I originally posted an inquiry regarding club building on a golf website (golfwrx). Adam, who we are watching here, Took the time to respond to my inquiry. He was very helpful with numerous questions. Today was the first day using the Reshafted clubs and the results were outstanding. Many thanks for the help!

Hi from the UK, thank you for your diy guides. I’m having issues removing a shaft from an 89 model Wilson Staff blade. It will twist a bit and I’ve pulled the shaft out half way but I can’t pull the last little bit. Am I missing something, just spent nearly an hour on it? There are 8 more to do 😭

Once you get into that age clubs, things can be different. Not sure how it's stuck if you can get it 1/2 way out?

Thank for all the great videos. Given all the great tips I have started to experiment with clubs from the $1 bin at goodwill so I get the techniques down before moving to my playing clubs, starting with re-gripping and now working my way up using all the great tips. Would you recommend and steel wire brush or brass wire brush for cleaning? Again thank you!

Thanks. I've never used a brass one. I always use steel. I think either would work. Just need good firm bristles.

Great video! I've seen that sometimes the hosel gets discolored from the heat. Is there a way to buff that out without scratching up the hosel?

There is a product called Blue Away that is made for removing heat color from metal. Probably other products that do the same. Just be sure to test it first on a small section of the club. Not sure it works if you have a black oxide finish or some other specialty finishes. It may remove those finishes.

I've acquired a carbon rod, ACCRA FX 2.0 140 M2 (Senior), and I'd like to put it on a head Taylor Made M-6 No. 7 of 21º. The one I have is 42 inches long. I know I'll have to cut it off both ends, but I don't know how much I have to cut the end that inserts into the head of the stick, because at the end of the grip, I'll have to cut it second, so that there's the length that it now has. The problem is I want to trade an “R” rod, to a senior M2 rod.
Could you tell me how much cut?
Thank you in advance, you receive a warm greeting.

I'm not exactly sure with that particular shaft but in general most graphite shafts you will trim 1 inch for a 5 wood or 7 wood. So I would say trimming 1 inch from the tip, and then butt trimming to final length should work for that shaft.
      Thanks. for watching!

Curious to know what kind/size wire brush that is.

Always find your tips on club repairs/rebuilding. I'm about to change the steel shafts on a set of hollow core irons do I need to take any additional precautions when heating head so that damage isn't done to polymer filler.
    Thanks

I would use a butane or propane torch and just make sure you keep the heat on the top 1 inch of the hosel. You should be fine, just do about 10 seconds of heating and try and twist the head off, if it doesn't budge, do another 10s and repeat.

Good day AJ, your advice for removing a hollow core iron worked a treat. Many thanks.
I am replacing the steel shafts with steel fiber shafts and need to add circa 10 grams to the tip of the short irons to achieve the desired swing weight. I have some 10 gram brass tip weights suitable for graphite shafts but they are 70mm long, will they work ok and I'm worried that they might start rattling inside the shaft if the epoxy doesn't get to the full length of the weight. What would you suggest.
      Many thanks

@@abishop8136 Steelfiber are tough to weight. You may have to drill the tips to get those weights in. I personally don't use any of the long tip weights as any weight with a stem that extends past the hosel can cause a stress point on the shaft and lead to failure.
This is a case where you may need to go with lead tape or rethink the SW goal you have.
Just because you may like a certain SW in one setup, doesn't mean that will carry over to a different setup.

Thanks AJ, I had thought of drilling the tips to suit the larger diameter weights I have but I was concerned this would weaken the shaft.
The weights I have for .370 steel shafts. What do you think?
