  • Hi friends, presenting you special Gujarati Kachori stuffed with Pigeon Peas (Toovar Lilva) and Green Peas (Matar). This seasonal Lilva Kachori is savoury as well as spicy with the right pinch of sweetness and tanginess. It won't stop you from asking for another one 😉 Eat it with Tomato Ketchup or Green Chutney, and yes it tastes good even without anything.     Toovar Lilva Kachori Recipe -
    Ingredients for stuffing -
    2 cups Toovar Dana (Pigeon Peas) (coarsely crushed)
    1/2 cup Green Peas (Matar) (coarsely crushed)
    3 tblsps Oil
    1/2 tsp Asafoetida (Hing)
    1/8 tsp Cooking Soda
    1 tblsp Green Chilli Paste
    1 tblsp Ginger Paste
    3 tblsps fresh grated Coconut
    1 tblsp Sesame Seeds (Til)
    2 tsps Salt (or as per taste)
    3 tblsps Cashew Nut Pieces (Kaju pieces)
    2 tblsps Raisins (Kishmish)
    2 tblsps Sugar
    1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
    2 tblsps Lemon Juice (Nimbu ka Rass)
    1/2 cup Coriander Leaves
    3 tblsps Green Garlic (Hara Lasun) (optional)
    Ingredients for Kachori -
    2 cups All purpose Flour (Maida)
    1/2 cup Wheat Flour(Gehu aata)
    1 1/2 tsps Salt (or as per taste)
    1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
    4 tblsps Oil
    Water for kneeding dough
    Additional 1/2 tsp oil for kneeding dough (medium soft consistency dough)
    Oil for frying
    Serve hot with Tomato Ketchup or Green Chutney
