@@AndreRMeyer now that I see it on a computer screennow it definitely wasn't a conventional bore cut but it did have components of one. Bore cut. That is when you cut your notch into the tree and then instead of doing a conventional back cut you bore through the tree, finish your hinge and cut from the inside out to finish your back cut. You can do a partial conventional back cut which allows you to put wedges in to keep the tree from sitting back on your cut. It is a good cut to know for trees that's are at risk of barber chairing.

Just a question? Always wanted to be a class 1 faller and my dad was one and told me about the green and the black, just asking why did you fall the tree in the green while it's burning? Just for the top half? Then buck up the burning in the black? Just curious? TIA

Had to show my wife this video so she can see how a real saw on a fire crew works instead of the made for tv crap lie on fire country ....beautiful job
For better understanding of what you're looking at watch the most recent upload on my channel that features 4 live plasma fires I filmed last summer and hundreds that I filmed for the past 4 years
Great skills awesome Sadly I did this for 3 1/2 years in a row and the higher pay I got was $15 and hour now I do dishwasher for $18 to $25 and hour great but dangerous job the salary really SUCKS
Do you even see the hole inside the tree that had burned off? even if the fire is put out the tree is still a danger from crushing any living being in the area.
That is vary dangerous thing to do, this dude has balls of steel! 😁👍

"Sure, why not."
Well trained sawyer. 👏. Did some crazy saw work when I was in the USFS . Falling any tree over 20 inches in diameter is always a satisfying crash.

That looks like a lot of board ft going down ☹️☹️ is there any part of that is salvageable when that happens????

That air tunnel was one of the trees major roots. It burned out, creating a nice air tunnel to feed fire into the tree.
Nice he mitigated that fast didnt even need to push cut the burning chips he nailed his cuts perfect
Why didn't they just spend same time pouring water in to quench the fire? No water available?

Because your mom farted on it

Lightning can do that

In wild fires trees will burn from the root system underground into the tree and can actually kindle for months
2 questions. You can wear protos on fires? And are you using chap inserts?
Google it yourself
