One thing is for sure, we have enjoyed this channel so much it has been influential in our choice of holidays that we are coming to Thailand in the new year for the first time. The are a few TH-camrs who cover Pattaya but Trevors channel gives you more insight & knowledge into important subjects than knowing what street the ladyboys are hanging out ( not literally xx ). As much as we all think we are street smart we need to take notice of every tip or heads up we can get when visiting a country for the first time.
My advice I would give to someone who’s never been there before would be - be prepared to be addicted to the place! When you get home you’ll soon realise how boring home is and you’ll want to go out again ASAP! You’ll even consider selling your house and all its belongings to go and live there! Just be warned!!! 👀
I've been to Pattaya, and while it's a fun place for a few days, I couldn't imagine getting hooked on the place. Certainly not to the point of living there full time. To each there own I guess.
I've probably racked up about 20 trips over 15 years my "rules" 1. 200B per day scam allowance 3. you are a guest of the kingdom, don't be a larger lout and don't cause a "situation" 3. don't fall in love, LOL. 4. organize your taxi before you touch down, don't just get one from the airport 5. weigh your bags if your baggage allowance is small before you get to the airport 6. don't ride bikes here if you don't ride them at home 7. when walking down the street remember you share it with bikes etc and remember you are always 1 meter away from death, so don't trip. if you see something interesting stop and look, don't look away, and keep walking.. in single file 8. treat the motor cy guys with respect, i.e say hello and be polite when you walk around them parked up on a corner etc. 9. bring cash and exchange it here, obviously be careful with the storage of it and your passport 10, when going out only take a cash amount that you can afford to lose. 11. don't get blind drunk, you're a long way from home and no one here can help you. 12 when you're out and staying on 1 bar pay your bin every hour or so don't leave it to the end there are probably others but that's a start
#7 point is right on....also when crossing the street i look left, right at least two times....coming from the US where we drive on the right it always takes me a day or two to get that drilled into my brain...and between thai & especially foreign drivers in a death race there
Always, if you possibly can, "pay as you go" ! That avoids almost all over billing or overcharging situations ! And if you should be overcharged, it will only be on one transaction and you're not out that much. Then you can be on your way, avoid a butt load of trouble and minimize your loss ! A couple of bucks is not worth the kind of trouble you can have if the bouncers or the police get involved. And remember, Like Trevor said many times before, Thai's never fight one on one !
All you need to do is look at your bill each time you buy a drink. Having the waitress go to the cashier every time you buy a drink will annoy the waitress then you can’t take advantage of any perks she can help with. Paying as you shows you’re a cherry boy. It’s a rookie move
went to a bar in soi cowboy that i frequented many times during the years, the manager and many of the staff knows me, they salted my bill one time and i never went back, the staff asked me why i didnt came in when i passed it and i just replyed that i dont go to places that do this shit, they tryed to get me back but there are plenty of other bars, their lost
This is why I never pick up a girl in the bars. It's just too much hassle. I usually get a massage girls Line ID and arrange a meet back at the hotel later in the evening. I'd also never dream of hiring out a jet ski.
Hi Trev, as always very good advice for newbe's, I have never been hit up by the bin padding thing personally but a friend who had only ever gone to Phuket came along with me to Patts at the time I thought he was full bottle with the Thailand thing, but as it turns out he wasn't and in one night he filled a Bt30k bin by ringing the bell like a mad man, not realising that this bar also included all staff in the building, whether on duty or not as most of the staff lived there, the cleaner even got roused from their room, so from the 6 odd BG's + cashier and mammasan that were on duty then became close to 30 LD's, but after the 1st bell ring he never even checked his beer bin then and rung it a few more times, guess who had to pay it, me. Also the Jet-Ski latest trick is to paint over the scratches with water based paint, so it washes off during your hire, so your photo's are useless to prove that you didn't do it. But this is purely hearsay.
Great advice as usual Trevor keep up the good work and spread the news, scammers are worldwide and they have lots of time on their hands to think up new angles to relieve you of your hard earned cash.
I once Heard about a group of English paratroopers who we're holidaying together in Pattaya. One of them got suckered into the jet ski scam and became another víctim and was extorted for beaucoup bucks. He toldo his mates about and they planned their Revenge together. That same day, one of the group rented a jet ski from the same group of bandita who'd cheated their mate the previous day. Anyway, he ended up riding the jet ski as far as he could ride in the direction of Bangkok and until the gasoline ran dry. He left the jet ski bobbing up and down in the océano. He swam ashore and took a taxi to Bangkok where he met up with his mates the following day.
Hi Trev, well thought It worth mentioning something that’s happened to me a few times, taking a girl/lady out of a go go let’s say, no matter mid or late evening first you go for a few drinks, of course your new friend will want to eat, you can notice she is not as bubbly now, a yawn now and then, it’s time to retire, you get back to your room a shower is in order, she insists she goes first she will take for ever, when done your turn, after making sure nothing is left available of course! You shower when your done in quicker time of course you notice straight away she’s asleep or making out she is, she will not stir trust me, you are forgiven thinking she’s there to give you a night of extreme pleasure she is not, the least she can do the better for her remember that, IF she does stir you will have gone off the boil, your desire dampened, if you have agreed long time don’t be surprised to hear her showering at 6 am and then of course she has to go to do the laundry, or go see her friend to,collect money she is owed, of course when she is dressed she will be all over you like a coat of paint, why! time to get paid of course the sweeter she is the more she hopes you will give her,,,, it’s BUSINESS
Yes it may happen I don,t dispute that. But here's the trick that works about 8 out of 10 times. Just learn a little Thai, get her reasonably drunk only her unless she has a gorgeous friend. And play them against each other, make them laugh and feel relaxed. And for sure let the mamasan or owner know that if you spend a certain amount in the bar this is your offer. I mean I,m no cheap charlie but also I don,t want to be treated like a fool. You can usually work out something together. Otherwise just dis the place tell the owner you,ll never go back and you'll let all your mates and anyone else that wants to listen know it's a waste of time going in. And really mate I,ve probably only taken a go go lady on no more then 10 or 15 times in 26 years or more. The ladies from the normal bars or freelancers in them are much better value and half the time as beautiful if not more so. Seeya.
Ye Tony I've fallen many times for the same Bs in Angeles city phil.( funny/kinky as hell until the girl gets outside the bar. Then it's the Mary Poppins act)
As someone who has been to Pattaya many times, these are all good advice. I could rack up a few more though. One is, don't bring more cash with you per day/night than you can afford to lose. You go shopping or sightseeing during the day, bring with you 4-6k Bath (or whatever you find appropriate). Evening when you go out, maybe the same. Whatever you do if you happen to get into a bad situation, never make a scene, ever. Just cut your losses and learn from said situation. I know it's mentioned in the video and I just wanted to stress it again. Don't do any other recreational drugs than tobacco or alcohol in Thailand. If you get caught with something else you might run the risk of never coming home again. Pattaya is great. You just have to take the place for what it is. I've met so many great people there, both locals and tourists and have had so much fun.
I lived in Pattaya for about 14 years, learned real quick to stay off the motorbike taxis, drunk or sober. Lots of good advice here, listen to him and heed his advice.
@@brianmck7363 you can do that, but I would strongly advise against it because you probably don't have a Thai license and might not be accustomed to how the traffic works as well as the possibility of a serious or fatal accident when you've been drinking.
@@ExpatriatePaul I’m pretty sure you can get a temporary license if you have a valid American license and I would never drive while drinking! The reason I wanted to know that is because I’m serious thinking off going they for as long as they let me stay!! Can I get a visa for a year or two?????
Hi Trev You mentioned previously that the police station lists road traffic offence fines. My gf rang me to stay she was stopped by the police with no licence and wrong way up a one way street. She spoke English and the fine increased.
Great advice, what I will say is that if you buy a girl a drink to sit with you, and she walks away after 10 minutes, just let her go, no point in challenging why she left, not worth the possible hassle
a few years back getting caught with my ecig 1 month after it was made illegal and i didnt know, right outside the police station on beach road, offered me a 100,000 baht fine and 2 days in jail, my gf who knew a top cop actually threatened all the cops in the station after making a phone call to the top cop, they reduced it to 5k and gave me my ecig back, corrupt to the core , but so glad my gf was there.
1st, dont let the waitress take your empty glasses off the table, just put them in the center and make shapes or spirals out of them, when the bill comes you just count your glasses & compare.
Just been, too seedy and dirty for me, so many desperate, lonely people, I paid for every drink up front. One girl I bought a drink for said her friend needed a drink so I took hers off her! Always be switched on and don’t get scammed! In fact don’t go if you are, it won’t end well, I’m happily still a Thai virgin 😀😀
Another great video. I remember back to my hotel when I passed a few Thai men started taking Mickey out of me. I did not react, I knew if they use my ego it would not be very good for me and did not want to end up one of those TH-cam videos with stuffing kicked out me.
I’ve offered a drink to a lady, and then the bartender automatically gave a drink to everyone at the bar on my tab without even asking me. Some of the beer bar managers are pretty shady…
@@Buzzinpattaya Would it work to pay with a card and then report a fraudulent transaction to the bank? Maybe not a foolproof solution but better than starting a massive drama or going to the tourist police?
Coming to jomtien beach 30 Dec for 15 nights for the first time looking forward to chilling out on the beach for 2 weeks Am staying at the happy Vikings hotel top end of jomtien Thanks for your words of wisdom and knowledge it keeps us all safe 😊
I have been regularly to Thailand for 19 years, married 18 years to a Thai woman: and there were still some valuable information here, eg with the clean notes or complaints to mama san if a bar girl leaves dancing after I ordered a drink.
I was almost scammed by a guy claiming to be deaf and dumb in pattaya my first time there. He had a booklet and was asking me to sign it and make a donation. He opened it and I seen a bunch of names and the amounts they donated. Most were above 2000, I thought well I’ll sponsor him but I’ll give him 500 Baht. So I signed my name and I was giving him the 500 baht and then he showed me a card saying “minimum donation 2,000 baht” I told him to f**k off, I didn’t even give him the 500 baht. Cheeky lol.
I got the same from pattaya children's home ,fancy ID and badges only gave her 200 bart as the woman moves off another guy moves in for his bash and I told him F..O..
I'm looking forward to coming back to Pattaya for the first time in 32 years In January. Thank you so much for your videos, they are all so informative, you are giving so. much good advice 👍
I love Thailand but it really can be exhausting navigating the minefield of scammers and people trying to rinse you. I ended up in tears last time I was there because it was so overwhelming.
Sorry that this happened to you and I hope the next time you come back things will be a lot better please don't write the country of just because of the your first experience
Good tip on the Baht bills. I wasn't aware of that. Conversely the Thai money exchange places will not accept older $100 USA bills. I found that out a few trips ago. Always bring the latest currency of your respective country for exchange.
Keep an eye on your drinks. Especially if you’re hanging out with ‘new friends’. I’ve heard several times that guys/girls look out for drunk or generous people. Then you wake up in your bed the next morning with no money and no idea how you got back to your hotel room.
Also, not just Thai money, before you leave your own country make sure that YOUR CURRENCY does not have any writing or tears also! The Banks & Bureau's will not take them!
Spot on as usual. Adding in.: I think paying for each drink is very impractical for obvious reasons if you are not about to leave after your drink. For you, for the staff if the Agogo for example is very busy. Plus if you like smiles and attention you won't always get that especially if it is a sellers market in the Agogo. If u go to an Agogo just buy her one drink if you are eying her but don't buy one for anyone that comes begging for one... Some girls come to you if they are desperate and ask for drinks, those girls are usually easy to get rid of. Just say no...It is an important skill to learn in all walks and parts of life, not only in Thailand but especially in Thailand. Just do it in a way so she does not loose face.
Wow I've been to Phuket 6 times now and I didn't know that about the money, thanks for the tip Trev. The Jet skis are good fun but its like hiring a bike go over it first take pictures make sure there is no damage and if there is take a photo with the person giving you a thumbs up in the background so he knows it was there befoul you rented it. Thanks for the great advices Trev. Stay safe and Merry Christmas
Great stuff! I am very well versed with South and Central America…and thought I knew it all but have to say you brought a few angles for me. I appreciate that! I am planning a junket for the first time! Also, your fun and easy to listen to! gave you a sub! ✌️
Just recently subscribed because I'm learning so much from you. Thank you. I've been coming out there for 10 years and I thought I was pretty much clued up but you're STILL enlightening me on certain situations. Great work 👍
Had bill padding done to me in the Poker bar beach rd, I had even bought the girl 2 drinks I new how much my bill should have been but it came back about 600bt more than it should have been with extra bills in , I spoke to the mama san but she did'nt want to know, they all had guilty faces on them bunch of thieves the lot of them in there, will never go there to drink again and I've told everbody I meet about the bar.
Yup, I want in pristine condition. I tried to exchange a $100 but It had a little rip on the side... She said no can do. I told her in America they still take it even though it look dirty and rip
I've found it varies as to whether lady must dance or not. Either they can sit with you as long as they have a drink, or they must dance for a song or two before returning to sit with you, or they must dance a full set. For this last one, I try to have two ladies that dance at different times, so I always have someone sitting with me (not always successful as the best looking tend to dance at the same time). Also note, if you pay barfine, a lady can change clothes and still stay in bar and receive lady drinks, but won't have to dance. I'll do this sometimes if the place is rocking or it's early in the evening, or just to help her out with a few extra drinks for her to get paid for. Don't mind buying friend or mamasan a drink if lady asks me to. Have found this very helpful in future visits. Something you didn't mention and I find to happen more in Bangkok than Pattaya, lady orders two drinks. I don't mind, but obviously I'm not buying any more than I would if they ordered one at a time. Also, best to get lady to order regular drink, not shot, as it last longer and you don't have to buy another to keep her sitting. Most of my regular places, the staff knows to show me the printout before putting in the bin. I never had a problem with too many drinks listed, but have found they credited the wrong lady for the lady drink. People should also be aware that the price of a lady drink can vary in the same place depending on status of lady (mamasan, model, etc.). I knew foreign money with markings was a no-no, but never notice the same with Thai money - will keep an eye on that in the future.
the biggest and the most expensive scam is caused on yourself by yourself. that's is when a young lady half your age and half your weight says she loves you. AND YOU BELIEVE HER and you believe it yourself. all of a sudden 5000 miles travel and 1 air ticket I have become a handsome man LOL
I've been to Thailand 5 times now (and not had any bad experiences really) & I still learnt from this video. eg never knew about 'damaged bank notes'. Great advice (again), from Trevor.. If I make it over to Pattaya again I will definitely seek out the Buzzin Lounge/ Bar :)
Hello Buzzin, I am thinking of spending my 40th in Pattaya. What are the best Ladyboy bars to visit? Do all of those bars have bar fines/rooms for short time? Also are there any reputable Russian bars that have no scams? Thanks much, Jed
Having a bin in a bar you have never been in is a mistake. PAYG avoids any of these issues BTW when I was there in 1985 there was a tourist police, supposedly to assist tourists in dealing with issues, the likes of the rip off jet ski issues etc, are they gone?
Great video Trevor, I think it’s all about not getting caught up in all the excitement of Pattaya and just using common sense and being respectful but also careful
To add on taxis, at least in Phuket, they'll give you a price (crazy high) and once you arrive, they'll claim they can't make any change and expect a huge tip.
Wow! I have have been learning and studying much about thailand for the last 6 months and this video has hit some new points in almost every area!! I am very greatfull for you Mr.buzzing Pattaya! Thankyou! 😊 and see you in January thailand!
Good advice mate. Also, if buying a LD and she wants "tequila and Coke", say to her "1 drink only" otherwise she'll come back with 2 drinks - a tequila shot and a Coke. Unless you don't mind buying her 2 drinks at once of course! And don't buy those baskets of ping pong balls (probably more so in BKK). It's money down the drain....believe me! I'd be living like Joe Ferrari if not for those damn things...
Great advice. I always "pay as I go" to avoid any potential problems and conflicts. I also do the same thing with the "lady drinks." Just smart advice I think.
Normally I found is that the quiet gals sitting on the back of the bar, on their own, are normally the new ones, mainly freelancers who do not know yet the score, and getting accustomed to it, the loud smiley lasses sitting and standing near the doors or on the front bars are the ones to be aware off the most, as they know the score. But I prefer the older lasses myself, more mature, and ye they have been there done it got the t-shirt etc. Stay safe, enjoy, love em all and be happy..
VERY good advice!! There are dozens and dozens more but may I mention?… Newbies…NEVER think you’re smart and take video in a Go Go bar. In fact, even in a quiet venue village bar without entertainment ASK first (if you have to video)? Best still, leave your videos to the beach with your new friends and in a public environment. Always ask, be polite and if refused, apologise for being pushy. Humility carries respect.
You need to also point out ; that if you are injured while operating a hire motor bike , and you don’t have a motor bike license in you home country, then your accident insurance is null and void, Peter,
Good advice here. I have experienced all of the items discussed apart from the jetski which I never worried about as I was well aware of the potential scam & have owned 2 ski's in the past (ex ferang wife has my last one) Have fun (hard not to really) but keep your manners & your wits about you. Cheers
I am streetwise in my country and I went alone again to Pattaya.. I met a girl for some days and the last night she wanted to go were also her friend was in a club. We went there and I would buy them a first round so I ordered a drink for myself but before I could ask them.. a lady of the bar already walked to us with a bottle, cola and ice good for 1750 bhat (not crazy much). I think they did not order the most expensive bottle so nothing negative about these sweethearts and no problem I can handle the bill and I was still happy, but think about this when a girl wants to meet her friends in a club okey my amigos. Oh and another stupid thing is that a girl will ask you to buy the manager of the club a drink, in lots of cases this manager is a female. I dont do this because I say that she can take a drink herself, she is the f'n manager so they did not get me tricked with this thing.
Heey my friend!! Man, i am now in Bangkok and I feel so sad it is so different here than Pattaya. Pattaya is my pearl and I will come back ASAP! Thank you for your quick respond bless you mate you got my sub!
Great advice as always Trev. Bill padding - stick with pay as you go . If they say anything just say it makes you feel more comfortable to do so, they won't mind.. If you do get scammed for a lady drink or 2 , you spent a fortune to go there don't let $10 or so destroy your holiday . Hotels only book 2 or 3 nights on arrival so if there is a issue your only there for a few nights out of your 3 or 4 week stay. Besides Christmas New year there will always be many options. Alot of guesthouses are better than hotels and offer a wonderful cultural experience for a cheap price. Cheap guesthouses DONT mean poor accomodation!. They may not have a pool but you can use pools at many resorts and hotels for a small price.. a extra 100-200baht per day is cheaper than a extra $30 or $40 per day plus for a hotel with a pool. Always check reviews on booking sites or trip advisor. Check your reviews in your holiday period as reviews between high season and low season tend to be very different. Don't do drugs . How many times have I heard the line ,oh my mate went over there, ONE TIME! To a full moon party and scored , the cops didn't even care. Rubbish, your mate is just trying to talk up his holiday.. yes drugs are plentiful and you will get set up and find yourself in a bad situation. If you cannot party without the gear than don't go to Thailand ! Oh and wrapping a pill or some weed inside coffee to hide the sent from the sniffer dogs is from Beverly Hills cop. That movie was done back in 84 . Technology has improved and Thailand ain't no 3rd world country, it won't work ! For those who think your a player and can scam a Thai, your not and you will be left to look foolish , do don't be a tool .
My 30 years of Thailand experience says there are some DOWNSIDES to pay as you go. It's a time-waster for all. Not tipping earns you a cold shoulder. It further signals your lack of trust. It also signals that you're leaving which in turn makes the girls less interested. Better to have your wits about you, openly count/examine the bill every time you get new order (this will deter bill-padding). Don't be paranoid, just be smart. You will have a better time.
Nice one Trev... I"ve been to Pattaya what seems like a million times... but... it's always good to be reminded of these things... so easy to slip one's mind... and the world of pain that exists out there is just too awful to contemplate! Makes one think... how much is a good amount to ... err.... contribute... to the local constabulary... if one were to .... err.... find oneself in an awkward situation?!
Don't believe this guy.Thailand is a wonderful place.Like visits to other country just have a bit of common sense.Just stay out of the girlie bars and you will be OK.
great advice on getting a motor bike taxi when one is drunk. many thx. one drug stooge hangs around Maccas on beach road. I saw it in 2019 while having a burger one night. Crazy to try drugs in Thailand.
That’s about 90% true most of the time mate…..I’ve taken girls from their bar to another bar to avoid lady drinks but I’ve still paid for lady drinks……Doesnt happen very often but it does happen….When you have paid your bin watch the girl like a hawk to see if she recieves a backhander from bar staff…
Good advice mate 👍 I read some stuff on internet before I went to Thailand the first time and some of these were mentioned apart from going on bike taxis when drunk, yeah next time I'll stick to the bolt car taxis 👍
That was an old scam that the local government clamped down on, even Thais realised that in the long run they lost out. Have a chat and a beer with the young lads around jomtien opposite soi 11, I use them everytime and they parachute thingy. Ask them before if they mafia😂 good lads. Again remember, 1 bad apple an all that. One person's bad experience doesn't mean it's the norm. Remember, there good and bad everyplace in the world, there's also a lot of bad tourists too
@@Buzzinpattaya I'm mainly talking about the shorts you were wearing before you enter the shower.Where I keep my phone and wallet.A Turkish man got robbed heavily last week this way.
Yeah and do all the prep work before going out. Secure anything of importance including paperwork phones laptop keys you name it. Don't leave open drinks or water bottles laying around. Most will not want to shower with you unless they invite you. They may even lock the bathroom door if it has a lock LOL. They will make a lot of disturbing noise before and afterwards in "preparation". Don't take it personally.
Good advice Trevor, as always! I did not know that they were so picky about their Baht notes. I will check them more carefully on my next visit to Pattaya. It does seems that things are improving regarding the nightlife in Pattaya. I am not sure when i will be able to come down to Pattaya. But when i do i will enjoy a cold one at the Buzzin Bar, or several:) Until your next livestream, Kindly Regards, Reine.
@@Buzzinpattaya I’m to tight to do that anyway 😂 I’m back Boxing Day might have a day in Pattaya before I go to korat can I get a bus from Pattaya to korat ?
My bill was heavily padded in a bar in patpong in 1987. It wasn't drinks it was a 2000B charge for just being in there and watching the girls dancing on the stage. That was a lot of money back then. I'd been living and working in Bangkok for a few months and I'd heard of this scam so we just sat there non-confrontational and told them to call the tourist police. The 2 heavies on the door let us out without paying the extra charge.
I always take English cash out with me drawn from my local branch ATM machine. I can remember taking it to the kiosk opposite my hotel to find, to my horror, the amount rejected because of small tears, tick marks and numbers. Luckily I survived using my card and using ATM machines at great cost. Although now we have the new plastic money its not a problem anymore. Secondly, when we were transitioning between paper £10 notes to plastic the Thai banks put a block on paper notes and declared them illegal so again I was wiped out - lots of lessons learned. Remember although the paper £20 are still valid in UK until Sept 2022 they may not be accepted in Thailand - sorry about the diatribe
Only had a few notes rejected on my first trip. Lesson learned. From then on it was down to the bank for my money. Usually, money at the banks is in good condition. Even so, I check the notes and ask if any I think might be iffy to be replaced. You are correct about the £20 notes. I can see them being rejected long before Sept 22.
Excellent video. I’d say absolutely do not throw a tantrum in a bar. If your getting scammed just pay it and leave. Never go back. The dude is absolutely right with his advice. Do not, ever, think because your hard in England your hard in Thailand. Your not.
Is there a link to discort? Sorry if ive missed it. Me and the wife are going to bangkok and may visit pattaya has we have bookes the hotel that looks like a ship. Hope there is lots of fun for couples
seen that jet ski pulled a time or 3 laying on the beach.... and theres always a cop there.... the padding the bin, its been tried a few times... I just paid, once next morning I went back told the Masan what happened and that I would not be back... then 2 weeks l8r was playing pool in a bar and the manager of the place was playing too, recognised me and handed me 3k baht back lol score lol but yeah like you say not worth the hassle generally. I do love a good haggle though with the taxi guys at the end of the night lol 400 baht becomes 120 lol tip top video btw lots of good advice in it.

my "rules"
1. 200B per day scam allowance
3. you are a guest of the kingdom, don't be a larger lout and don't cause a "situation"
3. don't fall in love, LOL.
4. organize your taxi before you touch down, don't just get one from the airport
5. weigh your bags if your baggage allowance is small before you get to the airport
6. don't ride bikes here if you don't ride them at home
7. when walking down the street remember you share it with bikes etc and remember you are always 1 meter away from death, so don't trip. if you see something interesting stop and look, don't look away, and keep walking.. in single file
8. treat the motor cy guys with respect, i.e say hello and be polite when you walk around them parked up on a corner etc.
9. bring cash and exchange it here, obviously be careful with the storage of it and your passport
10, when going out only take a cash amount that you can afford to lose.
11. don't get blind drunk, you're a long way from home and no one here can help you.
12 when you're out and staying on 1 bar pay your bin every hour or so don't leave it to the end
there are probably others but that's a start

Agreed
All you need to do is look at your bill each time you buy a drink. Having the waitress go to the cashier every time you buy a drink will annoy the waitress then you can’t take advantage of any perks she can help with. Paying as you shows you’re a cherry boy. It’s a rookie move
I always count the checks every time i order a beer to make sure they didn’t sneak one in…
But tips add up. I dont see anything wrong with running a bin.

I've never been to Thailand, but I still love this channel. Your delivery is always really personable and engaging, well done mate.
Wow, thank you!
went to a bar in soi cowboy that i frequented many times during the years, the manager and many of the staff knows me, they salted my bill one time and i never went back, the staff asked me why i didnt came in when i passed it and i just replyed that i dont go to places that do this shit, they tryed to get me back but there are plenty of other bars, their lost
Thank you for sharing your experience
This is why I never pick up a girl in the bars. It's just too much hassle. I usually get a massage girls Line ID and arrange a meet back at the hotel later in the evening.
I'd also never dream of hiring out a jet ski.
Fair one
Thanks for sharing
Great advice as usual Trevor keep up the good work and spread the news, scammers are worldwide and they have lots of time on their hands to think up new angles to relieve you of your hard earned cash.
Thanks
Now that's payback lol
@Guy Nelson lol nice!
How's that payback when they have your cc on file? 😅
@Tony, I think I know her
Great comment and thank you so much for sharing spot on
Yes it may happen I don,t dispute that.
You go shopping or sightseeing
during the day, bring with you 4-6k Bath (or whatever you find appropriate). Evening when you go out, maybe the same.
Whatever you do if you happen to get into a bad situation, never make a scene, ever. Just cut your losses and learn
from said situation. I know it's mentioned in the video and I just wanted to stress it again.
Don't do any other recreational drugs than tobacco or alcohol in Thailand. If you get caught with something else
you might run the risk of never coming home again.
Pattaya is great. You just have to take the place for what it is. I've met so many great people there, both locals and
tourists and have had so much fun.
Thank you for sharing much appreciated
I lived in Pattaya for about 14 years, learned real quick to stay off the motorbike taxis, drunk or sober. Lots of good advice here, listen to him and heed his advice.

Hi Trev
You mentioned previously that the police station lists road traffic offence fines. My gf rang me to stay she was stopped by the police with no licence and wrong way up a one way street. She spoke English and the fine increased.
Ouch
Great advice, what I will say is that if you buy a girl a drink to sit with you, and she walks away after 10 minutes, just let her go, no point in challenging why she left, not worth the possible hassle

1st, dont let the waitress take your empty glasses off the table, just put them in the center and make shapes or spirals out of them, when the bill comes you just count your glasses & compare.
Okay

I was almost scammed by a guy claiming to be deaf and dumb in pattaya my first time there. He had a booklet and was asking me to sign it and make a donation. He opened it and I seen a bunch of names and the amounts they donated. Most were above 2000, I thought well I’ll sponsor him but I’ll give him 500 Baht. Keep an eye on your drinks. Especially if you’re hanging out with ‘new friends’. I’ve heard several times that guys/girls look out for drunk or generous people. Then you wake up in your bed the next morning with no money and no idea how you got back to your hotel room.

Only bring out enough money your prepared to spend that night and dont get too wasted.

Both as you said mate, happens a lot

Remember, there good and bad everyplace in the world, there's also a lot of bad tourists too
Trev is absolutely right. Those people are scammers.
Do not take a shower alone when you bring a new friend back to your room.Make sure you shower together so you don't get robbed.
or lock ya valuables away
Or use the safe… if you don’t have a safe, don’t be such a Kheenio and get a room that does! 😂
@@OR0Z that's the world we live in these days the thief gets away and the good guy gets demonized for being robbed!
May I ask where is the best place to go for money exchange once you immediately arrive in Thailand?
TT Exchange in Pattaya or the place downstairs in the airport
Just like the old saying you pay to learn??? And you will learn the hard way enjoy yourself but be very careful if you snooze you lose
Love that saying
Good advice Trevor, as always! I did not know that they were so picky about their Baht notes. I will check them more carefully on my next visit to Pattaya. It does seems that things are improving regarding the nightlife in Pattaya. I am not sure when i will be able to come down to Pattaya. But when i do i will enjoy a cold one at the Buzzin Bar, or several:)
Until your next livestream, Kindly Regards, Reine.
Some places can be very very difficult to deal with
Good advice. Thanks Trev.
Thanks mate
Why on Earth would you want to buy drinks for someone who don’t want to sit with you are people that desperate?
Many Westerners find it hard or impossible to say "No!".
Trust me it happens
@@Buzzinpattaya what a waste of money 😂
@@Buzzinpattaya I’m to tight to do that anyway 😂 I’m back Boxing Day might have a day in Pattaya before I go to korat can I get a bus from Pattaya to korat ?
Apparently so, that's how Pattaya, Patpong, Soi Cowboy, Patong, all got to be thriving tourist venues.
Wow that's crazy mate
that thing about jetski scams has put me off ever having a go on one
Maybe not the worst thing to happen
Thank you for sharing
Really good first class advice in this video Trev Thanks
Cheers mate
Excellent video. I’d say absolutely do not throw a tantrum in a bar. If your getting scammed just pay it and leave. Never go back. The dude is absolutely right with his advice. Do not, ever, think because your hard in England your hard in Thailand. Your not.

Arrived on the 10th 'got stroked at bkk airport 'thought I paid for private AQ taxi to AQ hotel 'but it was a mini bus and it was rammed. Tut tut.

seen that jet ski pulled a time or 3 laying on the beach.... and theres always a cop there.... the padding the bin, its been tried a few times...
