Shun, basically all the yellow turban Zhang brothers, Yan Liang & Wen Chou, Han Sui, Zhang Ren. Gongsun Zan & Ma Teng should definitely be playable. Also this is just personal but Meng Huo and Zhu Rong could use some company. They've been representing Nanman as a duo for over 2 decades.
Great video. You should read Yellow Sky Revolt, which is book 1 of the Three Kingdoms Chronicles. Liao Hua is the main character, and it is told so well.
Speaking of the rebellion. I would like to see more playable characters from the early years that kicked off this shit show. More members of the yellow turban rebellion and a Eunuch or two.
Honestly? Yeah, having checked up on him in RoTK? Sun Hao is fitting for 'final boss of the three kingdoms'. Bonus if they include the scheming eunuch Cen Hun as an optional objective, with him as a third party trying to flee after the Wu officals turn on him. Sun Hao could be given a minor niceness in letting him make some pointless final stand, while still showing him for the petty tyrant of the story.
Lu Kang would be a great Addition, because it would be a first Step to elaborate more the Endphase of the Three Kingdoms Era. Of Course Koei had to integrate a Aging-System for the Characters if you tell a Story which dures about 100 years. I would recommend 3 Ages (Young, Mature, Old) for the most Characters (I Know, its more work for Koei). In your List i cann definitely agree with Zhuge Jin, Fei Yi, Gongsun Zan, Ma Teng, Sima Yan, Lady Bian, Cao Hong and Liao Hua ;-)
A character that stand out for me was Yan Yan a shu officer who was there since the start kind of I think but he was usually around a lot in DW9 in my perspective but I would want to see him as a playable character or at least Zhuge Zhan the son of Zhuge Liang
Since the start? Yan Yan used to be Liu Zhang's officer and then surrendered to Shu after facing Zhang Fei. I also think he's a good pick although the chances of having a second old man for Shu are rather slim lol
I feel like Wang Ping is slept on despite how historically, he lead the rescue of Ma Su at Jie Ting. not to mention he was able to successfully defend Lucheng against Zhang He so you can have that be part of his story with a rivalry against him considering their shared important at Jie Ting.
Kong Rong is someone i'd like to see as he was a huge rival to Cao Cao. He Jin is another as he's always portrayed as leading the army against the Yellow Turbans and his conflict with the eunuchs caused the power vacuum that allowed Dong Zhou to take the capital. Wen Chou and Yan Liang would help to add to Yuan Shaos story. Even though the series revolves around the Three Kingdoms i'd like more characters from outside to flesh out what's going on around the kingdoms, and even before the Yellow Turban rebellion
I'd quite like to see Liu Xie added. They'd be taking some creative freedom putting him out fighting. But the last Han emperor would give some interesting viewpoints and a big opportunity for an alternate story.
- Liao Hua, the most obvious choice - Li Jue and Guo Si, their importance is very underestimated - Meng Da, I just loved his parts in the book - Yan Liang/Wen Chou, that old fool Yuan Shao needs more than NPCs around him - Pan Zhang, interesting background, great general, and I don't know why but in my last games of DW5 on the Wu side he was f'ing unstoppable.
Interesting choices! Im down for whoever as long as the chemistry is dope. I just got Samurai warriors today and the chemistry Keiji Maeda has with Goemon and Kenshin and alot of other characters has made it interesting to watch
My opinions: Pang Hui: He's a good choice for adding somebody who just straight up really hates the Guan family and has an understandable reason for that. Su Fei: I'm not feeling him tbh. He actually didn't do that much in Wu, and while the story about him and Gan Ning is interesting, it's kind of a one off deal. Zhuge Jin: Good choice. Has lots of obvious connections in-game, and then there'd be a Zhuge in each of the three kingdoms. I like Ke as well, but Jin had a lot of achievements too. Fei Yi: Good choice. He was the CiC basically at the time Cao Shuang invaded and attacked Xingshi. I prefer Wang Ping, but Fei Yi is a good choice too. Gongsun Zan: Great choice. He's the White Horse general and adding him could let them explore Yuan Shao's various battles with his faction. He was also friends with Liu Bei. He has a lot of unique flair and historically was kind of a badass in his early career. They should absolutely add this guy. Ma Teng: I've never been a big fan of Ma Teng, but he'd be an ok choice if they want to make a longer, more fleshed out story for Ma Chao, and kind of flesh out that backstory a little bit more. Sima Yan: If they want to finish the story, he is necessary imo. Lady Bian: As far as female characters go, she's pretty good. I can't think of anybody else I'd prefer in Wei tbh, except for some late Wei figures as opposition to the Sima family. Cao Hong: Great choice. He was a pivotal general of Cao Cao's. Liao Hua: Liao Hua is a pretty good choice as far as Shu-Han officers go, but tbh he didn't really achieve that much and is somewhat overrated in my opinion. He's better than a lot of the recent characters they have added to Han in my opinion though. Some of my choices: Other?: Yuan Shao's wife Lady Liu. Historically she was a jealous and vindictive woman, killed a bunch of Yuan Shao's concubines after he died, and then cut off their hair and messed up their faces. She was influential in making Yuan Shang the heir. In the novel, this is exaggerated a lot to the point where she basically takes power as Yuan Shao is lying on his deathbed, and manipulates and takes advantage of his weakness to have Yuan Shang be made heir. She was at Ye when it was captured, and she introduced Cao Pi to Zhen Ji. One thing I like about adding her is that unlike a lot of other characters from Yuan Shao's faction, she survives his death. It isn't too clear when she died, but imo they could have her outlive the whole faction. Shu-Han: Wang Ping. This guy was great. He was originally a Wei officer, but surrendered to Liu Bei after Hanzhong was taken. He advised Ma Su against camping on a mountain, and was one of the few officers to keep the army in good order as Han's army disintegrated at Jieting. Later when Zhuge Liang was campaigning in 231, he defeated Zhang He. When Wei Yan burned plank roads and essentially mutinied after Zhuge Liang's death, Wang Ping yelled at him, reminding him that Zhuge Liang's body was not even cold yet and still he was basically throwing a tantrum. Because of this a lot of Wei Yan's troops left him, and this helped contain that mutiny. From that time on he was promoted in rank and oversaw Hanzhong. When Cao Shuang invaded, Wang Ping was basically the vanguard and held Wei's troops off until reinforcements arrived, even though he was vastly outnumbered and many in Shu advised that he leave Hanzhong and resist from a more defensible location. Wang Ping was illiterate, but he had other people read him the classics and became somewhat learned and conversant in history even though he couldn't read. This is the one guy I want more than anybody in Han. For Wu: A personal favorite of mine is Yu Fan. He originally served Wang Lang, and advised him not to fight Sun Ce. Wang Lang ignored him, got his ass handed to him, and then Yu Fan ended up joining Sun Ce. He convinced Hua Xin to surrender to Sun Ce. He constantly trolled and pissed off Sun Quan after Sun Quan became ruler, however, infuriating him so much that Sun Quan almost had him killed. Sun Quan was convinced to spare him by others, however, and instead repeatedly had Yu Fan exiled as far south as possible. Despite his exile, he was invited by Lu Meng to join the campaign against Guan Yu, and successfully predicted an ambush attempt by Shu-Han, which allowed Lu Meng to avoid it. When Sun Quan defeated Guan Yu, he captured Yu Jin (previously Guan Yu's prisoner). Yu Fan advised Sun Quan to execute Yu Jin, but was ignored. Later when Sun Quan wanted to ally with Gongsun Yuan, Yu Fan advised it was a horrible idea, but this pissed off Sun Quan even more so he exiled Yu Jin even further South. Despite his exile, Yu Fan was a renowned scholar of medicine and philosophy and had a large number of students, even in the distant locations he was sent to for angering Sun Quan repeatedly. Another cool choice is Lady Wu, who was Sun Jian's wife and had a lot of influence at court during the Sun Ce and Sun Quan reigns up until her death. Wei: I like your choices tbh.
Interesting, loved reading this comment. Honestly I thought of Wang Ping, he is a really good choice. Yu Fan sounds cool, sounds like a better choice over Su Fei if he has that much information. I dont know about Lady Liu, I honestly dont want to see more of Yuan Shao until they revert back to his old self pre DW6, I feel like their characters would clash if Yuan Shao remains the same
@@TheNightowlGaming Yeah they ruined Yuan Shao after DW5 sadly. When it comes to female characters, I like the ones who had some kind of influence on politics or strategy, so that's why I like characters like Lady Wu (Sun Jian's wife) or Lady Liu (Yuan Shao's wife). Lowkey I kind of want Yuan Shao to get the Lu Bu treatment where he's kind of treated like a somewhat serious faction instead of a joke character, but I dunno if that will happen or not. I feel like due to Total War 3k, it might happen.
My list would be- 1) MaTeng 2) Gongsun Zan 3)Guanqui Jian 4) Wang Ping 5) Gao Shun 6) Yan Liang 7) Wen Chou 8) Ling Cao 9) Ji Ling 10) Wu Tugu Honorable mention- Shamoke. And I don't think they need to do a full blown story mode/focus on every character. As long as they are active in the mainline story for each rulers kingdom, its plenty. With perhaps a bonus mission or two focusing on their most notable activities.
I wanted: 1 - Cao Ang, since i saw his sacrifice to save Cao Cao. 2: Li Ru, he was Dong Zhuo's main advisor. 3 - Li Jue, he took the throne after Dong Zhuo's downfall 4 - Sun Jian's younger brother, Sun Jing. 5: - Tao Qian, he appeared little but his importance in xia pi. 5 - Liu Biao, not only he had connection with Liu Bei, he had clashes with Sun Jian and Sun Ce too.
For characters like Lady Bian, they shouldn't need a weapon or be a "warrior." Like in the Samurai Warrior series, there are characters like Lady Muramatsu, Yukimura's sister who exist for the story. But my Number 1 would be Chen Dao, the leader of the White Feather Gaurds who Zhao Yun's feat is mostly taken from in RoTK. And Number 2 would be Cao Ang. He should be more than the son that gave up his horse and sacrificed himself.
Yea Cao Ang could be interesting even though he wouldnt have a long historical story and Chen Dao, ill have to do some research into him, his name seems familiar
@The Nightowl I play a lot of Total War with mods like MTU and TUP. Cao Ang becomes my heir because I usually beat the campaign by the time Cao Pi comes of age. Have him marry Cai Wenji/Cai Yan because theyre around the same age. Have him govern central plains and battle against rebellions. Honestly theres a lot of potential in his "what if" story I would love to see explore in Dynasty Warriors
I think Hosokawa very important character in question from storyline since Oda, Toyotomi and Tokugawa. It's would good if KoeiTecmo add him but replacing Gracia in the next (six).
Great vid my man and love the explanations for each character too {for someone like me who may not know everyone on the list} AND LOVE THE RESPECT FOR TOP 2!!!
I wouldn't mind the games being darker. I mean its a game about war and death who are we keeping it G rated for? I been wanting Gao Shun he been one of my favorite since I started playing Romance of Three Kingdoms I would love Bian Shi!! Like then we have Nobunaga and No vs Cao Cao and Bian especially seeing she is kind and he so cold it would be nice to see that I have no idea why we don't Cao Hong or Cao Xing yet....
I like all these picks but I think number one should be liu biao in many iterations he's killed sun quan, he tried to trick lu bu so he could hand him over to cao cao like there's no reason he shouldn't be playable
I think hua xiong should be a playable character too. If you watched the three kingdoms series. He is described as the third strongest general of dong zuo with lu bu being 1. If im not wrong, even in games he is labeled as one of dong zuo's strongest general. His role in the hypothetical battle of lubu story in DW8 is awesome too. They may also add yuan shao's sons as well as Wen Chou and Yan Liang.
Unpopular opinion but I want to see He Jin become playable. Since Zhang Jiao has been playable since DW2, might as well have He Jin, since he also ties into the Ten Eunuchs storyline too
I wish they could at least give some more characters (like Ma Teng, Liu Biao, Gongsun Zan, etc.) unique models for the empires games. Even if the budget wouldn't allow them to hire unique voice actors for them. Unique model is better than nothing.
gongsun zan. is actually a great add. in romance of the three kingdoms he is a solid top 40 officer. and has a strong war connection with yuan zhao and was the lord over zhao yun at one point.
Stopped playing since DW6 (PS2). Surprised that Gongsun Zan still is not in the DW game. I mean, he is the actual White Horse General (or some splendid name in chinese) ... If Yuan Shao is a special character, then Gongsun Zan must have one too, no? KOEI is interesting ...
Zang Ba would be most interesting in storytelling, because even until his death, he and his troops are technically never under Cao Cao. He just let them ... exist, and work loosely with/for Cao Cao.
it is a crime fictional characters were added in before historically important characters. Who cares about Guan Yu's fictional son and his fictional wife? I wanna play as Liao Hua. I really think a lot of cuts need to be made to the roster imo.
Lu Kang, Huang Hao and Yan Yu would all be great late stage picks as Lu Kang is the last great general of Wu and Huang Hao is the guy who basically got Shu ended, Yan Yu (not the white tiger bandits brother) is apparently a great warrior of Shus late stages and had a rivalry with a Wei or Jin character whos name escapes me right now and his death made it harsh for Shu, honestly they should've added him before more of Guan Yu and Zhang Feis kids tbh. Special mention to Sun Luban eldest daughter of Sun Quan who was devoted to him but also incredibly power hungry and helped cause the downfall of Wu.
I like a lot of your picks for future Dynasty Warriors games. Ma Teng would be awesome to play as and Sima Yan would add to the story since he’s the one who ultimately untied China and became Jin’s first emperor. I’d like to see an expansion of the story at the beginning with the Yellow Turban rebellion. They should add Zhang Bao and Zhang Liang and go into how the rebellion began. It would also give Zhang Jiao more to do by adding his brothers.
Personally, I can definitely see Bianshi being in as a kind of character to balance Cao Cao out. A calm loving and caring wife who knows what needs to be done, to balance out the ambitious husband. And I would think, Cao Zhang (a son of Cao Cao), I believe I read that he fought tigers and actually fought Lu Bu and won. Can you imagine him as a strong powerful character in the Cao family? You have a kingly figure in Cao Cao, a prince like figure in Cao Pi then a mighty fearless warrior in Cao Zhang. Showing that the Sun Family aren’t the only family that are tough.
@@TheNightowlGaming Yeah it would. I need to double check on that. I just remembered reading on a Cao family member and did that. I’d love to see a part to of this list. There’s tons of npcs in DW that have big roles or significants. Like Zu Mao, another retainer to Sun Jian like Huang Gai, Cheng Pu and Han Dang. Yuan Shao’s sons, other members of the Sun Family, and so on.
@@TheNightowlGaming Just checked on Cao Zhang. He was either second or fourth son (various sites say differently) of Cao Cao and was said to have wrestled and killed wild animals with his bare hands. I think I’m mistaken on the fight with Lu Bu, still looking into that. But still a character to have, Cao Pi as the brains and Cao Zhang as the brawn of the Cao family.
@@TheNightowlGaming Yeah. But I don’t think he had major battles or events involving him. Although, if there’s enough Cao kids, DW could make a cutscene of Cao Pi disposing his brothers that may try and take the throne to become emperor.
@@TheNightowlGaming it’s a good series! I think they cut the roster and changed art style to try and see how well it was received, only reason I’m thinking DW10 might cut some characters that don’t really do much for the story
Didnt Dynasty Warriors already took the reboot path when DW6, DW7, or DW8 were release because when it comes to reducing character roster to me in DW10 they can obviously get rid of open world mechanic stick with old style mechanic while adding old and new characters.
My top five Later Han/Three Kingdoms personalities that should appear in a future Dynasty Warriors game 1. Cao Hong- let's show some love for Wei's most neglected general and he'll have a hammer as his weapon a la Shimazu Yoshihiro from Samurai Warriors 2. Liao Hua- he's gotta be there as a long standing follower of Liu Bei and he'll make his appearance during the Yellow Turban Rebellion as a former Yellow Turban thug who repented due to Liu Bei's good heart. His weapon of choice would be a shovel (hey, a rake was used as a weapon by Lu Su, ya know) 3. Cheng Yu- let'e add another major strategist for Wei, shall we? He could use a bunch of scrolls loaded with dynamite as his weapon 4. Li Jue and Guo Si- we gotta add more members of the Dong Zhuo gang and they'll be like Kato Kiyomasa and Fukushima Masanori from Samurai Warriors . Heck, let them have their weapons too 5. Sima Yan- if we gotta wrap up the Three Kingdoms saga, Sima Yan's gotta be present and his weapon would be a fan sword in which the blades eject or in order to inflict the killing blow, the blades have strings which force the poor sucker to be dragged to Sima Yan and he tears them apart with his fan sword
@@TheNightowlGaming Cheng Yu would be an old man unlike his fellow strategists who look like hearthrobs except Xun You and Jia Xu and he would serve as a mentor to them. He would develop a hostile relationship with Jia Xu at first due to the fact that he’s the one who orchestrated the Wan Castle massacre and he always tells Jia Xu “if you ever plan on stabbing our lord in the back, I shall personally execute you” and as time goes by, Cheng Yu acknowledges Jia Xu’s loyalty and praises him for being a valiant and trustworthy fellow.
guys, i wanna get this game it looks insane but the reviews on steam arent that good, please tell me if this game is worth and also if 10 is coming out soon, thanks
From what I know, a lot of latter characters from the end of the Three Kingdoms period are not in, like Cao Shuang so it’s be nice to get some of them. I’d like to see He Jin, Gongsun Zan, Kong Rong, Han Sui, Xu Rong, Li Jue, Gao Shun, Zhang Liang and Zhang Bao (Yellow Turbans) in to flesh out the Yellow Turban Rebellion and Dong Zhuo Campaign a bit more. Would also be nice to get Cao Hong and some of the smaller warlords like Liu Biao and Ma Teng since Shu has a battle again Liu Biao’s army and Ma Chao was Ma Teng’s son.
My top 10: 1. Cao Hong (potential early storylines, escaping with Cao Cao from Dong Zhuo' assasination attempt, consistent presence thereafter) 2. Pan Zhang (very important feats and villainous character, responsible for capturing Guan Yu and death of Huang Zhong, getting killed by Guan Xing, Wu needs a villain) 3. Liao Hua (most consistent presence in Shu, longest living general) 4. Cao Zhang (underrated character, very warlike and powerful son of Cao Cao, potentially assasinated by his brother Cao Pi) 5. Chen Tai (important and very talented Wei/Jin general and official, political rival of Jia Chong) 6. Gao Shun (good sidekick for Lu Bu faction) 7. Yan Yan (initially Liu Zhang's general, then fights for Shu consistently, although Shu will then have 3 old men, I'd love that even if developers wouldn't) 8. Cao Zhen (also very important and talented member of the Cao family with lots of potential storylines) 9. Sha Moke (controversial pick, peculiar name and appearance, kills Gan Ning, not enough presence in battles unfortunately, but still too much potential to pass by) 10. Cheng Yu (very talented politician and strategist, also known for being extremely tall, would make a decent and peculiar character) Honourable Mentions: Sima Yan (for obvious reasons, though he wouldn't have many characters to complement him that far in the story) Yang Hu (good pick but they would have to add Sima Yan too) Jiang Qin (Wu has too few officers, could be a decent pick) Wen Pin (important Wei general, if not a bit generic) I'd also like to see generals such as Gongsun Zan, Ji Ling, Yan Liang and Wen Chou, but I think that would require a heavily revamped design of the story mode. If they wanted to focus on a proper open world with lots of quests and hypothetical stories, it would be great, same counting for characters such as Cao Zhang and Sha Moke. Otherwise, these characters hardly have the potential to stand out in a game focused on the three kingdoms and featuring specific battlefields.
I have not played the recent dynasty warriors game but they should add the other lords among others like Gongzun Zan, He jin, Liu Biao or Zhang Xiu. Would be cool to see them have their own story now that Jin is a thing. They should give the other lords a chance.
Every DW game I've ever got recently I've always wanted to play as the orochi. I think they're the coolest. Dynasty warriors strike force had us Vs the entire orochi
I never heard of Su Fei, but your idea of how Gan Ning begged to let him live as well as a possible dynamic against the Wei's Hefei Trio convinced me. I think i gotta make his CAW soon. Thanks. Also, on that additional list at the very end. You mentioned someone else along with Cheng Yu, Zhuge Ke, and Jia Nanfeng, but i can't hear who they are. Can you tell me who are they more clearly
One character addition I have always thought would be fascinating is Huang Hao. There is so much they could do with him story wise. The dude was severely corrupt and a horrible influence on Liu Shan and Shu, and it would be a neat dynamic to the late Shu story, both as an internal villain, and a hypothetical redemption route. But Liao Hua has been at the top of my list since DW 7 was announced, and they said they were going past Wu Zhang. I have thought his inclusion was super obvious since, and grow further and further incensed with each game they don't add him, lol. Other interesting - and I use the word interesting instead of good because frankly, most of the best additions are already in the game- characters would be Yan Liang and Wen Chou, as well as Ju Shou to give us a true Yuan Shao mini faction. Or Gao Shun and Hou Cheng for Lu Bu, and Li Ru, Guo Si and Li Jue for Dong Zhou.
My list would be: 1. Liao Hua 2. Chen Tai 3. Cao Hong 4. Wang Ping 5. Zhuge Jin 6. Gao Shun 7. Gongsun Zan 8. Cao Zhen 9. Zhuge Zhan 10. Sun Luban Honorable mentions would be Zhang Yi, Lady Wu+Wu Guotai combination, Zhu Huan, Pan Zhang, Cao Jie, and Jian Yong
this is the video I waited from you dude, it is nice list but here is mine 10: Gan Ji 9: Bianshi 8: He Yan 7: Zhao E 6: Empress He 5: Zang Ba 4: Zhu Ling 3: Liao Hua 2: Cao Mao 1: Gangsun Zan
I would love to see Yan Liang and Wen Chou with their separate attires and models. Plus the story of Yuan Shao is a great addition to the mix since I've been expecting a hypothetical route for him. Slaying Guan Yu at Guan Du using Yan Liang or Wen Chou would be so cool. Zhang Liang and Zhang Bao are also fantastic. Seeing the Yellow Turban smashing through even the likes of Cao Cao and Lu Bu can bring a breath of fresh air to the entire series.
For me the added characthers should be focused on the later part of the story, i think what we get in earlier part up to the formation of the three kingdoms is where most of the roster are now, so my picks (in no particular order) would be: 1. Zhuge Ke 2. Lu Kang (Both he and Zhuge Ke play major part in late Wu) 3. Liao Hua (An officer in early era, but his lifespan do make an interesting persfective to the story) 4. Gao Shun (To complete the Lu Bu faction) 5. Yang Hu (Rival to Lu Kang, good addition for Jin and to spice up thing in the later era) 6. Du Yu (The officer who conquers Wu, ending the three kingdoms) 7. Sun Hao (The last Wu emperor) 8. Sima Yan (The one that unite the land) 9. Cao Shuang (rival to Sima Yi who cause his coup) 10. Zhuge Jin (To complete the three Zhuges of the three Kingdoms) Honorable mentions (could be UNPCs at least) 1. Ma Teng 2. Gongzun Zan 3. Huang Shao (The eunuch that led to Shu's fall) 4. Wu Goutai (To complete the main Sun family) 5. Li Jue/Guo Si ("Successor" to Dong Zhuo's force) 6. Lady Bian (adding more to Cao family)
I hope next dynasty warriors (10) has a lot of fitur like aging character, still open world but more complex, make strategi before war, and most important new playable force and new playable character like: Jin Army: Sima Yan, Yang Hu, Chen Tai Shu Army : Liao Hua, Ma Liang, Chen Dao. Wu Army : Lu Kang, Zhuge Ke, Zhu Zhi, Sun Luban Wei Army: Wen Qin, Xin Pi, BianShi Dong Zhuo Army: Li Ru, Zang Ba, Gao Shun Yuan Shao Army: Yang Liang, Wen Chou, LiuShi Yellow Turban Aemy: Zhang Liang, Zhang Bao. Nanman Army: King Wutugu, Meng You, Anhuinan, Huaman. Other Army: Gongsun Zan, Ma Teng. I wait for this big update 😢
I think Cao Hong, Liao Hua and Lu Kang should absolutely top this list. Lu Kang is not only Lu Xun's son but he is also Sun Ce's grandson (Lu Xun was married to Sun Ce's daughter). He was also known as the last great hero of Wu. With a decent focus on the latter years of the 3K era being represented in the games, it blows my mind how the greatest late Wu character Lu Kang hasn't been added. Another fun extra for Liao Hua is that he used to be a yellow turban so that adds another character to that faction in the early game, similar to Zhou Cang.
I would be interested in seeing Lady Yuan (daughter of Yuan Shu) who later became a concubine under Sun Quan after her father’s death. Could be developed as a more grounded and debatably more competent than Yuan Shu or Yuan Chao (think Ginchiyo Tachibana from Samurai Warriors or a Felina Feral to Yuan Shu/Chao’s Commander Feral from SWAT Katz) and a good way to continue the Yuan family’s presence in the later years of the Three Kingdoms.
My personal choices are: 1. Gao Shun 2. Li Ru (a strategist for Dong Zhuo's forces) 3. Bianshi (one of the first lady appeared in the early chapter) 4. Liao Hua (someone who witness the start until the end of Shu kingdom) 5. Wu Guotai (same as Bianshi) 6. Wen Hu (Wen Yang needs some interaction with his family) 7. Wen Chou (Yuan Shao's general) 8. Yan Liang (Yuan Shao's general) 9. Du Yu or Yang Hu (Jin characters to fight and conquer Wu) 10. Lu Kang or Sun Hao (we need someone who could be the last playable character for the last chapter of the three kingdoms era) (Edited) Honorable Mentions: - Yang Huiyu (Sima Shi needs some love and could act as Fiancee or Wife - Huaman (additional member of Nanman) - King Wutugu (a strong general with uniqueness of his rattan armor from Nanzhong) - Tian Feng or Shen Pei (Yuan Shao's main strategist) - Gongsun Zan (Yuan Shao's northern rival)
@@TheNightowlGaming for Wu Guotai, I want her to have a good relationship with her husband, sons, and daughter in laws but somehow an antagonist mother to her own daughter and chastises her whenever time arises 😂. For Lady Bian, she should be a strong, elegant, wise, kind, and frugal matriarch of Cao family. Her relationship with her family (husband, son, daughter-in-law, cousins, and relatives) could be explored
I more or less agree with this list. I would say the main characters that are missing, at least for me, are Liu Baoi (Who is a major player during most of the early game) and Lady Wu (Just because of how much family is a major theme for Wu). There's also Sun Luban, who would be awesome in theory but requires such a large rewriting of the Wu story that I doubt they would ever do it. Still, you kind of have to love the idea of Sun Quan's evil daughter who is trying to take over the kingdom. She's also pretty much Lu Xun's real life archenemy.
While I can appreciate with additional characters, and even agree with some of your points, there's a "but". I would rather fewer playable characters if it ment no clones. I know that's how it went in the story, but the reason I like Sima Zhao is because of his care free, no responsibility personality. That would totally clash with trying to portray him as a father figure.
True, it would be tough to implement but still could be interesting. Im definitely in favor of if they dont add more people just flesh out the underdeveloped characters and relationships. Some of them were so bland in DW9
For me, its only reasonable to add those later Shu, Wu and Jin officers no need to add the very early chapter of Later Han officers like Gongsun Zan, Gao Shun or Ma Teng. Most likely if there would be next sequel of DW, Koei will likey focus on adding those characters that exist until the end of the Three Kingdom. Like Lu Kang, Sima Yan, Zhuge Jin, Liao Hua, Fei Yi.
I agree with you on number 1 but #0 should be Wing Ping. Does anyone remember that big cutscene he had in DW6 against Wei. I was sure he would be playable by now
My list would be: -Zhuge Jin -Guo Si -Li Jue -Wen Chou -Yan Liang -Huangfu Song -He Jin -Liu Biao -Zhang Zhao -Zhuge Ke -Sun Hao I think there are very important in the novel, mainly in the early stages.
Is this gameplay from DW9? Never got much past the intro in it because it just wasn't DW to me. Keep wanting to try again but just can't get myself to do it.
How about Liu Feng and Meng Da?? Liu Feng was adopted but was actually going to be Liu Bei's heir before Liu Shan was born.. His story could be developed even further as he was remorseful about Guan Yu's death, even quarelling with Meng... Meng Da was going to switch back to shu too after switching side to wei. So he is up for interesting storyline too
Im all for any characterrs being added that add to the story and make the chemisty between characters better. Chemistry is so important for a good story
Great list , also if I will add another caractère, it's will be huangfu song from the han army, if you read history then of course you know what this men did in the yellow turbans battle ( you Can consider it like the hero of this battle Historically ), this in my opinion will be great addition to the first battle in the game
The ones I want added, that were not in the rankings, are Lady Wu(Sun Jian's wife), Sun Luban and Sub Luyu(Sun Quan's daughters). I hope they add more to late-era Wu, they were the last of the three kingdoms to fall, but they just exist along side Jin as of now.
Dowager is a title. Dow-waj-jer. It's either a title given to an elderly woman or a widow of the emperor. Empress Dowager isn't a person, it's a title lol. Just thought I'd pass that on. But cool video, do agree with number 5 and everything after.
I think instead of adding more characters, they should make the characters visually age in the appropriate manner(ages), that way people can get a better feel for how old people were at certain points in the story/game levels
I think they should add in He Jin, Tao Qian and Kong Rong, given they played important roles during the Yellow Turban Rebellion, Coalition Against Dong Zhuo and Cao Cao's story respectively. Yan Liang & Wen Chou would be good picks as well given they were Yuan Shao's best officers
Ma Teng is the obvious choice... He can be the Yuan Shu, Meng Huo character... He already has Pang De, Ma Chao, Ma Dai, Han Sui and Wang Yi as characters to interact with
Gongsun Zan is the leader of the white horse riders cavalry so he should be in full white costume armor with his white horse riders and also zhao yun was a white rider captain in his unit which is why zhao yun is dressed in white even though he is from Shu faction
I literally was telling my friends as i was playing through dw9 how cao hong, and liao hua should be New characters. another one is Yan Yan , with Huang Zhong
Liao Hua was my first suggestion to. But to my opinion will be intresting to have someones from the begining of the era on minor sided, like Li Ru, Dong Ming, Wen Chou ahd Yan Liang, Yuan Tan, Yuan Shu. And someones memorable in each kingdoms like Yan Yan and Ma Su for Shu, for Wu it is definetly Zhuge Jin or Zhuge Ke for Wei dont have any, becouse every one I wanted after 8 they added in the 9. And dont hve any memorable in Jin for me.
@@TheNightowlGamingI believe it’s Mi fang the one that betrays guan yu, and I remember the twist they do with him in DW4 with LU Bu Musuo mode when he keeps apaering and eventually surrenders to Lu bu’s magnanimity. If I would choose 1 for each main kingdom for me it would be: Shu: Liao Hua Wu: Jian Qin Wei: Cao hong or Cao zhang For the other kingdoms I would love: Gao Shun The nanman general that comands armored nanman I believe it’s king mulu And zhang man Cheng for the Yellow turban
Lu Xun could get a facial hair progression like liu bei to allow Lu Kang Fei Yi was a a general in fact he was Grand General of the (Shu) Han dynasty. Gongsun Zan does have a lot of battles and events around him so i agree he could be an interesting character. I would like want sima yan just so we could have the founding emperors again. Although honestly I just wish Jin would disappear sometimes. The game could definitely use some more female characters who aren’t like young girls so I would be all for adding lady Bian, lady wu lady Gan (or maybe empress wu) among a few others. Also do you think non-Han characters could be cool such as Yufuluo or Kebineng would be cool.
Yeah I guess lol, since they dont go past 263, the characters down there dont have an opportunity to do much, but if they did, then characters like Wen Yang or even Jia Nanfeng could work really well
Its a crime that Dong Bai was added before great generals like Liao Hua, Chen Dao, Li Yan, Cao Hong, and my personal fav, Gao Shun.
oh yeah Gao Shun! they got a lot of good options they just need to make sure they're decently developed characters so many empty ones rn
Guo Si and Li Jue should be added too
I honestly think her inclusion is just plain stupid.
Yeah even if they wanted to add another female character for the other faction I think Lady Liu or Ma Chaos mom who was Qiang
and Jiang Qin too haha
For me Gao Shun is the best option because it would make the Lu Bu story much more interesting and I would love to see his relationship with Lu Bu, Zhang liao and maybe chen gong
Im totally down for that! Whatever adds to the story and makes the game more interesting to watch, Im all in!
This! One of Lu Bu's top generals - Loyal to death! - He would look pretty cool in whatever black armor suit they give him!
Gao Shun 100%, already have multiple officers from Lu Bu's force in there
I always like Song Qian? too but im pretty sure he defected 💀
how about the discount 3 brothers of Hou Cheng, Wei Xu and Song Qian xD. They're not acutally sworn brothers but just Lu Bu's officers
Yeah im down for those 3 becoming playable also cool pfp
@@TheNightowlGaming Thank you thank you.
I've been crying out for Yan Liang, Wen Chou for ages, as well as possibly Zhang Bao and Zhang Liang for the Yellow Turbans
As long as it brings more depth to the game, im in!
Exactly.
Yan Liang and Wen Chou would add so much for Yuan Shao.
Shu: Liao Hua, Ma Su, Shamoke
Wu: Zhuge Jun
Wei: Cao Hong, Wen Pin
Other: Gao Shun, Yan Liang, Wen Chou
A solid list 😁
Only ones who should truly be considered are those who will help complete the story and actually expand on the events of the story.
1. Liao Hua
2. Cao Zhen
3. Yuan Tan
4. Yuan Shang
5. Sun Hao
6. Sun Jun
7. Fei Yi
8. Sima Yan
9. Wang Jun
10. Tufa Shujineng
For sure, but with it being so fictional in a sense as well, adding others to build upon that to make an interesting story, Im all in for. Similar to like Wo Long
I've always felt this way, but I would be amazed if they added Tufa Shujineng or Sun Jun.
They could use him Yellow Turban Rebellion and Dong Zhuo wars (He was too young at the times but who cares they used Sun Jian's kids before)
Some good arguments for certain characters for sure, as long as they can add those who will make the story more interesting, im all for it!
I fking hate HATE Cao pi
I'm not gonna lie, I wish they could make Ma Liang or some of the Ma family as playable characters. Ma Liang has always had this regal feel to him and considering his nickname was "White Eyebrows", he could have like a mustache, pointed goatee and bushy white eyebrows that makes him more of one of the more mystical characters
Sounds dope to me
I am picturing Pai Mei from Kill Bill.
I would love to see interactions and conversations between the brothers and their life choices xD
I honestly do not want to see ya boy Kongming here being a stale, cold, aloof loner.
My #1 and #2 are females honestly.
#2 being Lady Bian, I agree with everything you said.
#1 being Lady Wu, Sun Jian's wife, mother of Sun Ce, Sun Quan and Sun Shangxiang.
Here I prefer going the historical route and not the disgusting act of the novel of splitting this character into two, Wu Guotai and Lady Wu, just to justify more Sun Shangxiang mistreatment (wedding assassination plot)
My reason being is that she's older sister of Wu Jing, the guy's the reason why Sun Ce served under Yuan Shu for some time.
(I also think it's also cool if Zhou Yu also calls her "mother", it's still historically plausible)
Although my problem here is that she would compete too much with Lian Shi in being an emotional support and mother figure of the Sun Clan.
Ah gotcha
I didnt even think about the Nanman lol but true I agree
For the Nanman faction, I definitely want to see King Wutugu (giant Nanman) and King Mulu (wild animal tactic)
Great video. You should read Yellow Sky Revolt, which is book 1 of the Three Kingdoms Chronicles. Liao Hua is the main character, and it is told so well.
That sounds dope, he should definitely be added would be interesting
Speaking of the rebellion. I would like to see more playable characters from the early years that kicked off this shit show. More members of the yellow turban rebellion and a Eunuch or two.
My personal pick: Sun Hao
The day they make a game that covers the whole story of the Three Kingdoms, they'll need to add in the obvious final boss.
NIceee
@@TheNightowlGaming Plus, I personally think that he should be Sima Yan's Arch-Nemesis. Yes, Sima Yan needs to be playable also.
@@NoelJohnCarlo Obviously, KT needs to follow up on the ending DW7, which singled him out as the guy who finishes the war.
@@Sorain1 Yeah, as the last boss of the whole Three Kingdoms and all that.
Now the question is: What weapon would he wield?
Yep! It would definitely be cool to see, it probably wont happen but im down for anything that adds on to the game!
A character that stand out for me was Yan Yan a shu officer who was there since the start kind of I think but he was usually around a lot in DW9 in my perspective but I would want to see him as a playable character or at least Zhuge Zhan the son of Zhuge Liang
Yeah those are some good choices whoever makes the game more interesting, Im in
Since the start? Yan Yan used to be Liu Zhang's officer and then surrendered to Shu after facing Zhang Fei. I also think he's a good pick although the chances of having a second old man for Shu are rather slim lol
@@Zhongda95 I realized my mistake after doing more research a month i posted this comment, Thx though
I feel like Wang Ping is slept on despite how historically, he lead the rescue of Ma Su at Jie Ting. not to mention he was able to successfully defend Lucheng against Zhang He so you can have that be part of his story with a rivalry against him considering their shared important at Jie Ting.
yeah thatd be cool!
For sure definitely open to it
I'd quite like to see Liu Xie added. They'd be taking some creative freedom putting him out fighting. But the last Han emperor would give some interesting viewpoints and a big opportunity for an alternate story.
sounds dope to me
- Liao Hua, the most obvious choice
- Li Jue and Guo Si, their importance is very underestimated
- Meng Da, I just loved his parts in the book
- Yan Liang/Wen Chou, that old fool Yuan Shao needs more than NPCs around him
- Pan Zhang, interesting background, great general, and I don't know why but in my last games of DW5 on the Wu side he was f'ing unstoppable.
Interesting choices! Im down for whoever as long as the chemistry is dope. I just got Samurai warriors today and the chemistry Keiji Maeda has with Goemon and Kenshin and alot of other characters has made it interesting to watch
Honestly, Liao Hua is definitely a must at this point since they finally made Cheng Pu playable. Both are veterans in their kingdoms.
Do you think they’ll be a Dw10 as a final ? Hopefully not like dw9 though
I hope not its the final game, im just hoping for a good DW game full of content
Cao Hong, Liao Hua, Lady Bian + Gongsun Zan seem like no brainers to me. Would also love to see Zang Ba, he lived a very colourful life!
totally down for tat!
My opinions:
Pang Hui: He's a good choice for adding somebody who just straight up really hates the Guan family and has an understandable reason for that.
Some of my choices:
Other?: Yuan Shao's wife Lady Liu.
@@ViveLeEmpereur Total war 3k he is a tough opponent
hua xiong, gao shun, gong sun zhan, yuan shu,yan liang ,wen chou
Hua xiong is already playable they just need to build on him and maybe not make him so dumb

1) MaTeng
2) Gongsun Zan
3)Guanqui Jian
4) Wang Ping
5) Gao Shun
6) Yan Liang
7) Wen Chou
8) Ling Cao
9) Ji Ling
10) Wu Tugu
Honorable mention- Shamoke.
And I don't think they need to do a full blown story mode/focus on every character. As long as they are active in the mainline story for each rulers kingdom, its plenty. With perhaps a bonus mission or two focusing on their most notable activities.
@@MidnightBlackandVictoria solid list!
Bianshi and Zhuge Jin for me and also Jia Nanfeng! Empress He as well
Jia Nanfeng would be a cool add!
For me it's Gao Shun, Hua Xiong, Wen chou, Yan Liang, Zhuge Jin, Wutugu, King Mulu, Gongsun Zan, Zhang Liang, Zhang Bao and Liao Hua.
A solid list!
5 - Liu Biao, not only he had connection with Liu Bei, he had clashes with Sun Jian and Sun Ce too.
sounds good to me, im down for any that add to the story!
Id definitely love to see Gongsun Zan, Gao Shun, Yan Liang, Wen Chou, Ma Teng, Li Jui, Guo Si and Hua Xiong thats not DLC.
Yeah those are some solid choices for sure, whatever makes the game more whole
I think they should add shamoke. A mini stage for him taking down gan ning.
That would be interesting
you forgot Zang Ba. After Lu Bu death, he joins Wei and became minister of Cao Cao
True, I also forgot Gao Shun, I think I 'd put him over Zang Ba
Top 10 Characters need to be playable in Samurai Warriros:
10- Nagamasa Kuroda (Kanbei's son)
9- Hideyori Toyotomi (Hideyoshi's son)
8- Ujimasa Hojo (Ujiyasu's main son)
7- Hideie Ukita (Toshiie's son in law)
6- Nobutada Oda (Nobunaga's son)
5- Matsu Maeda (Toshiie's wife)
4- Muneyoshi Yagyu (Munenori's dad)
3- Yoshiaki Mogami (Masamune's uncle)
2- Hidemasa Hori (oda-toyotomi great general)
1- Tadaoki Hosokawa (Gracia's husband)
I think Hosokawa very important character in question from storyline since Oda, Toyotomi and Tokugawa. It's would good if KoeiTecmo add him but replacing Gracia in the next (six).
I dont know SW as in depth, but I agree with your assessments! haha
Great vid my man and love the explanations for each character too {for someone like me who may not know everyone on the list} AND LOVE THE RESPECT FOR TOP 2!!!
Ayeeee Lighty!! Appreciate it very much my friend!!
I wouldn't mind the games being darker. I mean its a game about war and death who are we keeping it G rated for?
I been wanting Gao Shun he been one of my favorite since I started playing Romance of Three Kingdoms
I would love Bian Shi!! Like then we have Nobunaga and No vs Cao Cao and Bian especially seeing she is kind and he so cold it would be nice to see that
I have no idea why we don't Cao Hong or Cao Xing yet....
Yeah Gao Shun was a good one I totally forgot about
I always wanted Wang Ping to be added.. reason being, ever since i started playing from dw5, i saw Wang Ping in many, many fights..
True and he gets a nice moment in DW6
@@TheNightowlGaming right.. i am still flabbergasted knowing he still isn't a playable..
I like all these picks but I think number one should be liu biao in many iterations he's killed sun quan, he tried to trick lu bu so he could hand him over to cao cao like there's no reason he shouldn't be playable
I assume you mean Sun Jian, but yeah Id be down for him
I think hua xiong should be a playable character too. If you watched the three kingdoms series. He is described as the third strongest general of dong zuo with lu bu being 1. If im not wrong, even in games he is labeled as one of dong zuo's strongest general. His role in the hypothetical battle of lubu story in DW8 is awesome too. They may also add yuan shao's sons as well as Wen Chou and Yan Liang.
he is playable in DW9!
Unpopular opinion but I want to see He Jin become playable. Since Zhang Jiao has been playable since DW2, might as well have He Jin, since he also ties into the Ten Eunuchs storyline too
I wouldnt mind it!
Yuan Shaos children mostly XD
Wen Chou and Yan Liang!
Yeah those two would be dope
Honestly I’d want the early rulers to get faces, guys like Ma Teng and Liu Biao.
Would make the Empires games better.
100%
@@TheNightowlGaming appreciates how attentive to the comments you are fam.
I've been binging your videos for days they're GREAT
Haha I appreciate that! Love reading all the comments, this game and franchise means a lot to me and im sure everyone else too 🔥🔥@@lzi9452
Yeah would be a cool side story
Stopped playing since DW6 (PS2). Surprised that Gongsun Zan still is not in the DW game. I mean, he is the actual White Horse General (or some splendid name in chinese) ... If Yuan Shao is a special character, then Gongsun Zan must have one too, no? KOEI is interesting ...
Wen Chou and Yan Liang if they give Yuan Shao a full campaign
Yeah that'd be cool
#1 and 2 are excellent choices! I also believe Zang Ba and Meng Da deserve being playable officers.
Yeah whatever makes the game better !
I dont think cuts are a good idea, last time they did that it was an uproar, I just think they need to fill characters out
Lu Kang, Huang Hao and Yan Yu would all be great late stage picks as Lu Kang is the last great general of Wu and Huang Hao is the guy who basically got Shu ended, Yan Yu (not the white tiger bandits brother) is apparently a great warrior of Shus late stages and had a rivalry with a Wei or Jin character whos name escapes me right now and his death made it harsh for Shu, honestly they should've added him before more of Guan Yu and Zhang Feis kids tbh.
Special mention to Sun Luban eldest daughter of Sun Quan who was devoted to him but also incredibly power hungry and helped cause the downfall of Wu.
Yeah those all sound like great adds and anything that adds more intrigue and chemistry, im all for!
100%, wen chou and yan liang would be sick along with gao shun
Agree with Gongsun Zan and Ma Teng…Ma teng died later than we think too
Yeah itd be cool to see their story
Nice choices be interesting to see who they actually add in the end.⚔️🌅🍀
Solid video!
🔥
Personally, I can definitely see Bianshi being in as a kind of character to balance Cao Cao out. A calm loving and caring wife who knows what needs to be done, to balance out the ambitious husband.
And I would think, Cao Zhang (a son of Cao Cao), I believe I read that he fought tigers and actually fought Lu Bu and won. Can you imagine him as a strong powerful character in the Cao family? You have a kingly figure in Cao Cao, a prince like figure in Cao Pi then a mighty fearless warrior in Cao Zhang. Showing that the Sun Family aren’t the only family that are tough.
damn yeah if thats true thats dope, adding him would definitely adding another powerhouse to the already powerhouse kingdom of Wei
@@wiselkhzhang7853 Yeah absolutely sounds like a character that could be rivaled to DIan Wei and the other big boys of the seris
@@TheNightowlGaming Yeah. But I don’t think he had major battles or events involving him. Although, if there’s enough Cao kids, DW could make a cutscene of Cao Pi disposing his brothers that may try and take the throne to become emperor.
Nice list! Hopefully TK/Omega Force doesnt take the samurai warriors 5 route and cut the roster and only give us half the story 🤣
I just started playing SW1 and im going in order so I can dive as deep as I can into the franchise, I hope its not to bad when I get to 5 lol
@@CAAzodiac08 I’m hoping for a few new characters 👍 I’m okay with them cutting fictional or characters that don’t do a lot for the story
My top five Later Han/Three Kingdoms personalities that should appear in a future Dynasty Warriors game
1. Cao Hong- let's show some love for Wei's most neglected general and he'll have a hammer as his weapon a la Shimazu Yoshihiro from Samurai Warriors
2. Liao Hua- he's gotta be there as a long standing follower of Liu Bei and he'll make his appearance during the Yellow Turban Rebellion as a former Yellow Turban thug who repented due to Liu Bei's good heart. His weapon of choice would be a shovel (hey, a rake was used as a weapon by Lu Su, ya know)
3. Cheng Yu- let'e add another major strategist for Wei, shall we? He could use a bunch of scrolls loaded with dynamite as his weapon
4. Li Jue and Guo Si- we gotta add more members of the Dong Zhuo gang and they'll be like Kato Kiyomasa and Fukushima Masanori from Samurai Warriors . Heck, let them have their weapons too
Yeah I had Cheng Yu on my list originally but took him, honestly them just adding people to help the story out is all I want
A shovel? Nah bro liao hua needs a spear.
@@zacflemo1994 We don't want a new Dynasty Warriors game to have too much clone weapons now, do we? Unleash if the spear has a flag.
correct: they added Xiahou Ji before adding Liao Hua. Thanks for the great vid as always 🤣
glad u enjoyed it!
guys, i wanna get this game it looks insane but the reviews on steam arent that good, please tell me if this game is worth and also if 10 is coming out soon, thanks
Its worth if its on sale, Dynasty warriors 8 is good, Dynasty warriors 9 is fun if youve never played it before but I would recommend DW8
For sure, i think anyone added should help the story and add a good layer
My top 10:
1. Cao Hong (potential early storylines, escaping with Cao Cao from Dong Zhuo' assasination attempt, consistent presence thereafter)
2. Pan Zhang (very important feats and villainous character, responsible for capturing Guan Yu and death of Huang Zhong, getting killed by Guan Xing, Wu needs a villain)
3. Liao Hua (most consistent presence in Shu, longest living general)
4. Cao Zhang (underrated character, very warlike and powerful son of Cao Cao, potentially assasinated by his brother Cao Pi)
5. Chen Tai (important and very talented Wei/Jin general and official, political rival of Jia Chong)
6. Gao Shun (good sidekick for Lu Bu faction)
7. Yan Yan (initially Liu Zhang's general, then fights for Shu consistently, although Shu will then have 3 old men, I'd love that even if developers wouldn't)
8. Cao Zhen (also very important and talented member of the Cao family with lots of potential storylines)
9. Sha Moke (controversial pick, peculiar name and appearance, kills Gan Ning, not enough presence in battles unfortunately, but still too much potential to pass by)
10. Cheng Yu (very talented politician and strategist, also known for being extremely tall, would make a decent and peculiar character)
Honourable Mentions:
Sima Yan (for obvious reasons, though he wouldn't have many characters to complement him that far in the story)
Yang Hu (good pick but they would have to add Sima Yan too)
Jiang Qin (Wu has too few officers, could be a decent pick)
Wen Pin (important Wei general, if not a bit generic)
I'd also like to see generals such as Gongsun Zan, Ji Ling, Yan Liang and Wen Chou, but I think that would require a heavily revamped design of the story mode. If they wanted to focus on a proper open world with lots of quests and hypothetical stories, it would be great, same counting for characters such as Cao Zhang and Sha Moke. Otherwise, these characters hardly have the potential to stand out in a game focused on the three kingdoms and featuring specific battlefields.
for sure, whoever adds to the story im all for it!
I have not played the recent dynasty warriors game but they should add the other lords among others like Gongzun Zan, He jin, Liu Biao or Zhang Xiu. Would be cool to see them have their own story now that Jin is a thing. They should give the other lords a chance.
Facts
could add Zhang Lu in there
Every DW game I've ever got recently I've always wanted to play as the orochi. I think they're the coolest. Dynasty warriors strike force had us Vs the entire orochi
That'd be interesting
I never heard of Su Fei, but your idea of how Gan Ning begged to let him live as well as a possible dynamic against the Wei's Hefei Trio convinced me. I think i gotta make his CAW soon. Thanks.
Also, on that additional list at the very end. You mentioned someone else along with Cheng Yu, Zhuge Ke, and Jia Nanfeng, but i can't hear who they are. Can you tell me who are they more clearly
Yeah Su Fei's got an interesting story with Gan Ning. I think I also mentioned Lady Wu, Sun Shangxiang's mom, she potentially could be a nice add
@@TheNightowlGaming Ah, Wu Guotai. Got it. Got it. Thanks
Solid choices huang Hao would be cool
Lady Bian would be nice to see. Her weapon though… What would her weapon be that would be fitting?
I think the emei piercers would fit her or the bow blade
My list would be:
1. Liao Hua
2. Chen Tai
3. Cao Hong
4. Wang Ping
5. Zhuge Jin
6. Gao Shun
7. Gongsun Zan
8. Cao Zhen
9. Zhuge Zhan
10. Sun Luban
Honorable mentions would be Zhang Yi, Lady Wu+Wu Guotai combination, Zhu Huan, Pan Zhang, Cao Jie, and Jian Yong
Some solid choices!
this is the video I waited from you dude, it is nice list but here is mine
10: Gan Ji
9: Bianshi
8: He Yan
7: Zhao E
6: Empress He
5: Zang Ba
4: Zhu Ling
3: Liao Hua
2: Cao Mao
1: Gangsun Zan
Nice nice, what an interesting list! I dont really care who they add as long as they arent so empty like some of the new additions from DW9
@@TheNightowlGaming you do make a good point dude
I would love to see Yan Liang and Wen Chou with their separate attires and models. Plus the story of Yuan Shao is a great addition to the mix since I've been expecting a hypothetical route for him.
Slaying Guan Yu at Guan Du using Yan Liang or Wen Chou would be so cool. Zhang Liang and Zhang Bao are also fantastic. Seeing the Yellow Turban smashing through even the likes of Cao Cao and Lu Bu can bring a breath of fresh air to the entire series.
yeah those would be some great adds
For me the added characthers should be focused on the later part of the story, i think what we get in earlier part up to the formation of the three kingdoms is where most of the roster are now, so my picks (in no particular order) would be:
1. Zhuge Ke
2. Lu Kang (Both he and Zhuge Ke play major part in late Wu)
3. Liao Hua (An officer in early era, but his lifespan do make an interesting persfective to the story)
4. Gao Shun (To complete the Lu Bu faction)
5. Yang Hu (Rival to Lu Kang, good addition for Jin and to spice up thing in the later era)
6. Du Yu (The officer who conquers Wu, ending the three kingdoms)
7. Sun Hao (The last Wu emperor)
8. Sima Yan (The one that unite the land)
9. Cao Shuang (rival to Sima Yi who cause his coup)
10. Zhuge Jin (To complete the three Zhuges of the three Kingdoms)
Honorable mentions (could be UNPCs at least)
1. Ma Teng
2. Gongzun Zan
3. Huang Shao (The eunuch that led to Shu's fall)
4. Wu Goutai (To complete the main Sun family)
5. Li Jue/Guo Si ("Successor" to Dong Zhuo's force)
6. Lady Bian (adding more to Cao family)
Heck yeahh I totally agree, was talking abut it in my stream today, as long as it adds value to the game Im all for it!
I hope next dynasty warriors (10) has a lot of fitur like aging character, still open world but more complex, make strategi before war, and most important new playable force and new playable character like:
Jin Army: Sima Yan, Yang Hu, Chen Tai
Shu Army : Liao Hua, Ma Liang, Chen Dao.
Wu Army : Lu Kang, Zhuge Ke, Zhu Zhi, Sun Luban
Wei Army: Wen Qin, Xin Pi, BianShi
Dong Zhuo Army: Li Ru, Zang Ba, Gao Shun
Yuan Shao Army: Yang Liang, Wen Chou, LiuShi
Yellow Turban Aemy: Zhang Liang, Zhang Bao.
Nanman Army: King Wutugu, Meng You, Anhuinan, Huaman.
Other Army: Gongsun Zan, Ma Teng.
I wait for this big update 😢
Plus:
I hope next series has hypothetical good ending and bad ending.
Has feature crafting weapon, item, etc
And more realistic
🔥🔥🔥
im excited for DW10 too! I hope they really make up for DW9!
I would really love to see Sun Ben. One of the coolest, but most slept on characters in the time period who would give a lot of fun moments to Wu.
Im down for it, whatever adds more depth to the game 🎮
Yeah absolutely, Im sure they're gonna add at least one of them for 10 lol
I would be interested in seeing Lady Yuan (daughter of Yuan Shu) who later became a concubine under Sun Quan after her father’s death.
Could be developed as a more grounded and debatably more competent than Yuan Shu or Yuan Chao (think Ginchiyo Tachibana from Samurai Warriors or a Felina Feral to Yuan Shu/Chao’s Commander Feral from SWAT Katz) and a good way to continue the Yuan family’s presence in the later years of the Three Kingdoms.
That sounds good, maybe a hypothetical where she rises up
My personal choices are:
1. Gao Shun
2. Li Ru (a strategist for Dong Zhuo's forces)
3. Bianshi (one of the first lady appeared in the early chapter)
4. Liao Hua (someone who witness the start until the end of Shu kingdom)
5. Wu Guotai (same as Bianshi)
6. Wen Hu (Wen Yang needs some interaction with his family)
7. Wen Chou (Yuan Shao's general)
8. Yan Liang (Yuan Shao's general)
9. Du Yu or Yang Hu (Jin characters to fight and conquer Wu)
10. Lu Kang or Sun Hao (we need someone who could be the last playable character for the last chapter of the three kingdoms era)
(Edited) Honorable Mentions:
- Yang Huiyu (Sima Shi needs some love and could act as Fiancee or Wife
- Huaman (additional member of Nanman)
- King Wutugu (a strong general with uniqueness of his rattan armor from Nanzhong)
- Tian Feng or Shen Pei (Yuan Shao's main strategist)
- Gongsun Zan (Yuan Shao's northern rival)
Some solid choices!
@@vickyfarhan95 Don't forget Sima Yan! He should be the Arch-Nemesis of Sun Hao.
gongsun zan and ma teng really need to be there, at least on empire title
Yep!
Yeah they sound great, anything that adds on to the story and builds more chemistry with the characters, im all for it !
I hope so, whatever adds more chemistry into the game
I agree with you on number 1 but #0 should be Wing Ping. Does anyone remember that big cutscene he had in DW6 against Wei. I was sure he would be playable by now
Oh yeah the ambush yeah that was cool
i want to see them add Cheng Pu as he served under Sun Jian, Sun Ce and Sun Quan and was one of WU's oldest warriors.
he's been added in DW9 lol
@@TheNightowlGaming oh yeah i forgot😅
Its probably because i always remember him as a NPC
Crazy that he didn’t get added earlier tho
My list would be:
-Zhuge Jin
-Guo Si
-Li Jue
-Wen Chou
-Yan Liang
-Huangfu Song
-He Jin
-Liu Biao
-Zhang Zhao
-Zhuge Ke
-Sun Hao
I think there are very important in the novel, mainly in the early stages.
True whatever makes the story better Im all for!
Is this gameplay from DW9? Never got much past the intro in it because it just wasn't DW to me. Keep wanting to try again but just can't get myself to do it.
Yes its DW9 Empirss actually, its got its fun moments
How about Liu Feng and Meng Da?? Liu Feng was adopted but was actually going to be Liu Bei's heir before Liu Shan was born.. His story could be developed even further as he was remorseful about Guan Yu's death, even quarelling with Meng...
Meng Da was going to switch back to shu too after switching side to wei. So he is up for interesting storyline too
Im all for any characterrs being added that add to the story and make the chemisty between characters better. Chemistry is so important for a good story
Thanks for the video but rally the One how tok after Zhuge liang is jang wan and Fei Yi and I rally though you will talk about Yan Yan
Yan Yan is definitely a solid choice and I wouldnt be opposed to him becoming playable if he adds more chemistry to the game
Thank about it Yan Yan and Huang Zhuong 😏

Great list , also if I will add another caractère, it's will be huangfu song from the han army, if you read history then of course you know what this men did in the yellow turbans battle ( you Can consider it like the hero of this battle Historically ), this in my opinion will be great addition to the first battle in the game
Would be cool at some point yeah
The ones I want added, that were not in the rankings, are Lady Wu(Sun Jian's wife), Sun Luban and Sub Luyu(Sun Quan's daughters). I hope they add more to late-era Wu, they were the last of the three kingdoms to fall, but they just exist along side Jin as of now.
True, I feel that, hope they give more to Jin too
Dowager is a title. Dow-waj-jer. It's either a title given to an elderly woman or a widow of the emperor. Empress Dowager isn't a person, it's a title lol. Just thought I'd pass that on. But cool video, do agree with number 5 and everything after.
I always appreciate the extra info! Glad you enjoyed the video!
hua xiong for me specifically for the hypothetical stages of lu bu
hua xiong is playable in 9! hes not very good though
I think instead of adding more characters, they should make the characters visually age in the appropriate manner(ages), that way people can get a better feel for how old people were at certain points in the story/game levels
True and add more elements and stories to build those up who need it
For me Jian Yong who serve Liu Bei for many years
Yeah that'd be cool, he has a unique interaction with him in DW8XL in ambition mode I believe
I think they should add in He Jin, Tao Qian and Kong Rong, given they played important roles during the Yellow Turban Rebellion, Coalition Against Dong Zhuo and Cao Cao's story respectively. Yan Liang & Wen Chou would be good picks as well given they were Yuan Shao's best officers
definitely some solid picks
Agree with 1 and lady bian! Sure you can do the others too ahahhaha
👀👀😁😁
Yan Yan, Liao Hua, Jian Yong, Wang Ping, Cao Hong, Cao Zhang, Cao Zhen, He Qi and Jiang Qin have been in the series for so long I think it's time 😅
Or just unique looking NPCs for the ones they dont add Im cool with too 😁
Ma Teng is the obvious choice... He can be the Yuan Shu, Meng Huo character... He already has Pang De, Ma Chao, Ma Dai, Han Sui and Wang Yi as characters to interact with
Yup!
Gongsun Zan is the leader of the white horse riders cavalry so he should be in full white costume armor with his white horse riders and also zhao yun was a white rider captain in his unit which is why zhao yun is dressed in white even though he is from Shu faction
For sure
I literally was telling my friends as i was playing through dw9 how cao hong, and liao hua should be New characters. another one is Yan Yan , with Huang Zhong
Liao Hua can also, play a role like the Wu Early generals like Huang gai
They would be so sick to add, and even though I forgot to mention it in the video, I agree with Gao Shun becoming playable to that'd be sick
There is also potential in people like kuai yue and shi tao
yeah whoever adds to the story!
I think they should add zhou fang. I remember he play as the main in the battle of shi ting and manage to trap cao xiu.sorry for my bad english
he might be good!
Forgot about Zhang Bao and Zhang Liang for minors.
ohh
and Zang Ba
ohh
I forgot about Fu Shi Ren and that other guy who betrayed Guan Yu abd kidnap RedHair
There are definitely some good options out there and I think its Meng Da that betrays Guan Yu
@@TheNightowlGamingI believe it’s Mi fang the one that betrays guan yu, and I remember the twist they do with him in DW4 with LU Bu Musuo mode when he keeps apaering and eventually surrenders to Lu bu’s magnanimity.
If I would choose 1 for each main kingdom for me it would be:
Shu: Liao Hua
Wu: Jian Qin
Wei: Cao hong or Cao zhang
For the other kingdoms I would love:
Gao Shun
The nanman general that comands armored nanman I believe it’s king mulu
And zhang man Cheng for the Yellow turban
Lu Xun could get a facial hair progression like liu bei to allow Lu Kang
Fei Yi was a a general in fact he was Grand General of the (Shu) Han dynasty.
I think anything that could add and make the story better, Im all for!
So, I see that you would prefer more characters from Yellow Turban Rebellion.
Yeah I guess lol, since they dont go past 263, the characters down there dont have an opportunity to do much, but if they did, then characters like Wen Yang or even Jia Nanfeng could work really well
@@TheNightowlGaming At that point, that's War of the 8 Princes spin-off idea, especially if you want Jia Nanfeng
