My aunt who was a catholic sang this at my parents wedding. She has had a hard life she lost two out of her four siblings due to sudden infancy syndrome, and she lost her father endured a divorce, and died from cancer. She sang for god at her church for a living, and died praying to him. Today is 46 years since I came to know Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Yes, how beautiful He has been to me and how perfect to wake up to this song!
I sang this today as a post communion hymn for a nursing home resident. It feels beautifully appropriate for this purpose. It’s powerfully prayerful and uplifting. The moment arrived and there was no internet but I had printed out the lyrics. God gave me my voice and the courage to use it instead.
