This is literally one of the worst Prosecution opening statements I have ever seen. It’s amazing to me that it is in total contrast to the best opening defense statement I have ever seen. The trial of the century. I am from Canton/Stoughton. I have been fascinated by this case for so long. It’s currently day 13 of the trial and I had to rewatch this and i am just stunned, lally will loose his job after this trial im sure.
Yeah, horrible opening and he’s been horrible the whole trial. Honestly embarrassing, he’s like a fish out of water. What is the sentiment where you live? Do people actually buy that she killed him?
He never said how she killed him when she killed him Or why she killed him. All he did was confuse everything. Why did they pick this guy to give the opening statement for the state in such a high profile case?
One the worst, and one of the best opening statements. Glad I stuck around! Very strong, effective opening statement by the Defense! Seems she could have been framed! 😳
This is one of the worst prosecution openings statements I’ve ever heard. I mean this guy was the best public speaker they had? He’s terrible. I’m bored out of my mind, and prosecution. Opening statements are always one most entertaining parts if not, the most entertaining part of a court case. I hope they had planned on doing better than this during trial. Otherwise she might have a real shot here.
I thought the same but to be honest, having watched a few of these trials online, I'm surprised at how pathetic most of the not all but most of the lawyers can be. They're not compelling. I don't think they have the same command of language that previous generations had
agreed, he seems very rambly, hes not holding my attention, i havent taken a side in this, i have been waiting for the trial, i would be bored if on the jury, not a great start imo
I watched the opening statements to find out what this case is about. No matter how hard I tried to focus, I could not follow the prosecutor. I lost interest a few minutes into him speaking. I rewound and replayed and told myself, “focus!” And he still lost me.
If she did hit him, i don't believe she knew it due to drinking and the weather! However the wounds don't sound like a car hit him. I don't believe she would be capable of of beating him like that. Then go dump him out in front of a policemans house. That makes no sence.
Sorry to correct you, but it was actually a sloth. Do you want to talk about the evolution of sloths? They've been around for 50 million years, so idk. Just lmk 🙃
Ignoring the bad sound quality, this guy is an utter snoozefest. Compared to the defense who is practically an Olympian at speaking about stuff, this guy is a toddler barely getting his first steps in. I really hope for the prosecution that his arguments and evidence are way more conclusive than the defense made it sound.
As a mother of two toddlers, I guarantee you that my children started taking off very shortly after they started walking. They're both so freakin' long that they command your attention, unlike this guy who is so boring that I'm reading comments. My newly 2 y/o tries to die every day by walking into the road. Don't underestimate toddlers who have just started walking. As an aside, they're both more interesting to talk to than I can only assume this guy is. I don't know enough about the case yet to make a decision, but I am confident that (a) Even people who don't like children would rather talk to mine than to the prosecutor and (b) the defense's opening statement blew the prosecutor's opening statement out of the water. I didn't take my eyes off the screen. I believe you proved my second point, even if I took issue with your wording (I'm not actually offended.... just to be clear ☺️)
This prosecutor is going to bury their case! This opening statement was wayyyy to detailed and he read from the paper the entire time it seemed like! If they continue with this route the defense will have a cake walk! He is not living up to his pretrial confidence
What is up with the poor quality of the audio with some person who clearly needs some Claritin or something snorting, sniffling, coughing and all sorts of other sound effects. The only mic's that would be on would be the Podium microphone and audio visual mic. I think it's the judge that's being rude and making all of the noise and sighing at the defense attorney. So unprofessional of her.
Oh my God, you’re preaching to the choir over here. I’ve followed this for about a year with the pre-trials and judge Bev constantly mouse breathes into the microphone. And then you have Lally, who is the ADA, he just put you to sleep number one and number two you can never hear him he’s I don’t know what’s going on with his mic. It’s only his microphone so it’s gotta be away from his face because you can hear it fine in opening…. But then, after that, you can’t even hear a word he says, like you literally have to stand by your speaker.
How many witnesses does it take to prove a case my God! This seems excessive and overly complicating dropping too many names dates and irrelevant info for a “road map”! This was an atlas
This guy is the worst ever to give an opening statement… if I was a juror I’d ask for a repeat from another prosecutor who can speak methodically and specify names of each character in a manner to be clear and understood !! This guy spoke a million words without breathing making it very hard to understand who, what and where !!!!! My head would be spinning ! Ugh
Who’s in charge of the sound mixing here? Surely there’s a way to isolate the microphone of whomever is currently speaking and not have car horns, sirens, and the sighs and coughs and farts from every single person in the room clouding the recording.
No, she went to look for him bc he did not come home. It was Jen McCabe who suggested she should go to Fairview and not the Waterfall bar. Doesn't that strike you as strange?
Not if he was bending over at the time she backed into him and he hit his head on the pavement as he fell backwards knocking him out. You don't have to be ran over to be knocked unconscious from a car hitting you.
It defies logic that a bunch of Police would carry or drag a person or leave an unconscious person out in the yard on a freezing cold night . Police would not want a dead person in the yard in the morning they are not idiots.
So if a fight broke out and something bad happened maybe they thought if they put him outside they could blame the plow. Remember there was a lot of alcohol consumed. You think people think rationally when intoxicated?
@@LeannaMurphy-mx7zy With them being Police officers they could have had him arrested if someone was going to blame the plow they would put him in the gutter not on the lawn. Those scratches look like a female with long nails could have done it too. They said the car backed up at 24 mph according to the cars log . That's enough to hit someone who's bending down , even if she didn't know she hit him it's still manslaughter.
I think you need to look at the photos of the arm again! From fingernails? Really? So now you’re going that way? So in a snowstorm she backed up at 24 miles per hour? 😂 How did he end up so far away from the street?

🙏 they can never do this to another innocent person again! So sad all around

Defense > Prosecutor

WOW , this is gut retching - my deepest condolences to all of John's family

A blind person can see she’s innocent. She was totally framed
Ridiculous. The forensic evidence irrefutably proves that Karen Read killed John O'Keefe
This twit of a prosecutor is going to lose this case because you can not understand a bloody word he says. He has destroyed this case.
Hallelujah , listening to prosecutor-
man is def gonna be a good help for my insomnia ! Oh dear 😂
And then a turtle came crawling in lol
Sorry to correct you, but it was actually a sloth. Do you want to talk about the evolution of sloths? They've been around for 50 million years, so idk. Just lmk 🙃
She even talked with crawling turtle 🐢 He's a Creepy idiot
Thank God!
So many missing videos and Ring camera evidence
YANNETTI 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
#freekarenread #witchhunt
If this is made into a movie Rick Moranis will play the prosecutor.
Yessss😂

Brilliant defence opening!
Please tell me it gets better than the impossibly dull first two minutes - just a rote recitation of family history.
6 minutes in, its very hard to listen to, imo it dont get any better
watch the DEFENSE ATTORNEY lol my god a clinic
He said there was a "dusting" & the next sentence he was talking about snow plowing!
This prosecutor is going to bury their case! This opening statement was wayyyy to detailed and he read from the paper the entire time it seemed like! If they continue with this route the defense will have a cake walk! He is not living up to his pretrial confidence
The prosecutor’s constant throat clearing and sniffling is very annoying.
It’s the judge! And she seems to make a noise whenever Brian Higgins is brought up 🤔
And rambling
The prosecution should have made a visual timeline
Demonstratives can be helpful - especially in a complicated case like this. Many players.
its only opening statements
My heart goes out to John O’Keefe’s mother. May their hearts be calm.

It’s the judge she’s breathing all over the mic all day everyday . It’s brutal!
I can't follow this Prosecutor one bit.
Karen Read, herself, by her own statements, proofs that she is guilty. 🤓
How many witnesses does it take to prove a case my God! This seems excessive and overly complicating dropping too many names dates and irrelevant info for a “road map”! This was an atlas
Well maybe he might have thought it was different if KR hadn’t already said…she hit him! They treated it as a vehicular homicide imo
No they really didn’t.
They would have confiscated her car and arrested her if that were the case.
Prosecutor is a horribly boring speaker. The defense is more polished and dynamic. This unfortunately can effect the outcome of a trial.
This guy is the worst ever to give an opening statement… if I was a juror I’d ask for a repeat from another prosecutor who can speak methodically and specify names of each character in a manner to be clear and understood !! Did he say under the influence of LIQUOR? Hahaha what a loser. I think the legal term is ALCOHOL. 😅😂😮
Luminol?
Luminol is what they spray to indicate if it's blood
None used on this investigation.
They never went in the house.
Prosecution could have made this case easier . Bad job need retraining
she knew she hit him and thats why she went out to look for him
No, she went to look for him bc he did not come home. It was Jen McCabe who suggested she should go to Fairview and not the Waterfall bar. Doesn't that strike you as strange?
Has his DNA been found under her car? It should be there if Karen did this
Nope.
A an expert hired by the feds said with certainly that her car did not hit him. Period.
NOPE
She didn’t
Not if he was bending over at the time she backed into him and he hit his head on the pavement as he fell backwards knocking him out. You don't have to be ran over to be knocked unconscious from a car hitting you.
pretty obvious
SHES SO GUILTY 😮
Framed lmao

Karen Read is innocent🌷🌷
Karen Read is guilty as hell. But this prosecutor is so bad that she’s going to be set free. 🤦♀️
Nobody else wanted the case
