I've always put the stick of butter in the dish and let it melt in the oven during preheat cycle. If the fruit is fresh and needs sugar, I macerate it in a separate bowl for a while. I mix the cuppa milk, sugar and self-rising flour in a bowl and pour it over the melted butter and spoon the fruit & it's juice over the top. The crust magically rises over the fruit as it bakes. This is my favorite cobbler. I love those crispy edges, too!
That is how I do it too, but I put a bit of cinnamon and vanilla extract in the batter, and I prepare my peaches the same way with sugar, but I add in a teaspoon of orange bitters! Myself and my entire family are from Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota, and us northerners love our peach cobbler too!
I love the “Cup a Cup a Cup” lesson. I cook for homeless crowd of 50 at a time. It will be easy to plan for making big batches with this method. Thank you! And Shine for Jesus!!!
I live in Waynesboro GA and I make my cobbler about the same way. The only difference is that I put the cobbler batter in the pan first and the peaches on top. That way you get more dumplings and less cake texture. I love watching you. It reminds me of mama and grandma cooking.
Meme you make my day! I enjoy your stories and recipes so much!! I'm a widower but you inspire me to go ahead and cook and invite people over!! Thank you for being such a sweet lady in my living room!!!❤
The cobbler part on top is my favorite also. My Dad and I would just want the dough with a couple of peaches. How I miss my Dad. He would be 127 if alive today. I love listening to you talk. I was raised in Va., but moved to Texas for a job and have been here 63 years. Blessings.
Looks so yummy. A great warming dessert for a winters night with lashings of homemade custard. Like to mention your t-shirt is a lovely colour. It lights up your face with His countenance.
I have to watch till the very end of your videos every time, even though I’ve already seen the dish lol! Just have to hear you say “Shine for Jesus!” Love your channel MeMe!
Me and my entire family are from Wyoming, South Dakota, and Montana, and we love our peach cobbler! I make it much the same way you do, but I preheat my dish in the oven with the butter in it and I mix my peaches with sugar and a few dashes of orange bitters in a bowl and leave it in the refrigerator overnight. Mine is always a big hit, and i usually add a bit of cinnamon and vanilla to the batter. Your's looks delicious as well and I might have to do it your way once or twice! Thank you and keep your faith in God!
I have only recently discovered you on TH-cam and I am loving watching you cook! I ordered your cook book yesterday and today I got an email saying it had been shipped. That is wonderful service! Hello there MeMe. It is always so good to see you. This is my one of my favorite desserts. It is so yummy 😋 and delicious. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your day and take care
Making this for tonight. My husband and I are celebrating our 9th Anniversary. Thank you for the quick idea.. I've been following you a lil while now and I've made many of your dishes. Thank you again for sharing everything you do with us.❤❤❤
Hey MeMe!! I just discovered you here on TH-cam and you are so precious and I love cobblers. I made a blueberry cobbler around Thanksgiving of last year and it was soo delicious but this is the perfect peach cobbler that I will be making in the near future.❤
I have made this Easy Cobbler for years. The recipe came from my mother and where she got it I have no idea. My husband and I are both diabetic so I have cut the sugar down to almost nothing. I actually made a fresh peach cobbler today and used a baking mix that had almond flour with baking powder and a few other natural ingredients. I only use 1 stick of butter for the cobbler. I used 3 TBS of light brown sugar only. The recipe I have calls for 2 cups of fruit. I have always used 4 cups. I used 1 and 1/4 cups of flour and the same amount of whole milk. My recipe calls for 325 degrees for one hour. I have considered changing to 350 for 45-50 minutes. Watching your video today lets me know that would work. Of course, our cobbler is a bit tart compared to two cups of sugar in yours. I am sure the full sweetness is delicious but less sugar works for us and it's a real treat to be able to have a dessert! Another plus is that this mix has no preservatives or ingredients that can't be pronounced. It's also gluten free.
I don't understand people having issues with a metal spoon. Computers have a way to turn down volume, all devices do. I wish this wasn't an issue. I love everything you do, I grew up in the South :)
There is a great bakery/cafe in Berkeley called Fat Apples and they make the best cobblers. One fall on a rainy day we happened in there and they had a pear cobbler and the top was carmelized and filled with slivered almonds, it was delicious. Thank you Meme I am going to make your cobbler.
I make this with peaches, blackberries or strawberries or all 3 together. Miss MeMe could you teach us how to make a tomato pie? I tried but mine was very runny.🌺❤️ I ordered your cookbook last week. As soon as I find the 2nd one for sale I’ll be getting that too! Love you and your family …. Love from another kk😊
This recipe is a bugbear to me, but I'll try it again using MeMe's recipe. It always turns out gloopy or over baked. This looks like a winner though and I'm going to trust that it comes out perfectly. I have all of the ingredients ready to bake tonight. Thanks for another great video.
I just made this last night. It was really good. But, when I put my pan in the oven to bake I tipped it to the side a little bit and spilled part of it down the inside of the oven door which of course ran through and spilled into the warming drawer underneath. What a big sticky peachy cobbler mess it was. But the cobbler was DELICIOUS!! Thank you for the video and recipe!
I have always loved to fix peach cobbler. I am 65 years old. My grandmother was a great cook. I have said in other posts I am live in NC. Really born raised.
All Of my family, 4 brothers, and Mom, and Dad has passed/ Miss all the Family reunions with my family and Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins, big-time Memories!

MeMe you are truly a gift from God! You are our favorite cook on here! Such a darling "Southern Belle"..just listening to you speak is magic to my ears!! Love how you explain your recipes so well! And..your lovely stories you share with us!! Love your recipies ( & so do my friends & family who eat my meals & deserts from your recipies!) ❤ You are just heartwarming!!!!
I like to watch you cut things up bc you frequently cut things in your hand rather than the cutting board. That's what my mother did, naturally I do too. We made this recipe when I was growing up, my children love it. We melted the butter in the baking dish, then put in the batter, finally the fruit is on top no stirring . As the cobbler cooks the peaches sink to the bottom. We called it " Lazy Day Cobbler". Awesome video Me me. God bless you.
I make my cobblers the same way! I just love all your lovely tops that you wear. Do you mind sharing where you get them? Thank you for all the great recipes and tutorials! I have just found your videos and love every one of them!!
I used canned peaches and did not drain (as the recipe states) but please drain the juice! It’s like soup. Next time I will drain and I’m sure it’ll turn out great.
Are you a canner of fruits, veggies, and meat, soups and such? If so will you show us a canning video. I love cobbler with puffy-biscuit/cake type of topping. Some people make it with a pie crust type of topper. Each to their preferences 🤗😋😝🤗❤️🥰thanks for all of your videos and recipes! I’m glad you are making my kind of topper for the cobbler🥰😋thank you. God bless you and the family.
This is similar to a Dutch baby without the egg. Instead of SR flour use AP plus 1 teaspoon baking powder per cup of flour. I also add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
MeMe Dear I am the mother of a Donor, my 32 yr old son car accident perfect organs. Please know how much the success of the transplants mean to the Donor Family. Thank you for telling your story with gratitude and humility. If you can tell your Donor Family their heart lives on it will mean the world to them. ❤❤❤Thank you from the bottom of my heart and his surviving twin sister thanks you, too.
Trying this recipe today!!! 😋 If I buy your cookbook, is there any possibility of you signing it or writing something inside the front cover? I love all your videos. You remind me of my grandma.
We need more MeMe's in this world.
Isn’t she just the best. So beautiful and I love her voice.
Amen!
We sure do! She is a gem!
We really do! Love her

@@barkerjames1980 nutmeg is good in the fruit of cobblers
@@julieproctor6039 yes it is, but I find nutmeg can be overpowering unless used carefully.

Can confirm cinnamon is good in this recipe.😅
