That sounds pretty much like being dead.
Aphelios and his sister, Alune, were born during a rare lunar confluence in which the physical moon was overshadowed by the spirit realm's moon. Aphelios was touched by the physical half of the moon, while Alune was affected by the spiritual half.
They were born to the Lunari, a tribe devoted to the moon. The Solari pushed them into hiding because they were considered heretics, and the children had to grow up concealed by darkness.
Aphelios felt the strain of being an example for the Lunari as the years passed, and he practiced wielding moonstone blades tirelessly in order to protect those who believed in the Lunari creed. Due to her tremendous spiritual and magical energies, his sister trained to be a seer.
Aphelios' faith faded without his sister by his side, so he embarked on a spiritual journey to find his way. He tracked the moon to a pond brimming with noctum flowers. Aphelios knew that drinking noctum flower essence would expose him to the power of the night, so he did. He felt nothing but anguish after drinking the essence, blinding him to everything else around him.
According to champion lore, soon after, an ancient temple transitioned from the spiritual to the physical plane. Lunari from all around the world emerged from concealment to see this wonderful occurrence. One of their own, a wizard, would be admitted to the castle, signaling a shift in the cosmic cycle.
Alune is the one who has to depart. When the light shifted and the Solari attacked, she ventured into the fortress, with all other Lunari observing. The Solari showed no mercy, slaughtering the Lunari without hesitation. Aphelios was also defeated, his moonstone swords obliterated.
Meanwhile, Alune marched deeper inside the temple, unleashing her full magical potential as she approached the temple's core. She reached out to her twin, forcing her magic onto him, making new moonstone blades that resembled his original physical ones.
Aphelios used his sister's abilities to eliminate all of the Solari who had attacked them.
According to Aphelios champion lore, Alune pushed the temple into the spirit realm to keep it safe from the Solari. Alune's power could be sent wherever as long as it had a focus - the noctum essence running through Aphelios. Their future became evident as a result of their connection.
the reason her voice doesnt change in the skin is because it's not a legendary skin.
legendary skins are a full new voiceover and they may use special effects on the voice but there are exceptions where normal skins get one or two different voice lines (very rare though) and this was one of them

1. Zoe, before she became the Aspect of Twilight.
Was part of the Lunari religion which makes her thousands of years old.
2. The champion Leona represents the Aspect of The Sun and Diana represents the Aspect of The Moon.
3. Aphelios' weapons are focused through Alune, without Alune, Aphelios wouldn't be able to summon his weapons.

Aphelios and his twin sister Alune (the spirit-like woman behind Aphelios in the splash art) were born during a "rare lunar convergence, when the physical moon was eclipsed by its reflection in the spirit realm" Aphelios and Alune were seen as children of destiny to what remains of the Lunari faith. Aphelios and Alune had gifts, Aphelios represented the physical moon and Alune represented the spiritual side of the moon. The Lunari faith were the complete opposite of the Solari faith, the Solari worshipped the sun and felt safe in the light, where the Lunari worshiped the moon and felt safe in the darkness, Aphelios and Alune took this to such a degree though that they felt that the only thing that could keep them safe in the world was the darkness.
The Solari hated the Lunari and wish to kill all of them since they are seen as heretics, the Lunari used to be the dominant religion of Mount Targon but those times were thousands of years ago, the dominant religion started to switch over to the sun slowly over time though and eventually became dominant so the Lunari were forced into hiding keeping their religion a secret so they're not eliminated. Aphelios trained hard to protect those of his faith and so the Lunari sent Aphelios on missions because he was getting more skilled by the day.
Alune however trained as a Seer but her duties had her leave the temple where the two were raised.
Without Alune, Aphelios found himself losing faith.
Aphelios decided to partake in a ceremony where the Lunari found their "orbits" or their path in life where they had to "journey into darkness", Aphelios eventually got to a pool and saw bloomin Noctum flowers underwater. Noctum flowers are said to be a poisonous plant but they could be made into a liquid and whoever drank from it is said to gain the
"night's power." Aphelios drank the liquid and felt
"intense pain that numbed him to everything else."
Meanwhile in the Marus Omegnum which was an ancient temple in the Spirit Realm started to come into the Physical Realm for the first time in centuries. The Marus Omegnum would only let one person who was gifted in magic go into the temple, this person would be Alune. Aphelios, asked to see his sister one last time before going into the ancient temple. As the Marus Omegnum started to come into the Physical Realm, the armies of the Solari had come to end the Lunari once and for all. Just as everything seemed as if it was over, Alune went into the heart of the temple and she connected to Aphelios with her magic, and she used her magic to make weapons to replace his broken blades. The battle ended shortly with the combined force of Aphelios and Alune the attacking Solari would never see the light of the sun they worshipped again.
Alune pushed the Marus Omegnum back into the Spirit Realm in case Solari tried attacking again.
Alune was now alone inside the Marus Omegnum but through the power of the Noctum flower's liquid she could talk to Aphelios and see the Physical
Realm through his eyes. With the power of Aphelios and Alune combined the two could protect more of their faith easily. The other Lunari might not understand their connection through the Physical and Spirit Realms but together Aphelios and Alune are the weapon they need.

Ancient temple comes back from the Spirit Realm and Alune is chosen because only one gifted in magic can go in once it reappears. Solari attack and Alune gets new powers that help her connect to Aphelios.
Solari all die and the two are now the greatest weapon of the Lunari.
Sorry if it seemed like this story wasn't told as well as the other ones, Aphelios' lore can be confusing to explain in a few parts but I put it as simple as I could. If you have any questions about things feel free to ask and I'II answer as best I can.
Aphelios is the most complicated champ in league he has 5 weapons which he switches between in the fight each one of them is unique and has different abilities these weapons was created by his sister who lives in the spirit realm and by the way he can't speak because of the poison he takes to be able to connect with his sister.
In game he switches between the weapons having 2 at a time a main hand and an off hand and each weapon have a limited amount of ammo before it switches to the next weapon.
He is very hard to understand even the pro players had a hard time learning him but he is a great champ overall

He physically can't talk. To use the weapons and connect with his sister he consumes a poison that constricts his throat to the point he he struggles to make sounds. Its also apparently painful, but he's quite fond of his sister and wants to help fulfill her purpose. Also yes, they are lunari. Essentially zealous assassins. Alune needs him to do things since she's kindof in another dimension, but she also tries however she can to keep him safe.
I'm also gunna say leona did more to hurt diana than diana did to leona. I never understood leonas lore, because she devoutly joined the solari after they tried to execute her. They just told her she was special and she went sign me up. Diana found lunari ruins, and told the solari council that you could in fact get power from the moon. They tried to have her executed to silence her and she killed them all because it turns out executing the chosen embodiment of a godlike power is hard for normal people.

He doesn't talk cause of a poison that he drinks to connect to his sister in the spirit realm, when drunk it causes massive pain across the body to the point he doesn't feel anything else and makes it impossible to speak.
Aphelios is not mute but he cannot speak due to the poison he is constantly drinking to connect with his sister Alune. But yeah, the voicelines is boring as there are no interactions. I think it is better if aphelios cannot see instead of cannot speak. Making Alune have a much more better role not just by giving aphelios weapons but an actual guide.
The thing he drops in the first seconds of the teaser is a poison that he takes to link with alune and use all those weapons, but the poison makes him mute.

Bruh you skip the best thing about riot games and thats the music theme of champions. Aphelios music theme was recommended right there 😭... and its one of the best ! You reacted to everything BUT the music theme of the champion.
Ah, Aphelio the champion who made everyone cry because he uses 5 guns, yes you were correct. to simplify he has an ammunition system, when he runs out of ammo, his sister Alune sends him a different gun. you use 2 at a time and it is up to you to combo them, some combos are preferred, others are ok, and some suck. keeping track of possible combos, next gun, ammo count, and different gun uses made players cry. this was a huge change from a point-and-click game with sometimes pressing q, w, e, r.
if you are curious his 5 guns are "the Calibrum (sniper rifle), the Severum (scythe/pistol), Gravitum (gravity cannon), Infernum, (flamethrower) and then Crendscendum (chakram/frisbee on drugs)." - Brough to you by the gaming community.
To answer your question the halo sword-looking one is Calibrum and the one in the voice lines picture is Severum.

i hate aphilios gameplay, but i love the theme they gave him and his design
Aphelios has the BEST theme in the game... his voicelines tho are irrelevant.
@26:40 no dude you're not supposed to sit there and say "wow they look cool" for 2 seconds. It's a voice line from the game and while there are some characters that have good lines and voiceovers it's not supposed to tell you everything. I don't even know why you do these reactions for voicelines. Lmao. Plus the voicelines are the least of your concern if you're playing the game. Watch OW voice line you'd wish you unalive yourself instead of listening to all those cheesiness.
