Brilliant vlog once again, Trev. Lots of good advice and you certainly have the gift of the gab. Of the three dangers, I think I can avoid the first two. I have lots of interests I can pursue. Over Christmas I got into the habit of a few too many drinks-actually only a beer or two per day-but I haven’t touched alcohol for a week. Girls may be more of a temptation. As a 70 year old, I have no illusions that a chick will be after anything other than money, so will have to keep my wits about me. I think the most important thing is to find company and make friends with similar interests. Your pub crawls sound fun, but I probably would not last long. But I am sure there are guys who want to socialize over coffee, bike rides, sports, etc. Anyhow, looking forward to visiting your bar (hope you sell coffee or soft drinks as well). Keep the vlogs coming!
I know exactly what you mean by drinking 🍸 ! I lived overseas in the Philippines, Japan, and Guam. After 9 years of heavy drinking, Asain culture. I returned to the USA a total alcoholic ! Now, after 11 years of Sobriety, I'm returning to Thailand for a month. I'm going for nightlife without the drinking. So I'm glad you mentioned AA Meeting being held there. That's where I will be for sure. Thanks for the great video !!!
I first visited Pattaya in 1991 (and many times since). This video is just about the most accurate description of Pattaya I've seen on here. Spot on Trev. I would add that the radar is not confined to the Girls, if the boys are your thing the radar is every bit as active, AND, the Intelligence gathering and sharing crosses the sexes. I've not been for a year or two due to health problems (pre Covid) but Pattaya is unrecogniseable from what it was in the 90's, with the exception of the bars and street business. If anything the nightlife looks to be more in your face/aggressive. The way I got around the boredom was, I was able to do a few hours work each day, not only did it keep the coin coming in, it added structure to the day which is essential to avoid the pitfalls. I recall seeing the regular heavy drinkers even back then and remember one guy attempting to have his fry-up breakfast while drinking at least 6 beers, he was totally oblivious to the fact that his lady companion was 'feeding' everyone around out of his wallet. He didn't have a clue how much money was escaping from that wallet. A very sorry state he was in, and not alone. It's a great fun place but if you're not capable of keeping a structured lifestyle, maybe think twice. Thanks for another great video, maybe I'll get out there again soon.
Thank you mate and yes I loved your coming too it's exactly what I'm talking about. You do need structure out here otherwise you can wander off the beaten path very easily. I hope you get out here soon.
Thanks for the good advice! I have struggled with drinking most of my life but these are really good tips to get out of that funk and enjoy the trip a lot more. Thank you!
The toughest part of my two weeks in Pattaya was actually waking up early in the morning for my private Muay Thai lessons. Not because I was hungover as I can control my drinking but because I knew that I could be with a girl, drinking by the beach, hanging out with other foreigners etc. Once I was done with my training the beer tasted better because I felt like I earned it, and it made my trip that much better because Pattaya has more than bars, girls and living like a two week millionare it has an amazing Muay Thai and fitness community.
The thing is 99% of those that are retiring there will be 60+, worked hard all their lives and earned the right to sit in a bar all day getting pissed, good luck to them.
If you have issues with impulse control then Thailand, Cambodia or even SE Asia in general can be problematic. Whatever your vice is, you can find it at a price you can afford, at least initially. This makes it a whole lot easier for your vices to take over your life with predictable results.
Good advice, been there done it..... had to get out before I got swallowed up now I miss it... Pattaya grabs your leg and never lets go.... she always pulls you back she has been doing that to me for over 40 years
Your videos are always the voice of reason ...... and good advice. What I want to comment on is that. Wherever you go in the world, always you take yourself with you. Your life will not change miraculously when you come to Thailand. If you do not want to give yourself a opportunity to change
Brother you spoke to me on this one for sure. I am actually in a boredom rut like that NOW. You just motivated me to air up my tires on my bike and get out the freaking door. I was thinking honestly about retiring to Pattaya to combat this troubling trend. But what excellent advice. I hadn’t even considered being in a rut there but I surely could see it happening for some people. GREAT VID! 👍🏻
Thnx Trev, truly a great, useful and funny vlog as always. In the shadow i continue to follow and watch your vlogs. Those infos are and will be truly important for unexperienced ppl like i'am. Let's say that those 3 things can destroy you, in different ways, anywhere you go and stay, so the best you can do, as you say, is keep yourself active, in any possible way, safe way, you can. I have my methods like many others too, and hope they will work out same way when i will be there in Thailand. Thnx again, man ! 😉👍
Once again. Great clip. Hopefully when I get there later in year. You'll be providing lots of things to do. In the form of days out And pub crawls etc.
Gym in the morning Swim in the afternoon Walk the beach at night It’s essential you get a routine The older I get the less I like drinking and keeping company of bar girls
Trevor, I'm an older guy.. over a four year period I spent total of 2.5 years in Thailand... Had a ball.. Lucky not a reg drinker but can binge it.. I rarely would drink during the day and tried to do the gym and hotel pool most days... I loved the routine and going out to beer bars... I built a bar in Patong and ran it for about 6 months... What an eye opener to the girl culture from an inside perspective... So you are very very right, don't drink during the week, exercise in any form and be careful around the girls, they can wrap you up, most long term bargirls charming liars with a few sponser, NOT JUST YOU! If you get a long term girl that you live with, they are pretty good alround...remember you can be an alcoholic in any country, best stay home...
Great public service mate. All true. For the Thai network. Back in the 1970's we used to say there are three forms of communication in Thailand. Telephone, Telegraph and Tell a Thai. Cheers always enjoy the videos.
Good advice Trev…have lived in Indo and Malaysia for 10 years…and have had all the ups n downs with all the Beez..Boredom,Booze Broads…cheers n beerz Daz
Cheers Trev great advice. Still considering retirement in pattaya when things get a bit more sorted . I can imagine boredom being a worry. But expats are friendly enough . Always someone to talk to.
Great advice. I live here and only drink when I go out, which is only 1-2 times a week. Found out I like the gym. I go daily, it makes everything better and the scenery is nice!
Looks like you turned on a bit of the philosopher stone my friend. Seem like all good points to be aware of. You ran the pool table at Camel Toe yesterday, nicely done.
Very wise words Trevor. So easy to fall in to a rut over there. You really have got to be head strong. As you said take up some hobbies and surround your self with positive people. Take care Buddy 😎
My routine became just as you described. I would start drinking first thing in the morning and bar hop all day and all night. I got lucky a few times i didnt even remember going back to my room. Thanks to your channel i found so much more to do besides getting trashed every day and sniffing out the cheapest happy hour and beer sales at bars. Next time i will venture around Thailand.
Yes, part of the problem is starting a morning or midday drinking routine especially in central Pattaya where all the temptations are at your fingertips. Being in that environment at that time will always screw the rest of your day. I had a personal rule where I wouldn’t drink alcohol until after dinner time and only visit the entertainment venues after 9pm. The perfect day was spent exploring historic sites/koh larn/golf etc outside central Pattaya, followed by a Thai restaurant dinner and finally some late fun on soi Bukhao or soi 7. If you are selective with your partying it makes everything far less costly, both in terms of money and your relationships with other people.
Good'aye Trev I came to Pattaya many yrs from ago from Aust love the place . I recall like you were saying during the pandemic started drinking alot! Put on alot of weight but once I got into walking and going to the gym I lost weight about 10 kg and never felt better yes even at home bordem and drink can kill never mind the girls I agree 2 out of the 3 will definitely get you if your not careful .
Really good advise as always..i would say also the main reason someone has a drink at 7am is due to alcohol dependance and not being able to face the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal. If its purely boredom then they got off lightly in my opinion. Keep up the excellent videos.
Great advice not just for pattaya but for life. I'm retired and do have more time to have a beer whenever I want. Motivation has become a major part of wasting time. And I was always so motivated with everything. Thanks mate 👍
Yes! Spot on--get around Thai--it's quite cheap and the people are often much different to the types you may find in Pattaya! Real Thai people! See Thailand as it really is, genuine smiles, ----not the fantasy sleaze zone that is known as Pattaya! *Even the Thai's refer poorly to Pattaya! If asked I tell the truth, I never go there and I don't like the place! Seems to gain some respect? Who really knows? Keep Buzzin.
Just retired and no working since more than 4 years all I did was staying in my 2 rooms, going to the supermarket from Monday to Saturday and chat or play free of charge games on my laptop. I didn't get bored. Sonn moving to Jomtien or Bang Saray, get a motorcycle and do tours around that area again. Drinking has never been an issue since I always coud stop before getting drunk. And I simply can't afford it to drink that much every day. And women? I better sleep alone than engaging with someone who has no regular job and tends to flirt with other "potential" customers. Good tips - but I feel pretty safe. (I was living in Thailand for more than 9 years from 2010 until 2019 already.)
So true. I will never forget the flight returning to boston from las vegas. Everyone looked like they got hit by a truck. The whole plane was exhausted.
Just explored your channel, keep it up! You seem like a good guy! Even I never was in Pattaya, but almost everywhere else in Thailand (we have a house in Isan). But yes, alcohol and boredom, are may the biggest dangers here, especially if you‘re the guy who usually don‘t say no to a drink. And alcohol is a big issue in Thailand. Also with the locals, in the countryside it is not uncommon to have a beer or lao khao in the morning. So yes you deffo need hobbies, sports, travel whatever…. Take care
TRUTH!!!!! I've been into working out most of my life, and I primarily lived in Pattaya for the golf, but going in for golf in the morning I was one of the few, if not the only one not drinking something alcoholic with breakfast, as early as 7 a.m. Additionally, a neighbor of mine, a Kiwi who was an intelligent guy, ignored a lot of adverse health issues he had and ended up dying at the age of 55. Some people think that's no big deal and living everyday as a never ending series of whim indulgences is the way to go, if so up to you, but I didn't survive my life's adversities to go out like that.
Hi Trevor I’ve recently just come back from Pattaya about two weeks ago I had an absolute whale of a time and I can’t wait to go back hopefully around March Your videos are fantastic and very articulate and your advice has been brilliant and really helped me to put more things into perspective about looking after yourself when you’re there Thanks again maybe see you there one day 😁👍
Have a good bank balance. Have a good health insurance policy. Don't lend anyone any money. Don't believe you can own a house and land here. Stay off riding motorcycles. Pay for play and get away. Don't bring any girls back to your residence. There's plenty more to add but then your common sense should take care of that? Keep Buzzin!
Nice one Trev good content as usual. I think I missed the opportunity of going to Pattaya, when I said to my misses, I would like to go for a walk down walking street (like the Chinese flag following tourist), my misses has already told me if I go there and all she did was made the ✂️ motion, I don’t want to be like John Wayne Bobbitt I.e frakendick. I’ve only been to her village and your right, to easy to drink.
As you say, there network is incredible, Nov 19 I was in Pattaya, noticed a Scooter with 2 girls kept taking pictures of me , and later when returning to hotel, kept seeing a girl following me. Next think you know my ex has driven from Sisaket and has gone to hotel and told reception that her husband is staying, they’ve given her my room number and she’s trying to break the dooor down, not an enjoyable situation Great video mate
Hey Trev , Ed Sweeney has just rocked up in your town . . . you two are my favourite TH-cam Thai correspondents . . . a joint chat over a few beers would be incredible
Just back from travel agent. There is no cut off date for Thai pass. My holiday to Pattaya 9th February is still going ahead unless rules change further, 🙏🙏🙏
Scuba diving is a great thing to do in Pattaya if you're bored, it gets you up in the morning which helps keep you out of the bars. It gives you a day of activity out in the sun and you meet loads of new people. There is actually a really large variation of dive sites and the schools can provide you with enough courses to keep you occupied for a few months.
I wake up drinking. And drink until I go to bed. Every day. But when I moved to Florida, something happened down there. Florida has a lot of events. And you can have a lot of fun there. But if you're drinking, you miss a lot. So I started watching my drinking so I could have fun too. But I didn't stop. After a few months, my friend came by and offered me a beer. It was good. But when I woke up the next morning. The beer was still on the kitchen bar with only one sip taken from it. Then I realized I had stopped drinking without knowing it. You opened a door. Maybe I wasn't bored anymore. I had friends to do things with. But when I moved back home , the drinking Came back. People don't want to do anything here. Unless you want to sit around and talk mean things about others. That's depressing. No life.
Thanks for all the great videos. I really appreciate the honest down to earth advice you share with us all. I have a whole new appreciation of what to do and more important, what not to do in Pattaya. Thanks.
I can see how the drinking could become a problem. Every since my wife passed away, a few months ago, I have been having a few glasses of whiskey, every night, to help me sleep. I know I should stop, yet, every night as bedtime draws nearer, I find myself pouring a glass. I still have to go to work every morning, so I haven't let myself get out of control, but I know I easily could If I didn't have to work.
@@Buzzinpattaya Strange, even now I do not know what is the proper response to "sorry for your loss." Anyway, nothing really can be said about it. Your content, along with others on TH-cam, help keep me distracted.
Mate. I was there too. I managed not to drink every day. I reached for it but stopped short each time. I had one huge bender with my best mate a couple weeks after she died. Was utterly legless. I was lucky coz drinking wasnt a 'cultural thing' in my extended family. We didnt drink as a reflex. It was a rarity. Hope youre doing better mate.
This is true. I lived in kanchanaburi for three years. I joined a gym, bought myself a decent bike and taught English in a local school. I kept myself busy plus had about 40000 BAHT coming in per month, plus some savings back home. I noticed many Brits drinking every day in the bars. One bar owner died, chronic alcoholic
I've lost a fair few friends to alcoholism, one actually had a bar in Thailand. I used to drink too much, but not anymore, but I still like a real good drink at times.
Same here my friend. I class myself an alcoholic. But sometimes life gets me down and i turn to drink. I know it is the wrong thing to do. But i still do it. Good luck with your fight.
I sincerely hope those that listen to this really do take onboard the benefits of taking care of yourself can achieve.... when I lived near Buriram I rented a bungalow style property with very rundown overgrown garden, literally spent time everyday getting it sorted and I’ve honestly never felt so fit and a positive mindset ... on relocating to Jomtien area I decided to start walking early mornings 4/5 times a week , again felt really good, appetite good , met lots of people from around the world taking a bit of exercise...just remember having the sunshine 365 and an easy lifestyle is to be appreciated and enjoyed .... brill video Buzz ..
very very true, really nice you said it how it is. I know its so easy to be sucked in. So enjoy your self but keep both heads where they should be and the fun will never stop
In all honesty I have no idea what went wrong the original video is perfectly sync but when I've uploaded to TH-cam it seems to have gone pear shaped sorry
I don't know how anyone can get bored here with all the things to do and the great weather. If you want bored try Doncaster on a cold wet Monday night in January.
Good advice. I’m surprised there wasn’t a 4th….unprotected you know what. Forget the medication side. I’m talking getting stitched up for child support etc.
The secret guys is to keep on the Move dont get stuck in Pattaya I live in Phuket great place for Scuba diving and motor bijking especially the southern provinces and allways girls if you find out where to go.Ive travelled all over South East Asia mainly by road and without a doubt if I want to party Bangkok and the girls their are the best bur neverforget everything costs dosh here which ever way you play the game,I stiill like Pattaya for a few days but thats enough for me.
Another great video Trev, Pattaya is a great place for a few weeks blow out, but very different to live in. I enjoy my holidays there, but know only to well I would fall into all of these traps if I lived there. Good point about the women they have a better intelligence system than the FBI, I was reliability informed by a Thai lady that there are several thai websites where, (joining is by invitation only) Thai ladies can sign up to, and the whole purpose is to share information, so if you have a Thai friendly account and chatting or seeing different ladies, they can post your profile to the site and ask others if they know you or what your MO is and are you lying your head off to win favours 😁😁 As Trev says they can easily find out what you've been up to. The last thing you want is a confrontation with an angry Thai lady, who you have been lying too.
Agree about not wanting that confrontation... If you get yourself into that situation you will find that the 'Lady' will have at least 4 heavies watching her back. You will, if you're lucky end up in hospital. And no-one, including the Police will step in to help. The attitude is "It's your crappy mess, tough sh1t, get yourself out".
You forgot one Trev, if you are in an area off the beaten path you may find that no one around you speaks your language. If you haven't learned Thai and haven't found someone who speaks the language you do it can be very frustrating. Not to mention that humans are social animals. If you can't adapt or can't learn to communicate you can find yourself feeling isolated and alone.
@@Buzzinpattaya let’s not forget the wonder of technology and smart phones. I fondly remember getting on a bus when I was approached by a Korean couple in Thailand who were lost asking me for directions via a translation app to an area I had no idea. Neither of us spoke Thai. They didn’t speak English. I didn’t speak Korean. Yet we connected. For all its faults, technology does have the ability for us to forge a connection, however remote, however distant. Also, you’d be surprised how much youtube Thai language videos help when you put in daily practice. Thank you Trev, happy new year!
Haha! Didn't dawn on me that Pattaya and common sense were such good bedfellows😯I've always thought the place was more about princesses and excesses!?!Thanks for the new perspective, I'll have to mull this one over🤔
Spot on great advice I cycled all the time and I got into too much drinking then I got led to volunteer at the Mercy centre where the children’s home is did all kinds of things kept me busy all day got me away from drinking too much And sadly watched too many friends parents because they got caught in the drinking trap
I have a question to ask if I may. My question is, have you come across many tourists or longer stay visitors who have grown to detest the Pattaya women and the whole scene out there ?
You 're right Trev, surprisingly boredom is a threat in Pattaya. I got into a rut, staying in my room. Feeling there wasn't any point going out. Just more of the same. Everyone pretending to like you, when all they really want is your money. Well, duh? Just like every other tourist destination in the world. Thailand is the best fantasy for tourists and expats in exchange for money. Beats being back home in the rat race spending your money just to survive. I forced myself to go out and try new places. Luckily I found a great gogo club off walking street. I was sitting on a bench with one girl when another walked up. In one quick move (I still don't know she did it) she stood on the bench straddling over me, turned, and suddenly we were cheek to cheek. Hello? It rekindled my will to live and have fun. It became my "go to" place. I had to force myself not to go every night, only every other night. I hope it's still around when I return.
Hey Trevor another great video and good points on thing that could happen in Thailand (Pattaya). Also great advice on the Thailand Communication, the Thai women radar/communication networks. I think its better than any Secret agency in the world, they can find you, you can't hided. So don't think you can play games with Thai women, they will get you. Keep up your great video Trevor.
I set rules when I moved to Thailand 21 years ago… most important was no alcohol before 10 pm. Covid has moved the hour forward but it’s offset by earlier closing. I have seen to many farang go down because of alcohol
Hello from California, USA… yes… I have a sister that lives in Las Vegas, amd sometimes I will take a Harley Davidson trip through the desert amd visit her… we will have a drink amd then because she lives there she will go back to her place, but me, I’m still drinking 2 days later because Vegas never closes. There was a mate of mine that said , l”Where do people that live in Vegas go for holiday… the answer is Thailand!” Lol
100% Agree my friend drinks 12 large Leo every day. He sits in a chair all day. He has now got Alcoholic dementia sad to see. He was a big drinker in his home country so just got more and more into alcohol here.
Hi I’ve been watching your videos for quite a long time I like them a lot sometimes you actually think you’re walking down the street with you keep doing a good job I’m sorry it’s took so long to give you a call mate 👍👍

Take care Buddy 😎
Thank you mate and yes you have to keep yourself occupied otherwise it is a very slippery slope
very informative as always. top vlogger
Thank you so much
My routine became just as you described.
Thank you for sharing
I’m bored but I don’t drink when I’m bored. I just watch endless TH-cam videos.
In fairness that's not bad system
Yes, part of the problem is starting a morning or midday drinking routine especially in central Pattaya where all the temptations are at your fingertips. Being in that environment at that time will always screw the rest of your day. I had a personal rule where I wouldn’t drink alcohol until after dinner time and only visit the entertainment venues after 9pm. The perfect day was spent exploring historic sites/koh larn/golf etc outside central Pattaya, followed by a Thai restaurant dinner and finally some late fun on soi Bukhao or soi 7. If you are selective with your partying it makes everything far less costly, both in terms of money and your relationships with other people.
exactly mate
Good'aye Trev
I came to Pattaya many yrs from ago from Aust love the place .
Yeah you're right mate, cheers
@Buzzinpattaya can't believe it true to your word you actually replied even as busy as you are thank mate your a legend .
Really good advise as always..i would say also the main reason someone has a drink at 7am is due to alcohol dependance and not being able to face the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal.
If its purely boredom then they got off lightly in my opinion.
Keep up the excellent videos.
Exactly mate well said
Great advice not just for pattaya but for life.
I'm retired and do have more time to have a beer whenever I want.
Motivation has become a major part of wasting time.
And I was always so motivated with everything.
Thanks mate 👍
Thank you so much
Going to beer bars and gogo bars get old after a couple weeks. long time holiday is best to roam around the country..
great shout
This is great advice Trevor. You always have to manage your Habits. Have a balanced routine/program and stick to it.
Thanks mate
Wish you all the best
I like the chat with some videos and photos added, great work
Thank you
This is good advice anywhere you are. Boredom, addiction and lose women will fuck you up. Everywhere there are adults it’s an adult playground…..
Gotcha
Mate, you really hit home with me on this! My drinking is getting out of hand here. Feel lost & bored, just like you said.
Stay strong mate and get out and about, find new things to do mate, try things you are interested in as hobbies etc
So true. I will never forget the flight returning to boston from las vegas. Everyone looked like they got hit by a truck. The whole plane was exhausted.
yeah never a nice flight going home
Just explored your channel, keep it up! You seem like a good guy! Even I never was in Pattaya, but almost everywhere else in Thailand (we have a house in Isan). But yes, alcohol and boredom, are may the biggest dangers here, especially if you‘re the guy who usually don‘t say no to a drink. And alcohol is a big issue in Thailand. Also with the locals, in the countryside it is not uncommon to have a beer or lao khao in the morning. So yes you deffo need hobbies, sports, travel whatever…. Take care
Cheers mate
Good talk man. You rock.
Thank you so much
Keep up the good work Trev,
Cheers
Nice one
I like the cut aways to stock footage!
Ps good advice
Thanks mate
Great video as always Trev
Thank you very much
Well done Trev taking on board these subjects people need be aware and you are bang on mate
Thank you mate
I love your channel bro keep up the good work.I appreciate you giving us a heads up so we don’t get our heads chopped off lol.
Thank you very much my friend much appreciated
Hi Trevor I’ve recently just come back from Pattaya about two weeks ago I had an absolute whale of a time and I can’t wait to go back hopefully around March Your videos are fantastic and very articulate and your advice has been brilliant and really helped me to put more things into perspective about looking after yourself when you’re there Thanks again maybe see you there one day 😁👍
Thanks mate appreciate your feedback, thank you and see you soon
Have a good bank balance. Have a good health insurance policy. Don't lend anyone any money. Don't believe you can own a house and land here. Stay off riding motorcycles. Pay for play and get away. Don't bring any girls back to your residence. There's plenty more to add but then your common sense should take care of that? Keep Buzzin!
Seriously good advice
Why stay off motorcycles 🏍 ?
Nice one Trev good content as usual. I think I missed the opportunity of going to Pattaya, when I said to my misses, I would like to go for a walk down walking street (like the Chinese flag following tourist), my misses has already told me if I go there and all she did was made the ✂️ motion, I don’t want to be like John Wayne Bobbitt I.e frakendick. I’ve only been to her village and your right, to easy to drink.
Ouch LOL
As you say, there network is incredible, Nov 19 I was in Pattaya, noticed a Scooter with 2 girls kept taking pictures of me , and later when returning to hotel, kept seeing a girl following me. Next think you know my ex has driven from Sisaket and has gone to hotel and told reception that her husband is staying, they’ve given her my room number and she’s trying to break the dooor down, not an enjoyable situation
Great video mate
Make it scares me how the network really works
Because after 3 years she still wants to come back , plus I have 2 children with her.
BUSTED !!
Hey Trev , Ed Sweeney has just rocked up in your town . . .
you two are my favourite TH-cam Thai correspondents . . .
a joint chat over a few beers would be incredible
If I can bump into him for sure mate I just sadly don't know they guy
Sound advice, & common sense.👌
It amazes me how people lose and ignore common sense in Thailand , as U said it will break you.
as you said mate, happens far too often
Bang on mate. The exact reason why I know I cant live there full-time. Wish I could but i know the reality for a guy like me in a place like Pattaya.
At least you are honest with yourself and will no doubt save yourself a lot of pain and misfortune in the future
Just back from travel agent. There is no cut off date for Thai pass. My holiday to Pattaya 9th February is still going ahead unless rules change further, 🙏🙏🙏
Fantastic mate come and have a great time
I heard was stopping ufn. Hope I be ok for April . Good luck
@@jonhobson3592 I'm OK for February. Got Thailand Pass is ok. With any luck all be OK. I'll go back in October if it's as good as I hope.
Hope to be there myself so enough Great advice obvious to some people but not everybody
I hope you get out here soon mate
Scuba diving is a great thing to do in Pattaya if you're bored, it gets you up in the morning which helps keep you out of the bars. It gives you a day of activity out in the sun and you meet loads of new people. There is actually a really large variation of dive sites and the schools can provide you with enough courses to keep you occupied for a few months.
I got my PADI license in Pattaya. It was a blast!
Thank you for sharing
hi trev it was nice to meet you in your bar at soi chiapoon its a good bar with good music and friendly girls....see you soon mate...MARK
Cheers mate thank you very much
I wake up drinking.
No life.
Thank you for such an honest and interesting comment. Wish you all the best my friend
Good advice as always Trev. Not currently making any plans because of the Pandemic. Hopefully soon. Stay safe out there.
I hope you get out here soon my friend
Not gonna lie, even though I've been trolling these comments a bit, your insight and the advice you give these guys is top notch
Thank you
Thanks for all the great videos. I really appreciate the honest down to earth advice you share with us all. I have a whole new appreciation of what to do and more important, what not to do in Pattaya. Thanks.
All good my friend
I can see how the drinking could become a problem. Every since my wife passed away, a few months ago, I have been having a few glasses of whiskey, every night, to help me sleep. I know I should stop, yet, every night as bedtime draws nearer, I find myself pouring a glass. I still have to go to work every morning, so I haven't let myself get out of control, but I know I easily could If I didn't have to work.
I'm sorry for your loss it must be devastating I don't know what else to say I'm sorry
Spot on mate! Excellent wisdom. thank you!!!
Very welcome
This is true. I lived in kanchanaburi for three years. I joined a gym, bought myself a decent bike and taught English in a local school. I kept myself busy plus had about 40000 BAHT coming in per month, plus some savings back home. I noticed many Brits drinking every day in the bars. One bar owner died, chronic alcoholic
Drinking claims so many out here
You are right about every point, especially the BG's radar. As soon as you walk in, they probably did an accurate analysis of you.
Mate it's unreal
I've lost a fair few friends to alcoholism, one actually had a bar in Thailand. I used to drink too much, but not anymore, but I still like a real good drink at times.
Same here my friend.
I class myself an alcoholic. But sometimes life gets me down and i turn to drink.
I know it is the wrong thing to do.
But i still do it.
Good luck with your fight.
It really is a cruel addiction
@@paulmillward7009 you are not alone !
I hope so as it is a slippery path
They used to have the jungle telegraph way before smart phones. Don’t ask me how but they know everything. It’s so scary but you are spot on mate👍
Mate that radar could teach NASA a thing or two lol
very very true, really nice you said it how it is. I know its so easy to be sucked in. So enjoy your self but keep both heads where they should be and the fun will never stop
Thank you very much
Hi trev
Not synced. But so well clear and understood. MAI PEN RAI.🤷♂️
In all honesty I have no idea what went wrong the original video is perfectly sync but when I've uploaded to TH-cam it seems to have gone pear shaped sorry
Hey trev.right on buddy.good advice for all.newbies & expats.keep it rollin
Thanks 👍
I don't know how anyone can get bored here with all the things to do and the great weather. If you want bored try Doncaster on a cold wet Monday night in January.
When you put it like that I am in no rush to come back LOL
Another great video !! Great advice !
I think the 4th one I would add is ( be strong enough to say No ) great vid. !!
Thanks for sharing!!
Keep the health !!
Great video my man.
Thanks mate, now get over here, we need to party
Extremely good advice and very well explained!👍🏻
Thank you so much
Good advice. I’m surprised there wasn’t a 4th….unprotected you know what. Forget the medication side. I’m talking getting stitched up for child support etc.
Yeah I will do a follow up soon
Spot on Trev…….newbies take note!
Thanks 👍
The secret guys is to keep on the Move dont get stuck in Pattaya I live in Phuket great place for Scuba diving and motor bijking especially the southern provinces and allways girls if you find out where to go.Ive travelled all over South East Asia mainly by road and without a doubt if I want to party Bangkok and the girls their are the best bur neverforget everything costs dosh here which ever way you play the game,I stiill like Pattaya for a few days but thats enough for me.
Good shout
Excellent From Start To Finish. Sure Wish I Could Share Info. Never Ben YET.
Hope ya get here one day mate
Another great video Trev, Pattaya is a great place for a few weeks blow out, but very different to live in. I enjoy my holidays there, but know only to well I would fall into all of these traps if I lived there.
Good point about the women they have a better intelligence system than the FBI, I was reliability informed by a Thai lady that there are several thai websites where, (joining is by invitation only) Thai ladies can sign up to, and the whole purpose is to share information, so if you have a Thai friendly account and chatting or seeing different ladies, they can post your profile to the site and ask others if they know you or what your MO is and are you lying your head off to win favours 😁😁
As Trev says they can easily find out what you've been up to.
Exactly mate well said and thank you
Great advice Trev. I come for a month but am lucky to have a couple of online businesses, so that gives some structure to my days.
Nice one mate
You forgot one Trev, if you are in an area off the beaten path you may find that no one around you speaks your language. If you haven't learned Thai and haven't found someone who speaks the language you do it can be very frustrating. Not to mention that humans are social animals. If you can't adapt or can't learn to communicate you can find yourself feeling isolated and alone.
Agreed mate language barriers often cause many problems especially as you said in remote areas
Probably your most informative vjog good job
Thank you and glad you enjoyed it
Haha! Didn't dawn on me that Pattaya and common sense were such good bedfellows😯I've always thought the place was more about princesses and excesses!?!Thanks for the new perspective, I'll have to mull this one over🤔
lol
Spot on great advice I cycled all the time and I got into too much drinking then I got led to volunteer at the Mercy centre where the children’s home is did all kinds of things kept me busy all day got me away from drinking too much And sadly watched too many friends parents because they got caught in the drinking trap
Wow mate nice one
I have a question to ask if I may. My question is, have you come across many tourists or longer stay visitors who have grown to detest the Pattaya women and the whole scene out there ?
I met loads of guys like this when I was living out there...guys that absolutely hated the Thais !!
Thanks John. I appreciate your honesty. I met a few people out there who felt the same way.
In this city yes 100% I know many people that have lost the love for this place and especially the women that work here
Great advise mate! Thanx for video! I will definitely keep this in mind when I move to Pattaya this Sept!🙏
Welcome and have a great trip
Hope your ok now mate
Hey Trevor another great video and good points on thing that could happen in Thailand (Pattaya). Also great advice on the Thailand Communication, the Thai women radar/communication networks. I think its better than any Secret agency in the world, they can find you, you can't hided. So don't think you can play games with Thai women, they will get you. Keep up your great video Trevor.
Thanks mate much appreciated
I set rules when I moved to Thailand 21 years ago… most important was no alcohol before 10 pm. Covid has moved the hour forward but it’s offset by earlier closing. I have seen to many farang go down because of alcohol
You clearly have it sorted out mate fair play
Trev, thanks for including the clip of Tip 😄
Hahaha very welcome
Hello from California, USA… yes… I have a sister that lives in Las Vegas, amd sometimes I will take a Harley Davidson trip through the desert amd visit her… we will have a drink amd then because she lives there she will go back to her place, but me, I’m still drinking 2 days later because Vegas never closes. There was a mate of mine that said , l”Where do people that live in Vegas go for holiday… the answer is Thailand!” Lol
Hi and welcome
This was spot on. Very therapeutic in nature.
Thank you
The most dangerous thing about moving to Pattaya is the foreigners who are already living there.
You are not wrong there my friend
Same in Philippines
@Anthony Smith there are loads of down on their luck falangs in SE Asia who will befriend you and try to rip you off.
I would definitely believe that!
great concept for a video. hadn't thought about this before. like the cycling idea.
Thank you
100% Agree my friend drinks 12 large Leo every day. He sits in a chair all day. He has now got Alcoholic dementia sad to see.
He was a big drinker in his home country so just got more and more into alcohol here.
That is some serious drinking and I'm sorry that your friend is on a slippery slope downhill
Hi I’ve been watching your videos for quite a long time I like them a lot sometimes you actually think you’re walking down the street with you keep doing a good job I’m sorry it’s took so long to give you a call mate 👍👍
Thank you mate I'm glad you enjoyed the videos
