This next expansion, my hopeful wishlist is a new playable race (dare I say even 2) combat/leveling improvements that allow more role play/options, like begining with an elite spec and lvling 1-80 with it, instead of needing to reach lvl 80 to unlock it, underwater combat improvements/more options for underwater, ranger pet customization, dyes or skins for the pets, mechanist mech cutsomizations/dyes
Pets have needed to be looked at for so long and the customization options for Mechs (and for pets for that matter) should seriously be added. Underwater combat improve is good but only if we are actually going underwater. Otherwise that'll feel like wasted effort.
@@Aerali They already improved a few years back but ya more improvements would be nice and no matter how many people actually dislike underwater anet does keep adding underwater content so that'll never stop, looking forward to the underwater areas of Janthir myself :)
@@mishking9547 I just think that if they were to balance underwater and work on some underwater stuff a little here and there throughout the years it wouldn't be hated so much by people. But beside that one update years ago they haven't done anything with it and it's annoying.
27:00 Tarir lore is probably just a clumsy retcon. I bet during development it was intended to be a Mursaat city but they changed it. That's why it looks so much how Saul described. Maps are usually made alongside and before storyline. Can't undo all that work once the map was built. The devs also once said the Deimos raid wing was supposed to be in Janthir but they changed it's location last minute for narrative reasons
Was nice for them to include the eye in this patch. All seems to tie so nicely together - especially when the fractal gave us more Deimos. Deimos...Wing 4...where we also saw the eye? I felt the reveal of the Bastion being from the Wizards to be missing some information. Perhaps the Eye's origin can finally explain the events.
Yes, it's indeed nice to have lore connections even between old expansion, new expansions and yet to be released expansions! Hoping we get some cool Mursaat and Janthir lore!
It seems to me like Janthir in general is a natural place of magic, which is why it seems the Murssat were attracted to it when they arrived on Tyria from Nayos. So that makes me wonder--are the original 'people of Janthir' some sort of magical race/people? They created the original Eye of Janthir, which it seems there might be more than one of and that the Mursaat/White Mantle took possession of. And if we're going there based off of interest or concern from Queen Jennah, is it somehow connected to Kryta and the magic users who live there?
Yes! Great points! It definitely all seems to point toward these "people of Janthir" being a very magic based civilization! And the kicker is, we haven't heard anything about them! We know about the Elder Races and even the Giganticus Lupicus from 10000 years ago but nothing about these people or their civilization. It's incredibly exciting to be able to find all this out!
Enjoyed the video and your lore speculations. Generative AI is scraping everyone's art to basically steal art online . Sure they look cool but to produce them huge amounts of water and energy were used to produce a single picture and the algorithm took billions of pictures online (including pieces from ArtStation where Arenanet artists post their art) to scrape for it all. I'd heavily rather see you draw stickman trees and hand drawn maps than use stolen labor. Or wait for actual expansion announcement idk
I don't disagree. I doubt I'll start drawing for the videos though, as it already takes me a incredibly long to even make any videos. Hopefully, maybe in the future when I have some money, I could commission some nice work for my videos.
I just want to play Tengu... why it is so complicated?! they already have a LOT of Tengu models from HoT, IBS and EoD...they already mention in the story from an RDM that the Dominion of Winds is going to be Open to the World...please, i just want to make some Bird People...
While I wish the same, I highly doubt they will ever add them. And with each expansion it's becoming less likely as well. Tengu use the charr rig which already clips with a ton of the armor, so having to make thousands of skins fit onto the models would be way out of the scope for A net to accomplish. Perhaps for GW3 we will see tengu be playable.
i did not have high hopes for SotO since I lowered my expectations knowing that this would be the first in the new format and would take some time to adjust and get ahead for what comes after SotO; this next expac is the one i will be less forgiven but I am concerned with all that is tied to this area with lore, there is so much that if the story is not defined correlty they will be all over the place like SotO(only enjoyed the first patch/release). I really care for storey and lore; GW has always been progressive/woke but lately Ive seen that story building is lacking due to this phenomenon by trying revolve story around this girl boss culture insted of being balanced and integrating this to story.
Regarding SotO, I'd rather have preferred two complete and intricate maps like HoT ones with plenty of stuff to do for a year and no Nayos. They seem WAY MORE confident for this expac and I'm pretty excited for Janthir. We'll see very soon how they planned things out for the future!
Great video! In my opinion Anet could just pull stuff out of their ass at this point as we have seen with Soto. They didnt know what to do after the dragons so they took a thing people wanted to see aka the Wizards Tower in this case , and duck taped the wizards and the kryptis out of nowhere. I want to get hyped but Soto was really bad in many aspects, map and enemy design looked like something out of a korean mobile rpg made by a 12 year old. Lore? good luck finding every little piece of readable text that glues the wizards to a bunch of past events so conveniently -.- . The kryptis? a bunch of crayon wielding toddlers took a gw2 artbook of past enemies and went at it.
Quality wise these mini expacs are worst content than living world was, you pay for an "expansion" that takes a year to be complete as they release it in small patches piece by piece with each being less than the last in every aspect of game design.
Yeah, I don't disagree with you. Everything being reused assets made that Kryptis incredibly cheap and boring and fitting the Astral Ward into the lore so perfectly feels weird at times. That said, I guess I was just trying to focus on more positive things. I know many people are upset at how Soto went (trust me, I am one of them. Had many a sleepless night after the last release because of how upset I was) but it unfortunately is what it is. I know we will get a Blogpost about what they have learned and that means also jack shit. I'm just trying to be hopeful and like I said in the video, I want to try to focus on the more positive things. So, just really one simple thing I can say: Fingers crossed 🤞 this next expansion is better than Soto!

the golden chalice also makes me think of the "cons" item in gw1 that was a golden chalice
Oh! Interesting thought. Well, the chalice itself isn't said to be golden, but I get what you are talking about none the less.

Yeah, Soto was rough after the initial release. I'm hoping for this to change with the next expansion. I need A net to really go ham on it
